Chapter 4 - Computerized Musketeers

Elena was surprised and heartbroken at once because her dad could make a forever decision about her life without consulting her.

“Dad I barely know him! He has been in the UK since we finished high school” Elena yelled, expecting her dad to say it was a prank.

“The more reason I shifted the engagement till next week, he would be back today and you have some time to get to know each other” Mr Pearson said fiercely not even looking at Elena despite being in the same car with her.

“Is marriage a joke to you Father? I do not love him and this engagement will not hold, I mean you can't just merge me with your friend's son” Elena said as she dug her fingers into her palms. Glassiness fogged her once bright gaze.

“Think about the company child, and our real-estate that we just started, the Uyors power can make it even mightier, daughter!” her dad said, pulling her in for a side hug while she released the hot tears that ached her eyes. 

“Dad you are doing business with my love life and I don't see how fair that is,” she said as her dad wiped her tears.

“Baby, one day you will be CEO and you will understand why your father is doing this, Damien is ambitious and powerful. And unlike Nathan Ford, he won’t destroy you rather elevate you” he said, caressing her shoulders. 

“Uyors alliance is a better way to secure our legacy after this humiliation, we have always been the most signed in Q1 Quest until now,” he said disappointed.

As they arrived at the Pearsons’ Estate, Elena remembered Nathan, the only man she had ever loved. Life has just been cruel. Now, she understood why her mum divorced her dad after high school. 

“Start shopping for the best dresses and I will send out invitations to our guests,” Mr Pearson said as they highlighted. 

For him, it was a game of power. Since it didn't work out with the NFT Chairman today like he thought, Uyors was his next elite suitor.

Elena needed a while to accept this before shopping. She went to her room, crying and battling with her thoughts, then one of the servants came to get her, “You have a visitor ma’am”.

“Hi Elena, you are even more beautiful than I last saw” Damien said, looking at her like he could tear off her clothes in a minute but he took her hands like a Duke who just saw his Duchess.

“Let's do this later, I am not in the mood” Elena said and rudely took her fingers away from Damien before he could kiss them.

She turned to go back to her room but Damien pulled her forcefully into a hug and squeezed her butt lightly then tried to suck her lips in a kiss, inhaling all her scent as he held her so close that she felt his boner.

Elena struggled for a few seconds until she pulled out and slapped him “I can't believe that I am stuck with an uncontrollable sexual fool for the rest of my life” Tears dripped from her already red eyes as she ran upstairs.

When her father came out, “Give her some time, she will come around” he said not knowing what Damien had done at first sight.

“How are the plans for the engagement going?” He asked Damien as he poured wine into two glasses.

“It's going to be the talk of the town, I sent the NFT Chairman an invitation to be the chairman of the day, if he accepts then we will have a lot of high class guests” Damien said but Pearson was not convinced.

“According to my COO, NFT Limited is my biggest investor and they took the last project which brought my company up to the top ten in New York and Washington D.C” 

“You'd better find another investor in case,” Mr Pearson said as he dropped his glass and left Damien there. Little did he know that Pearson and his father were planning to get rid of the NFT Chairman and Co.

How can nobodies like them, arise from nowhere to drag the streets of America with the most successful businessman, the Four-star-General, and acting Secretary of Defense for the USA?

Two days to the engagement and Kelvin couldn't stop teasing Nathan for accepting the invitation when he could easily crash it, he knew his friend surely had plans of his own.

Broadcast channels have carried the juicy news including the part where the NFT Chairman is the Chairman of the day for the engagement ceremony.

Not many weddings had a chairman, talk more of a successful chairman as the chairman of the wedding so people were really interested.

Nathan was spotted with his masks entering an old orphanage, the broadcasters surrounded him within five minutes, and the sounds of clicking cameras were all over the place.

“When will you let go of the mask sir?”  his security tried to get them away from him as much as possible.

“Soon” he answered with his computerized voice from his advanced mask, a robot-like mask that he's been wearing around for up to a week he entered Washington which makes him even more unapproachable.

No one has seen or produced such technology before and it is not even available for sale because only Nathan knows the programming language he used to create them.

This is a threat to Mr Pearson and General Uyors, they don’t like what they don’t know or what they can't control so they must get rid of him.

“Will you really be the chairman of the biggest engagement party that everyone is talking about?”

Another asked.

“Sure, they asked nicely and don’t miss it,” he said smiling through his masks as he walked out on them to sign as the new owner of the orphanage.
