Empty House in Dusun Sentani

Dusun Sentani is a remote hamlet located at the end of an area bordering a dense and extensive forest. This hamlet is rarely visited by migrants from outside the city because it is very far from the nearest town. Immigrants from out of town who come to this hamlet usually do not visit this hamlet but head to the forest at the end of Dusun Sentani.

Actually, the scenery in this hamlet is quite beautiful with rice fields scattered on the left and right of the entrance to this hamlet. The trees also look beautiful with green leaves that are very soothing to the eye.

Apart from the hamlet residents, only a handful of people know the history of Dusun Sentani. This hamlet used to be a jungle whose trees were cut down to make way for rice fields. The forest behind the hamlet is never entered by the hamlet residents because they consider it sacred and cannot be entered. However, residents from outside the city are permitted as long as they don't involve residents at all and don't create a commotion.

Residents' houses which are quite far from each other plus makeshift electric lighting make this hamlet a bit dark at night. Even though during the day the view of the residents' houses made of wood adds to the charm of the beauty of this hamlet. Village residents are very friendly to each other, also to migrants from out of town who sometimes have interests in the forest at the end of this hamlet.

Sometimes it takes days in the forest for migrants from outside the hamlet to reappear. The villagers don't care what these newcomers do as long as it doesn't disturb their peace. The forest at the end of the village holds a million mysteries that the villagers also don't want to bring up because it involves their ancestors.

At the end of this hamlet, you can see a large house that is very different from the wooden houses of the residents. This house is very large with concrete buildings and a very large yard.

This house looks very luxurious in the middle of an ordinary resident's house. Even though it looks dull with the paint peeling off, looking at the solidity of this house, it can be ascertained that this house used to be a magnificent house that had a large enough yard for the size of a house in a village.

Unfortunately this house is uninhabited. You can see tall bushes covering the entire yard of this house. Even the road to the front door of the house was blocked by tall grass. No one knows who owns this house. According to the story, this house was once owned by a rich merchant who owned a plantation in this hamlet. Some say that this house belongs to a rich man who no longer lives in this village. Gradually this story also disappeared and only left the impression of horror in this hamlet when night came and the streets in front of this empty house were pitch black.

No villager dared to approach this house when it was night. The story that circulated said that there were residents of the Dusun Sentani who saw the appearance of a beautiful woman with long hair and dressed all in red in a long dress sitting on the terrace of the house. There is also a story that mentions seeing a huge giant who is the caretaker of a large tree that grows in the yard of this house. There are also those who often hear sounds like low sighs and whispers coming from inside this Empty House. There are still many scary stories circulating in this village but none of them have been proven true.

The house next to the Empty House is also a fairly large house, although not as big as the house next to it. In contrast to the house next door, which looks dull and unkempt, this house contrasts with its colorful paint which adds to the beauty of this house. The yard is also filled with flowers and fruit trees that are neatly maintained. This house looks clean even though there are many trees and flower gardens in the yard.
