The words made Tyler stop in his tracks.

"What did you say?"

Huxley guffawed loudly and pointed a derogatory finger at the young man.

"Didn't you know? Your girlfriend Erica is marrying Trent Cooper in the Marian Hotel today. What a joke you are! You should kill yourself!"

Tyler furrowed his brows.

Was Erica really getting hitched to Trent? That didn't make any sense!

Trent tried to rape her, and he sent Tyler to prison under false charges.

Why would she agree to marry him? Perhaps Huxley was lying?

Tyler could read the gang leader's expressions. He was downright evil, but he wasn't a liar.

Huxley saw Tyler was distracted and figured it was his chance to land a successful attack.

He lunged at the young man, aiming a punch at his face. However, his fate was already sealed.

Pow! Tyler caught Huxley's fist in his right hand without even looking in his direction.

Then he turned to stare into the gangster's shocked eyes.

Huxley broke into a nervous sweat.

Tyler's hand on his fist felt like an iron grip, and his cold eyes sent shivers down his spine.

"Is this the hand you used to drag my mother by the hair?"

Tyler asked in a chilly voice.

The gang leader almost pissed his pants.

"I…" he stammered.

A loud crack sounded as Tyler closed his fist on Huxley's hand.

The man's fingers twisted in the wrong ways as if they were scrambled antennas.

Huxley let out a scream of agony and stumbled back.

His right hand had become utterly useless and looked like a withered flower.

The goon eyed Tyler in horror.

Who was this guy really? What made him so powerful all of a sudden?

He had never run into such a strong fighter in all his years on the streets.

Since Huxley couldn't match the young man, he gathered his injured men and escaped.

However, the humiliation loomed in his heart, and he'd sooner or later seek revenge.

Tyler dusted his clothes and found their neighbors watching the scene with awe.

He gave them icy glares and left.

Nobody ever came to his mother's rescue while he was away.

It was time to take matters into his own hands.

Tyler entered his home and found Ruth a nervous wreck.

"Mom, they won't return ever again. You can rest assured."

He gave her some anxiety meds and put her to sleep before returning to his bedroom.

Tyler wanted to unwrap his gifts from Butch Salvatore before he went out into the world.

He emptied the paper bag that Britta gave him. Inside, there were three objects.

First was a rolled-up parchment, which Tyler assumed was the map to Wings Island.

He stowed it away safely.

The second was a ring with the Seraphim sigil, which he slid onto his finger.

The final gift was a black debit card from Guardian International Bank.

"It seems Butch gave me some money to restart my life," he mused. "If it is a few thousand dollars at the least, it will be a great help."

Feeling content, he pocketed the card and left the house.

It was time to confront his girlfriend, Erica Sinclair.

Was she being forced into marriage with Trent? Yes, that was more likely.

Erica had sworn she'd wait for his release from prison.

She wouldn't betray him.

Since Tyler didn't have a vehicle, he decided to walk to the Sinclair house.

On his way along the footpath, he noticed an accident about to happen.

A little girl in a kindergarten uniform was crossing the road.

From a distance, a Lanbo came racing down the road at breakneck speed.

Tyler immediately calculated it would hit the child.

The young man moved with lightning speed.

In a few moments, he reached the middle of the road. He scooped up the child in his muscular arms.

However, it was too late for him to get out of the vehicle's way.

The Lamborghini slowed down, but not enough to halt.

It hit Tyler on the shoulder at thirty miles per hour!

Tyler didn't budge from his position, but the vehicle crashed and spun sharply as if it had run into an immovable water hydrant.

It careened to a halt not far off from the location.

Tyler consoled the crying little girl and sent her off in the right direction.

Then he approached the halted vehicle.

It was time to give the rash driver a piece of his mind.

His carefree driving could have killed the child!

The Lamborghini door opened, and a beautiful young woman stepped out.

Tyler, who was in a mood to vent himself, was momentarily transfixed.

He was forced to admire the young woman's shapely figure and enchanting face.

Moreover, her clothes were from a top designer brand.

She was definitely a classy dame from a filthy rich family.

However, the woman's face was distorted in anger.

"Are you crazy? Why did you jump in front of my car?"

At first, she thought Tyler was injured.

However, the young man was surprisingly unhurt.

She figured she must have imagined hitting him; now her anger knew no bounds.

The young woman scrutinized Tyler's clothes for a moment.

The ordinary garb made her scowl.

"Ah, it looks like you are a homeless man! You tried to jump in front of a billionaire's car to get compensation, didn't you?! Scammer!"

The world had stopped, but Tyler could still move. His heart pounded in the unnatural silence. Victor stood before him with a faint smirk playing on his lips."What the hell did you do?" Tyler demanded. He glanced around, confirming what he already suspected: time itself had bent to Victor's will."Did you... stop time?"Victor chuckled and crossed his arms casually, as if they were discussing the weather over tea. "Not quite, Salvatore, or whatever your real name is. Stopping time? That is close to impossible. What I've done is freeze the world around us. That's a subtle difference, but an important one."Tyler narrowed his eyes and found he could move. He circled Victor warily. "Explain. How is it different? And why?"The prince tilted his head in mild amusement, as if indulging a curious child. "Freezing the world creates a veil between us and them. Time still flows, but only for those I choose. The rest are paused, unaware, unharmed.""No memories of this moment will remain for th

Whispers rippled through the crowd as the High Council elder stepped forward. "It is decided," he announced. "Prince Victor Cromwell and Lord Tristan Salvatore are the finalists of this courtship banquet. The winner will marry Princess Michelle Douglas and ascend as King of Petra with her as the Queen." Gasps filled the room, followed by a wave of murmurs. "All others are eliminated? People from royal lineage and those with generational wealth." The other remaining candidates stamped their feet and grumbled curses under their breath. Charlie Griggs got up from his seat rudely and walked out. Michelle's heart pounded in her chest. It was too sudden. Was her fate going to be decided so easily? Her emerald gown felt suddenly too tight. She gripped the edge of the head table, her eyes fixed anxiously on the finalists. Who did she like better? Both of them? Victor's reputation, accomplishments, and kindness had touched her. Besides, he had not used a champion for the fight like the oth

His shaved head gleamed, and his muscles rippled under a black shirt with gothic prints. The herald's voice cut through the din. "First challenger: Sir Gideon's champion, The Hammer!"The crowd exploded. "Hammer! Hammer! Hammer!" they chanted, pumping their fists. Apparently, this man was quite popular as a pit fighter.
