The massive golden doors of the Bullion Corporation Empire swung open. The second Morris Emmett stepped inside, you could feel the energy in the room change.
The lobby was incredible— the ceilings were as high as a cathedral, and the black marble floors were polished so well they looked like a dark lake reflecting the golden light from the chandeliers above.
Huge digital screens lined the walls, flashing market numbers in real time. Everything about this place screamed that it was the center of the world's money.
Morris walked in first, his head held high. Behind him followed the whole squad, Edward, Jane, Chloe, Professor Chinny, and a small army of lawyers and assistants. They marched in like they already owned the building, looking around with smug smiles.
Two security officers at the front desk stepped forward immediately. “Good afternoon,” one said professionally. “May we know who you are here to see?”
Morris didn't even slow down. “We’re here to finalize a signing deal,” he said, his voice full of self importance. “With Andrew Schmidt and Barry Sanders.”
The officer checked his tablet, paused for a split second, and then nodded. “You may proceed, Mr. Emmett. They’ve been informed you're coming.” Morris gave a satisfied little hum and kept walking, his supporters following behind him like loyal shadows.
A few seconds later, the doors opened again. This time, Robert stepped inside. Beside him were Avery, Anna, and Professor Darby.
The very same security officers who had just questioned Morris suddenly went still like statues as they saluted. Their eyes widened, and their backs went straight as boards.
And then, they did something nobody expected. They lowered their heads, not just a little bit, but completely. It was a small gesture of respect, so subtle you might miss it, but it was there.
Robert didn't even react. He didn't slow down or acknowledge them, he just kept walking. None of the Emmetts noticed— they were too busy looking at their own reflections in the shiny marble walls.
As Robert’s group caught up, the tension started to get thick. Jane was the first to notice them following. She let out a dry, nasty laugh. “Well, look who decided to follow us inside,” she said, loud enough for everyone to hear. “Did you come to watch how real contracts are signed?”
Anna didn't say a word. The only sound was the calm click clack of her heels on the floor.
Chloe turned toward Avery with a mean curl of her lip. “You must really love being embarrassed, Avery. First the auction, and now this?” She leaned in closer, whispering like a snake.
“Make sure you watch carefully. This is what real power looks like.” Avery gripped the strap of her bag tighter, but she kept her mouth shut.
Edward stepped forward, his eyes locked onto Robert. “You’re persistent, I’ll give you that,” he said coldly. “But this all ends today. Once this contract is signed, you’ll finally understand the difference between pretending to be important… and actually being important.”
Robert didn't change his expression at all. He wasn't angry or defensive, he just looked... bored. That silence seemed to irritate Edward more than any insult could have.
Professor Chinny chimed in, scoffing at Darby. “You brought your daughter to watch your own downfall? That’s bold. Or just plain stupid.” Darby just gave him a faint, knowing smile.
Anna finally spoke up. “You’re all being very loud for people who haven't actually signed a single thing yet.”
Jane’s eyes snapped toward her. “Keep smiling, little girl. You won't be smiling in ten minutes.”
Anna’s smile actually got wider. “I’ve already seen how this movie ends.”
The elevator dinged but before they could move, the receptionist called out to Morris. “Good afternoon. May I assist you?”
Morris walked up to the desk like he owned it. “We’re here to see Andrew Schmidt and Barry Sanders,” he announced. “They’re expecting us. We’re finishing our deal today.”
The receptionist kept her professional smile. “One moment, sir.” The lobby went quiet as everyone waited. You could hear the supporters whispering excitedly about how the Emmetts were about to become untouchable with Bullion Corporation backing them.
Avery stood behind Robert, her heart racing— not because she was scared, but because she could feel something big was about to happen.
The receptionist looked up. “They will be down shortly.”
Morris adjusted his sleeves. Edward glanced at Robert one last time. “Last chance to walk away quietly,” he warned. Robert didn't even look his way.
A few minutes passed, and then the private elevator at the back of the hall opened. Two men stepped out, Andrew Schmidt and Barry Sanders. The entire lobby went stiff.
These weren't just businessmen, they were titans. Their presence alone made the room feel smaller. Even Morris straightened his posture.
The two titans walked forward calmly. Morris stepped out first and stuck his hand out. “Mr. Schmidt. Mr. Sanders,” he said smoothly. “It’s an honor.”
Barry shook his hand, and Andrew gave a formal nod. The supporters behind Morris started grinning, and Jane crossed her arms with a smug look. Edward shot Robert a look that said, See? We won.
But then, everything went sideways.
Andrew’s eyes moved. They went past Morris. They went past Edward. They went past everyone until they landed directly on Robert. In that split second, the whole vibe changed. Barry saw him too. Their faces didn't show surprise— they showed deep, immediate respect.
They let go of Morris’s hand without saying a word. Without even looking back, they walked right past him and headed straight for Robert. The air in the lobby seemed to freeze solid. Morris turned around slowly, looking completely lost. Edward’s jaw dropped, and Jane just blinked in confusion.
Andrew stopped right in front of Robert and Barry stood beside him. And then, both of them lowered their heads. They didn't just nod, they gave a deep, silent bow.
The entire lobby let out a loud gasp. Nobody could understand what they were seeing. The two most powerful men in the business world were bowing... to Robert?
They stayed like that for fifteen long seconds. Nobody moved. Morris’s face went pale, Edward’s mouth was hanging open, and Professor Chinny’s glasses almost fell off his face. Jane whispered, “What… what is this?” while Chloe stared in total disbelief, muttering that it had to be a joke.
But nobody was laughing.
Except Anna, who was giggling softly. Avery’s heart was pounding so hard it hurt. In that moment, everything clicked for her. The auction, the way people acted, the quiet confidence— it was always him. Robert Graham.
Andrew finally spoke, still slightly bowed. “Sir.” That was it. Just one word, but it shattered the Emmetts' reality. Barry followed up with, “We apologize for not coming down sooner.”
Apologizing? To Robert? Morris’s hands started to shake. Edward actually took a step back without realizing it. “W—What is the meaning of this?” Morris demanded, but his voice sounded weak and shaky now.
Andrew slowly turned toward Morris while bowing to Robert and said evenly, “I believe there has been a huge misunderstanding.”
The silence that followed was suffocating. Jane felt cold sweat on her neck, and Chloe’s confidence was completely gone. Professor Chinny looked like he realized his whole life was over. Anna just stood there with a satisfied smile, and Avery looked at Robert like she was seeing him for the first time in her life.
And Robert? He just looked at Morris. He wasn't angry, and he wasn't looking for revenge. He just looked at him with a quiet, calm look that said it was all over.

Chapter 105: The Official Challenge
The morning sun shone through the massive glass walls of the Oasis suite, hitting the silk sheets and scattered pillows where Anna was still buried in a mountain of expensive bedding.Avery woke up slowly, that fuzzy disoriented feeling hitting her for a few seconds as she glanced around trying to recall where she was, before reality rushed back to her memory. The helicopter, the imperial design of the Graham Oasis, and then— like a cold splash of water— Tristan’s message.‘I’m the World Champion. Guys like him don’t last long in my world.’Avery let out a long, tired sigh and sat up. Beside her, Anna let out a muffled groan. “Five more minutes,” she mumbled into a pillow. Before Avery could even answer, the suite door clicked open. Robert walked in, already dressed in a black training outfit that looked simple but had that unmistakable custom made fit. He stopped a few steps in, his eyes moving between the two of them. He didn't say anything at first, but the vibe in the room shifte
CHAPTER 104: The Message
Avery pushed the door open slowly, and for a second, she just stood there. The room didn't even look like a bedroom, it looked like something ripped straight out of a royal palace.Anna was already inside, and she’d clearly been busy. In the few minutes since she’d run off, she had managed to poke her head into half the suite. One of the massive wardrobe doors was hanging open, showing off rows of elegant dresses and outfits that looked like they were tailored by hand. Another door was half open, leading to a dressing area that was honestly bigger than most hotel rooms Avery had ever seen.Anna ran her fingers across a polished gold table and just laughed. “This place is insane,” she muttered. She walked over to a tall mirror framed in delicate gold patterns and did a little turn, checking out the design. “I’m serious,” she said, shaking her head. “This is like something the Queen of England would sleep in.”The bed was the centerpiece— enormous, layered with silk sheets and more pill
CHAPTER 103: Rooms Fit for Royalty
Robert looked around at the group for a second. Anna was barely hanging on, leaning so hard against Avery that it looked like gravity had suddenly doubled for her. Professor Darby looked exhausted but still had that fascinated glint in his eyes, and Rose just had this quiet, wide eyed amazement that hadn't faded all night.Robert smiled. “Well,” he said calmly, “I think we’ve had enough excitement for one night.”Anna mumbled something that sounded like she was agreeing, but it might have just been sleep talking.Robert turned slightly toward the butler. “Please show Professor Darby to his room.”The butler gave a respectful nod. “Of course, sir.”Professor Darby adjusted his glasses and followed the butler down one of the long marble corridors. The lighting was softer here— warmer and a bit more private, like a hallway in a luxury hotel designed for heads of state. They stopped in front of a massive wooden door framed in dark gold designs, and the butler swung it open.Professor Da
CHAPTER 102: The View from the Throne
Robert pushed his chair back and stood up. The sound wasn't loud, but in a room that big, it was enough to get everyone’s attention. Almost instinctively, everyone else started standing up too, their chairs sliding across the polished floor one after another.Anna was up first, then Avery. Professor Darby took a second to straighten his jacket, and Rose followed him, still looking around the dining hall like she was afraid it might vanish if she blinked. Then the butler stepped up behind them like a shadow.Robert gave them a small, relaxed smile. “Come on,” he said, and started walking. The Graham Oasis was even more intense at night. The hallways had a soft, golden glow that bounced off the marble floors, making them look like mirrors. Through the massive glass walls, you could see fountains lit up in white light and gardens that looked more like outdoor art galleries.Anna kept turning her head from side to side. “Okay,” she muttered, mostly to herself. “I will definitely get lost
CHAPTER 101: Dining with the Graham's
The silverware was clinking, and everyone was talking in that low, happy way you do when the food is so good that it actually calms you down. For a while, nobody said much— they were all just busy experiencing a meal that most people only see in movies.Anna wasn’t the type to sit in silence for long, though. She dropped her fork after a massive bite of steak and just shook her head. "Okay," she said, looking dead serious. "This has to be illegal. Seriously, someone should be in jail for making a steak this good. There should be laws against this."Robert turned to her looking half amused. "Illegal?"Avery chuckled softly beside her.Professor Darby smiled politely while cutting another piece of lamb.Rose ate quietly, still taking everything in— the room, the food, the fact that the boy she had raised was the heir to the most powerful family on earth.Anna took another bite and leaned back again."Yeah," Anna said, pointing her fork at him like she was making a legal argument. "It ju
CHAPTER 100: The Table of a Trillionaire
When the doors opened, Anna actually stopped breathing. It wasn't on purpose, she gasped and her lungs just seemed to stall out.“...Oh my God,” she whispered.Avery, Rose, and the Professor were right behind her, and they all had that same reaction of silence. It was that heavy kind of quiet you get when your brain is trying to make sense of something it wasn't built to process. The dining hall was massive— easily the size of a cathedral— with a dome ceiling fifty feet up covered in gold leaf murals, kings and leaders placing down their crowns and bowing before a single throne. Huge diamond chandeliers hung down like frozen waterfalls, and the polished black marble floor was so clean it looked like a mirror. But the real showstopper was the table. It was a single, fifty foot slab of black obsidian with gold designs that stretched almost the whole length of the hall.“That table has to be forty feet long,” Anna muttered.“Fifty,” Professor Darby corrected softly, squinting through hi
