“There's the loser!” Valencia pointed at Harvey who had just come out of the store.

Harvey came out holding his cell phone to his ear. He walked slowly and calmly. Being so focused, he didn't really care about the trivial things around him. He finally stops when Whitley and Valencia stand in front of Harvey with their arrogance.

The two women look down on Harvey and fold their arms across their chest. Harvey hangs up the phone.

Whitley clucked. “What cheap tricks do you use to fool the people at the store? You're always up to something annoying.”

Being forcibly evicted by the most elite jewelry store had certainly hurt Whitley's pride as well as Valencia's. What would the world say if everyone knew that they were expelled from here? Of course they would lose face. Therefore, they deliberately wait for Harvey outside to restore their pride and prove that Harvey can't do things as he pleases. Whitley and Valencia were going to show Harvey who was boss.

Valencia raised one eyebrow. “Did you do it to get back with Whitley?”

Whitley spat under her breath. She wanted to picture how humiliated she would be if what Valencia said actually happened. “I don't want to imagine it. It wouldn't happen even in a dream. Besides, I have a better man now. Andreas Brown is the perfect man for me.”

Valencia smiled lightly at Harvey. “Andreas Brown. Ah... there's no way you can beat him, Harvey. You don't stand a chance.”

Whitley smiled dismissively. “Huh? Even Andreas's big toe is worth more than this loser. Andreas is a really great guy. He has a big company, a prominent family, and a handsome face, too.”

Whitley glanced at Harvey. “Huh, look at you, Harvey. You have nothing to be proud of. With you out of my life, I've let the most shameful thing about me go. You are nothing more than a cockroach to me, Harvey! You deserve to be crushed in a trash can!”

Valencia snorted dismissively. “You didn't even contribute anything to Whitley's life. Know your place, you have no place in the heart or mind of a woman as beautiful and established as Whitley.”

Whitley shook her head. “Of course there won't be. In the three years I've been married to this man, all he's done is stay at home and do useless things. He's like a parasite living in my house. I've wanted to throw this parasite out of the house for so long!”

Unexpectedly, that was exactly what Whitley thought about Harvey all along. Harvey had thrown away his pride for 3 years and tried to be a different person just for Whitley. Harvey had tried to be a good person. He didn't even retaliate when he was treated as a slave by the Smith family members. Is this how Whitley responded? Treating Harvey as a parasite, when this woman probably didn't deserve anyone's pity.

Whitley chuckled again when she saw the door of the jewelry store. Her heartache had not gone away when she was forced out of the store because of Harvey. “For 3 years I endured the shame of having a completely useless husband. It's not fun having a trashy husband. Just when I was free of him and wanted to indulge myself in buying jewelry, I was humiliated by you again, Harvey.”

Whitley glared at Harvey. “Where do you think I got the ability to buy jewelry from, huh? I worked hard to bring the Smith family's, Demotion Company into the fold. I've made great progress over the years. It's also because of my partnership with Andreas that I have the money to buy jewelry. Think about it, Harvey, you can't even give me anything but trouble.”

Harvey remained calm despite the many insults that had come out of these two people's mouths for him. There was no reason to be upset. “Don't you know who helped you achieve everything? It was me.”

Whitley suddenly laughed at that. “You? What can you do? You've been lazing around at home and all you've done is cook food that doesn't taste good at all. For all you know, I've been throwing that food away! You only embarrass me when you show up at the office.”

It felt like something was stabbing Harvey in the heart when he heard that. Whitley's words reminded him of the time he was humiliated in front of the Smith family. However, Harvey suppressed it and remained calm. “If your grandfather were alive, he would have slapped you.”

With that little sentence, Whitley's face immediately turned red. “Stop talking about my grandfather! He caught a crazy disease in his head before he died! That’s why he asked me to marry a trash like you!”

Harvey did not expect Whitley to say such things about his grandfather. This woman really had a very shallow brain.

She angrily pointed at the jewelry store. “You'll see, I'll destroy this place someday! I'll level it to the ground. My man could do such a thing!”

Harvey gave a small smile. “You can't do that.”

Whitley glanced over with a frivolous smile. “Of course I can do it. Andreas has more wealth than you can imagine, Harvey. Getting this savage's shop destroyed is a piece of cake. Can you imagine if he destroyed you? You're even just like a pebble that was accidentally kicked by him.”

Valencia burst out laughing. Whitley's analogy was absolutely hilarious to her.

Harvey raised one eyebrow. It was very amused to hear Whitley glorify the man. “Don't you know what happened to Andreas Brown?”

Whitley snorted. She cocked her head proudly. To her, a man like Harvey would be destroyed in an instant. And Whitley couldn't wait for that.

Harvey calmly stepped up until they were close enough. Harvey looked at Whitley with calm eyes. “Andreas will go bankrupt and he'll go to jail.”

Whitley laughed. “Look how confident you were when you told that joke. The one going to jail is you, Harvey. Your demon hands have beaten him up and you'll rot in jail for it.”

Harvey gave Whitley a very cold stare. In fact, for some reason, Whitley felt that her gaze was so piercing that his chest felt tight. Slowly, Harvey turned around and walked away from the two women.

Whitley was transfixed there. It was a sensation she had never felt before when she talked to Harvey. That loser had previously looked so weak and deserving of torture, but that look just now felt so powerful that it made his breathing stop for a moment.

Whitley shook her head. “Damn, you're making this up!”

A moment later, a black BMW suddenly pulled up beside them. Whitley and Valencia were stunned at how nice the car looked.

Valencia gulped. “Whitley! Isn't that a BMW type-RK? That's the newest one! It was just released last month. The price can reach 2 million dollars. I heard that there are only two of those cars in the world.”

Whitley was wide-eyed. “Really? Who's the owner?”

Valencia shook her head. “I don't know. But that person must be very rich! If that person were my husband, then I would take him for a walk around the city. I'm sure everyone would envy me!”

Whitley and Valencia were transfixed waiting to see who got out of the car. It turned out to be a handsome man in a white shirt covered by a black tuxedo. Of course this set Whitley and Valencia's hearts racing.

However, the unexpected happened. The man approached and bowed before Harvey. “I have come to fetch you, Master Harvey. Please come in.”

The man opened the back door of the car and let Harvey in. As Harvey entered the car, his eyes glanced at Whitley and Harvey could see the frown on her forehead. Her mouth was unexpected until her chin dropped. Harvey knew when Whitley made that face, she was in shock.

Vanessa's steps echoed softly on the deserted sidewalk. She walked down the city streets with her head slightly bowed, her face hidden behind a mask and wide brimmed hat. Duskvale, usually bustling with tourists and family laughter, now felt like a town that was holding its breath. The storefronts are empty, the lights glow drearily without visitors. The occasional sound of a passing vehicle can be heard, but not many. Fear has imprisoned people behind the doors of their homes. No more couples holding hands in the park, or children chasing birds in the square.Vanessa stared at the mostly empty convenience store shelves - no rice, no instant noodles, not even a few bottles of mineral water. Panic buying had changed the face of Duskvale. Purchasing power declined, not because of a lack of money, but because of a numbing fear.Vanessa had just left the Q-Entertainment building, wearing a dark coat that waved in the afternoon breeze. This time, there was no Jordan by her side-no lighthe

His hands clenched on the table, his fingers trembling with rage.“Look at what’s happening!” he continued, his voice rising. “Panic buying is rampant! Duskvale’s economy is in shambles, and now... other cities are starting to follow suit!” His gaze was accusatory, as if blaming the governor for all the turmoil.Other officials began to whisper, the atmosphere in the room suddenly tense. But Governor Westhaven sat calmly, his face expressionless, as if listening to a weather report. However, it was that very calmness that only fueled the minister’s anger further.Governor Westhaven let out a long sigh, a heavy exhalation escaping his lips like a burden he couldn’t shed. His forehead furrowed deeply, signaling growing confusion. His gaze was vacant as he stared at the table, as if trying to guess what Harvey was truly planning.W

A man scooped up all the vegetables with both hands and stuffed them into the trolley in a hurry, as if his life depended on it. Without pause, he scooped up dozens of sausage wrappers and threw them in roughly, nearly spilling the trolley."Honey!" he called out to the woman behind who was also pushing the trolley. His breathing was heavy, his face full of tension. "Take as much as you can! Don't forget the condiments! I'll get some beer!"The woman nodded quickly without replying, then quickly split up. They blended into the sea of people, jostling for shelf after shelf. This was no ordinary shopping. This was a scramble, a mass panic. All hands claw, grab, and scramble, as if the world will end in a matter of hours. In another corner, a homeless man stands still, clutching a shabby loaf of bread-the only thing he's managed to grab. His hands trembled, his eyes darting around the long line in front of the cashier. The change in his pocket was barely enough to pay for the meal. But h

"General, that power should not be used by humans," Jordan said, his voice heavy and stressed. His forehead was sharply creased, reflecting the anxiety he could not hide. "Demonic power will contaminate our world. The balance will be broken and everything could fall into chaos."Harvey walked slowly, circling the table with heavy steps. Each step was echoing, as if compressing the air between them. He stopped right in front of Jordan. His gaze was sharp, piercing like the blade of an invisible sword."Of course I know," he murmured, low but firm.Harvey's brow furrowed deeply. His eyes hardened as he stared straight into his subordinate's face."The question is," he said in an almost cold voice, "who would be stupid enough to awaken that power?"The arrival of Jack Orland and Hudson was no coincidence. There was a force behind the scenes-a person, or even a whole organization-that orchestrated the whole thing. The people who wielded the Devil's power almost never showed themselves. Th

The world stands on two poles of tremendous power. The first comes from the Gods-great entities that radiate holy light, giving life, hope, and peace to all beings. The second comes from the Demons-ancient beings born of darkness, shrouding the world with fear and destruction that creeps silently. Those who are able to control the ki energy open the gates to one of the two paths. The path of light-or the path of destruction. The power of the Gods is warm, clear, like the morning sun breaking through the fog. It heals, guides, and gently burns away the dark.Whereas the Devil's power... was a shadow that crept behind the light. It is cold, gripping, and unforgiving. It destroys not only the body-but also the soul. For those who can reach the power of Gods or Demons, the limits of human strength no longer apply. Even compared to ordinary ki users, they stood far above-like a mountain rising in the middle of the hills.Harvey was one of them. His body was able to absorb and use the powe

“You've lost,” Harvey said, his voice cold as a blade of ice through bone. “Now, tell me, who's your boss?”Hudson widened his eyes. For a moment, the world around him seemed to blur. His chest rose and fell irregularly, and subconsciously, his body began to tremble subtly.“No way... am I scared?” he thought, choking up. His fingertips felt numb, as if the blood refused to flow. Everything slowed down-seconds turned into minutes-and in that void, images of the past slammed into his mind.“Teacher called me a genius. Rare. Irreplaceable. I always completed every mission perfectly. But now? Fear entangles me like invisible shackles?”Hudson's teeth chattered. His jaw tightened, his eyes widened with an almost maniacal look. His gaze pierced Harvey with a fury that was tinged with shame and helplessness.“You-”Harvey pressed Hudson's neck harder. His fingers were like steel pincers that pierced the skin and stopped the flow of breath. Hudson coughed, his face turned red, and his vision
