lick the table like a dog

"You want him to lick it clean and swallow everything back in...?"

At that moment, Charles's expression twisted in fury as he never expected the acting chairman sent by the Ning Group of the Eastern Sea to be so domineering.

"Chairman Wesley, please have mercy on Derek. He's still young and does not fully understand the rules yet. Could you please..." Charles pleaded.

"Stop!" Wesley shouted as he raised his hand to signal Charles to shut his mouth.

"Ten seconds," Wesley stated as he looked at Charles and chuckled. In an attempt to restrain his expression, he proceeded to speak in a cold voice, "If you can't do it, Charles, you may take your leave. You will no longer have to come to Prestige Tower starting tomorrow."

"I will send a team to settle the matters regarding the jewelry stores and the processing factories. With the professionalism of our Ning Group's team, it won't take them more than 24 hours to complete these simple tasks."

As the number one secretary of the director in the Ning Group of the East Sea, Wesley was Norman's most trusted aide who had worked in the business industry for a long time. After seeing and taking part in many important scenes, he had plenty of experience in negotiating with other companies.

His sudden attack emitted an aura strong enough to prevent the members of the Harrison Family from raising their heads.

At this moment, Charles's face turned pale as his entire body trembled in utter fear.

Wesley's words felt like a heavy hammer smashing into his chest, causing him to feel out of breath.

Seeing how domineering Wesley was, Charles truly believed that he had the ability to kick him out of the company whenever he wanted to. If he did not do as Wesley said, he might really lose everything as soon as he left Prestige Tower. Money, status, villas, cars, shares, factories...

The moment he lost his wealth, the people whom he had offended in the past would certainly trample him into a bottomless abyss.

Just thinking about the consequences, Charles felt a menacing chill running down his spine.

"You unfilial son!" Charles shouted in anger as his face flushed crimson. He then looked coldly at Derek and stated, "You bastard, do as Chairman Wesley says!"

*Slap! Slap!*

Without any hesitation, Charles proceeded to slap Derek twice, leaving behind bright red marks on his face.

"Dad, I..." Derek muttered as his face turned pale in fear. At this moment, he felt so wronged that he almost shed tears.

He really did not know who he had provoked to end up suffering this kind of humiliation.

To actually lick the vomit on the table in front of more than two hundred people from the Harrison Family and eat it all back in...

How could he still have the face to establish himself in the Harrison Group and survive in Clearwater City in the future?

*Slap!*

Charles once again slapped Derek on his face; this time, however, he pressed his son's head down into the pool of vomit on the table.

"You unfilial son, are you trying to force your father to death?" Charles gritted his teeth and said fiercely, pressing Derek's head down on the table as hard as he could.

As tears dripped down Derek's face, he licked the table clean like a dog and forced himself to swallow everything back in.

The members of the Harrison Family looked at the absurd scene with bewildered expressions.

At this instant, they could feel the true wrath of the newly promoted Chairman Wesley.

At the same time, they could not help but heave a sigh of relief from the bottom of their hearts.

It was now obvious that this fool, Derek, had somehow offended the Ning Group of the East Sea and brought about this terrible disaster. There was a possibility that they might even have to suffer along with him.

Therefore, the people of the Harrison Family did not feel any sort of remorse for Derek and were even gnashing their teeth at him.

After witnessing the disgusting yet satisfying scene, Wesley's expression returned to normal as he no longer paid any attention to Charles and his son.

"Everyone, I believe all of you have already finished reading through the acquisition plan in the past five minutes," Wesley said slowly.

"The reason why our Ning Group purchased a large number of shares and assets from the Harrison's Jewelry Group is because we have taken a liking to the potential of the Harrison's Jewelry Corporation since it possesses great development value. Therefore, the fellow shareholders will not have to worry about the damages resulting from the recent crisis."

"The professionalism of our team will allow the company to create a greater profit value. All the shareholders only need to strictly abide by the system that I have modified and carry it out. In the future, our business will definitely flourish to a greater height than before."

The twenty plus shareholders present nodded their heads in agreement — each of them having their own plans in their hearts.

They had all carefully read through the Ning Group's acquisition plan.

It seemed that the Ning Group of the Eastern Sea had no intentions of exterminating the Harrison's Jewelry Group in one go.

All the plans and contracts would not have any effect on small shareholders like them. Thus, they could still enjoy the dividends from before. Furthermore, this plan allowed them to indirectly cling onto the Ning Group of the Eastern Sea.

They could also see that the recent crisis was obviously targeted at James and Charles.

As a result, these two executive directors had suffered a tremendous loss. Not only did they lose the right to speak in important matters, but their properties and number of shares had also suffered a huge blow. They must have lost all motivation and hope by now.

However, the one person who suffered the greatest defeat was Charles. Not only had he lost all control of the Board of Directors, but his reputation had also sunk to rock bottom. Today's incident would definitely spread throughout the business industry in Clearwater City and cause him to be a laughingstock. It seemed that it would be extremely difficult for him to gain back his reputation again.

"Chairman Wesley is right. I agree with everything that Chairman Wesley stated. Everyone, a round of applause!" One of the shareholders from the Harrison Family understood the situation clearly and took the initiative to gain favor.

*Clap! Clap! Clap!*

The rest of the people from the management department and the other minor shareholders followed his lead. At that moment, the conference room was suddenly filled with cheers and rounds of applause.

Everyone understood that the company had just undergone a drastic change in power. Only by following Chairman Wesley's footsteps could the company end up with good results in the future.

Although James and Charles initially revealed ugly expressions, they could only force a smile and follow suit to applaud and congratulate Chairman Wesley.

The two of them felt extremely bitter in their hearts. Now that they had lost every single advantage, it would already be a miracle for them to protect themselves in the Harrison Group in the future, much less put up a challenge and once again attain their positions of power.

...

Six hours later, at night.

At Grand Suites Hotel, in a luxury suite.

Wesley bowed and stood respectfully in front of the tea table as if waiting for an arrangement. On the sofa in front of him sat a young man wearing a plain white T-shirt.

A laptop, placed on the tea table, was playing everything that had happened in the meeting that took place at the Harrison Group's company building earlier that day.

"Well done," Ethan praised as he looked at the recording from the meeting and admired Wesley's abilities.

"Thank you, Director Ford. It is my duty to serve you," Wesley said in a humble tone.

Having served Norman by his side for many years, Wesley had seen many things with his own eyes. Thus, he acted with extreme caution in front of Ethan as he was afraid that he would accidentally offend him.

In particular, Norman had stated in private that he would do whatever Ethan ordered him to do at all costs. If he could not follow through with the order, he would have to ask for permission to cancel it. If Ethan was not satisfied, however, he would not have to return to the Ning Group.

Therefore, Wesley was even more respectful to Ethan than to Norman.

"Director Ford, the acquisition plan that was arranged according to your requirements went smoothly. Currently, Charles is severely weakened and is on his last legs. There are still a lot of business enemies waiting for the right moment to make their moves." Wesley reported. "However, since James and the Sterling Family of Clearwater City have a strong relationship with one another, the Sterling Family has stretched out a helping hand and transferred some funds over to him. Consequently, James managed to stabilize his current situation. In that case, should we attack them once again and destroy both families in one go?"

"There's no need for that," Ethan said calmly.

A cunning rabbit would obviously have a few more holes to escape into. Since the head of the Harrison Family had been operating in Clearwater City for many years, he would naturally have several deep connections that he could rely on. Thus, it was well within Ethan's expectations that he would be able to survive through such a crisis.

"By the way, you have to pay extra attention to the matter of William's jewelry factory," Ethan recalled a certain thought and said. "Everything will be handled according to the usual procedure. Make sure to give the factory director, William, the same benefits given to the other small shareholders of the Harrison Group's industrial chain."

Ethan had purposefully arranged for Wesley to purchase the Harrison's Jewelry Group, which naturally included the assets under Charles's family and the debts of his father-in-law's jewelry factory.

At the same time, he arranged for Wesley to organize all the factories under the name of the Harrison Group and give all of them the same benefits.

This way, his father-in-law's jewelry factory would have the opportunity to get back into the Harrison Group's industrial chain without it being too abrupt or obvious that there were some strings being pulled behind the scenes.

"I will act according to your arrangement," Wesley assured. "Director Ford, do you need to arrange an important position for William in the Board of Directors?"

"You don't have to be such a smartass," Ethan said plainly. "Just do as I say."

"I'm sorry, Director Ford. I understand," Wesley replied as he quickly readjusted his composure into an even more respectful manner.

Knowing who Ethan was, Wesley wanted to do whatever he could to curry favor. However, Ethan obviously had his own plans in mind. Thus, he simply needed to do as he was told in the future.

Ethan nodded slightly after seeing his response. Since Wesley was a smart person, there was no need for him to beat around the bush.

"When you return to the company, use the name of the board of directors to release a news bulletin stating that the company will be looking to recruit a number of creative jewelry designers and a Chief Design Officer," Ethan added.

"I will keep that in mind," Wesley replied.

"Alright, you may take your leave and report to me in the future," Ethan said plainly.

“I’ve been hearing something lately,” Robert said quietly. “A phrase making the rounds among the elite families in Imperial City — the Hartley Family is under control.”He let out a slow breath before continuing. “It means the Ashford Family has risen to the very top of Dragon Country, completely replacing the Hartley Family. Madam Ashford, the old master’s widow, has taken over everything—connections, businesses, influence… all of it.”His voice darkened. “There are fortune tellers all over Imperial City talking about it. Every reading points to the same thing—the Hartley Family’s luck has been cut off. Finished. Meanwhile, the Ashford Family has been building their rise for over a decade. According to them, this was inevitable… like fate itself decided it.”Ethan Ford stood still, his expression unreadable, though something cold flickered in his eyes.“What a load of nonsense,” Robert added bitterly. “The Ashford Family didn’t rise by fate—they wiped out the Hartley Family and took
