Andrew sat at the back seat of his car with a birthday invitation in his hand. It was the birthday of his ex-father-in-law, Mr. Nelson, and he knew that there would be a lot of people there so this was where he wanted to confront his ex-father-in-law.

Even though he won’t say much about what happened, he just wanted to make it known that he was alive because they wanted to kill him.

"Sir, we have arrived," the driver told him as he came to a stop. The driver got out of the car, walked around, and opened the back door for Andrew. Andrew stepped out calmly, his face expressionless, and walked straight to the entrance. He showed them his invitation, and the bodyguard in front of the door looked at him suspiciously.

"You seem familiar. Do I know you?" the bodyguard asked Andrew, narrowing his eyes. Even though Andrew had changed quite a bit, gaining a lot of muscle from the training he did over the past four years, the guard’s voice hinted at a faint recognition.

"I don’t know if you have met, but I need to get inside soon, so check the birthday card." Andrew’s tone was firm. The bodyguard looked at the invitation card, found nothing wrong with it, and told him to go inside, handing the invitation back.

Andrew took it and walked in without hesitation, knowing that he had gotten the card from someone who was supposed to attend the birthday but couldn’t, so he came on the person’s behalf.

When Andrew stepped into the hall where the birthday of his father-in-law was being held, his eyes scanned the ballroom, until his eyes finally landed on Mr. Nelson, his father in law, smiling and greeting guests. Andrew’s jaw clenched instantly. Beside Mr. Nelson stood Paul, his son, the same man who was the cause of his wife’s death.

"I will make you pay for this, even if it is the last thing I do," Andrew promised himself silently, his fingers curling into a fist, he walked towards Mr. Nelson and Paul, who were speaking with three other men.

"Congratulations on your success on your birthday. This is a double celebration to get such a good contract that has given you a lot of money. You are very lucky. This is really a good day," somebody told Mr. Nelson, and Mr. Nelson laughed happily.

"Yes, it is really a good day. That’s why I chose to celebrate today in the grand style. Be sure that you are going to leave with a lot of gifts," Mr. Nelson said proudly, gesturing towards the table stacked with wrapped boxes.

"Does that gift include giving my wife back to me?" Andrew asked loudly. The entire hall fell silent, and every head turned. Mr. Nelson’s smile froze before his lips parted in shock.

"Andrew, what are you doing here? Are you not supposed to be dead?" Mr. Nelson asked, his voice shaky, his eyes scanning Andrew’s face as if trying to confirm it was really him. Gasps echoed across the room.

"Well, given that you sent people to beat me up and kill me, I guess I shouldn’t be surprised if you think I died that day. Well, I survived," Andrew said without hesitation, his eyes never leaving Mr. Nelson’s. The men around Mr. Nelson and Paul exchanged uneasy glances.

Mr. Nelson gritted his teeth, aware that too many ears had caught those words. This was not the place for such accusations, and he wanted to know how Andrew got here, and why he was alive when the men he’d sent to kill him swore he was dead.

"How did you get in here? What are you even doing here? Are you sure you’re not an impostor?" Mr. Nelson asked, his voice rising slightly.

"Well, I got an invitation and I thought you’d be happy to see me.” Andrew smirked.

“I guess you’re not. Well, since you’re the one who wanted to kill me, why would you be happy to see me alive? And besides, I was never buried. What made you think that I was actually dead, if you were not the one behind those who tried to kill me?" Andrew said very loudly, and several guests leaned forward to hear better.

"Is that not Andrew, the son-in-law of Mr. Nelson? Did you hear him say that Mr. Nelson arranged for people to kill him?” one guest asked.

“I heard that his wife died, but I have not seen him in a long time, and he was never buried. Is it true that Mr. Nelson is that evil? What did he do?" somebody close to Mr. Nelson whispered to his friend.

"I don’t know what you’re doing here, but you have the wrong idea. You got out of contact with my family, so after your wife died and you didn’t come to take her body, I thought something had happened to you. That’s why I was surprised when I saw you here," Mr. Nelson said quickly, forcing a polite smile while trying to cover up his deeds.

"What nonsense are you talking about? I was at the hospital when my wife was sick. You were the one who sent your man to beat me up and take me away to kill me, but I somehow survived. Why are you trying to lie?" Andrew said, pointing directly at him. His voice carried across the hall, and the guests murmured in shock.

"Andrew, how dare you make such an accusation against my father at his birthday celebration? How did you even get here? Don’t you know that you can be sued for defamation? It will destroy your life," Paul yelled, stepping forward aggressively, but froze when he saw the murderous glare in Andrew’s eyes.

"Shut up your mouth, you stupid fool. If not because of you and your stupid body, would your parents have killed my wife to take her organs to give to you? That heart that beats in your chest, is that not my wife’s heart? How dare you even speak to me?" Andrew’s voice rose, trembling with rage.

Many people gasped in shock.

"Did he just say that his wife was killed so that her organ will be given to Paul? Are you sure it is not the reason why Mr. Nelson adopted his daughter?" a guest asked loudly.

Even though Andrew knew he might be sued for defamation, he knew Mr. Nelson couldn’t take him to court without exposing the truth.

He didn’t want an easy death for his father-in-law, he wanted to humiliate him, destroy his name, and ruin his credibility before ending him.

"What type of nonsense allegations are you saying against my father and against me? We did nothing to you. What evidence do you have to prove all this?" Paul asked, his voice tight. Andrew smiled coldly.

"Well, I would’ve had evidence if your father had not sent someone to kill the doctor who was in charge of my wife’s care four years ago. Wasn’t that the doctor who was killed in his sleep just a few days ago?" Andrew asked, tilting his head slightly. The crowd erupted into murmurs.

"It is true that a doctor died some days ago in the hospital that Mr. Nelson and his family visit," one person whispered.

"And the doctor’s death was mysterious because the police arrested him, and then he was hit in a police car, and then he died in the hospital when his condition was not even that serious. Are you sure that Mr. Nelson did not send them to kill him?" Another guest asked loudly.

"Well, for Andrew to come here and say all this after all these years, it means that it must be true," another said.

Mr. Nelson could see the situation slipping out of his control. Andrew’s smile widened as he watched his ex-father-in-law’s carefully built image crumble in front of friends and business partners.

"Where are the guards!" Mr. Nelson suddenly yelled. "Call the bodyguard to get Andrew out of here. It seems like his mental illness has gotten worse, and he’s just saying nonsense." His face was filled with anger, but his words were cold, trying to paint Andrew as unstable to save his reputation.

He knew that everybody was now watching him, so he didn’t want to say anything else. His bodyguards stepped forward, to grab Andrew and take him out of there. But when they stepped close, Andrew raised up his hand, motioning for them to stop.“There’s no need to grab me. I can leave here by myself. Besides, I can always go and meet my father-in-law in his office. We can have a nice talk there.” He laughed dryly, his eyes never leaving Mr. Nelson’s face, then turned around to walk away. The bodyguards’ jaws tightened, they couldn’t just stand by and watch him walk away after he had made such accusations against their boss. One of them shoved Andrew in the back.“Walk fast and get out of here,” the bo
