“Why is Mr. Nelson calling his bodyguard even though Andrew has made such allegations against him? Does it mean that he does not want to clear the allegations against our support?” someone murmured in the crowd, their eyes darting between the two men.

Mr. Nelson was done listening to them. He knew that everybody was now watching him, so he didn’t want to say anything else. His bodyguards stepped forward, to grab Andrew and take him out of there. But when they stepped close, Andrew raised up his hand, motioning for them to stop.

“There’s no need to grab me. I can leave here by myself. Besides, I can always go and meet my father-in-law in his office. We can have a nice talk there.” He laughed dryly, his eyes never leaving Mr. Nelson’s face, then turned around to walk away.

The bodyguards’ jaws tightened, they couldn’t just stand by and watch him walk away after he had made such accusations against their boss. One of them shoved Andrew in the back.

“Walk fast and get out of here,” the bodyguard growled.

Before the bodyguard’s hand could push him again, Andrew spun around, his fist clenching. In a lightning-quick motion, he swung, punching the bodyguard straight in the face. The man’s head snapped back violently as he stumbled, his legs giving way until he collapsed onto the ground, unconscious. Gasps were heard from the guests, Andrew was known to be very quiet, so for him to attack someone was beyond shocking.

“How dare you!” the second bodyguard yelled. He charged forward, but Andrew was faster. He raised his leg , his kick connecting with the man’s temple. The bodyguard’s eyes rolled back as he crashed into a group of startled guests, knocking over a table before hitting the floor.

People began screaming, moving away from the fight, as the remaining two bodyguards rushed him. One lunged, and Andrew sidestepped, driving his foot into the man’s stomach making the guard down, the last guard Andrew’s leg kicked his groin. He crumpled to the ground, hands clutching his groin.

Andrew turned to his father-in-law, his expression cold.

“We will meet another day. You know this is not the end of this,” he told him, voice low but sharp. Then he turned and began walking away. No one dared follow him or question what he had come there to do, or whether his allegations were true.

Outside, Andrew got into his car, the driver quickly pulling away from the building. This was only the start of his plan. Now he had to wait and see if his father-in-law would call the police or try to sue him.

Where would he get his home address?

How would he find him? For now, Andrew would simply watch and listen to any comment Mr. Nelson made about today. That would decide his next move.

Inside, after Andrew’s departure, Mr. Nelson stood in the middle of his guests as a storm of questions closed in on him.

“Mr. Nelson, how is it possible your son-in-law is alive and you didn’t know? How could he come here and make such allegations against you?” one of his guests asked, leaning forward.

Mr. Nelson chuckled nervously, straightening his suit jacket.

“He has a mental problem. Him and my daughter cut us off. Even though she died, I did not hear from him, so I thought he was late.”

“I don’t know what made him come here today. Maybe he has finally finished his treatments, but I think that is not the case because he still has some mental issues if he thinks I will harm my own daughter,” Mr. Nelson explained, forcing a smile.

“But Mr. Nelson, at the time of your daughter’s death, wasn’t your son also missing from the office? He said he went on a trip. Are you sure his allegations aren’t true?” another guest asked.

Mr. Nelson turned to the man, recognizing him as a business rival who never had his best interests at heart.

“I can assure you that my son went on a vacation. He has pictures to prove it. The death of my daughter had nothing to do with me, my family, or my son, it was just illness.” He replied calmly.

“But maybe, Andrew is the one who had a hand in her death, because we were not in communication for long,” Mr. Nelson answered, his voice firm. He knew if he didn’t address this here, the story would hit the news, so he tried to control the damage.

“Well, it’s actually hard to believe that your son, who has a health issue and heart failure, suddenly got better, while your daughter suddenly died. Besides, the first time you adopted her was when your son was young and sick. Maybe your son-in-law is actually right,” the guest pressed. Mr. Nelson’s jaw tightened.

“I think you should forget about what happened today and have a nice day on my birthday. Excuse me, I need to make a call,” Mr. Nelson said, turning to leave. But another voice stopped him.

“Don’t you think you should call the police and report this? He made a very strong allegation against you. You should sue him for defamation,” someone suggested.

Mr. Nelson turned back, wearing a controlled smile.

“My son-in-law has mental issues. I do not want to do something that will trigger him. The death of his wife must have done something to him, calling the police will make matters worse,” he replied evenly.

“What if not calling the police makes it seem like you have something to hide? What if he’s actually right?” another guest challenged.

Mr. Nelson scoffed. He knew he had many enemies in the business world, and now he could see how quickly they would pounce on an opportunity to drag him down. He needed to be careful.

“Enjoy the birthday and the gifts. I have something to do,” he said curtly, brushing past them.

As he left, guests exchanged hushed whispers.

“Are you sure that Mr. Andrew isn’t right? Mr. Nelson killed his adopted daughter. Besides, it’s not his biological daughter. He’d want to save his own blood and flesh… and his own son.”

“I know, right? I don’t even feel safe here anymore. I think I should leave. Are you sure the food is safe to eat? Would they try to kill me too?” another joked nervously.

Someone had already sent the report to the media, and the news outlets wasted no time publishing it.

Later, Mr. Nelson drove home from the party, he was gritting his teeth in anger. Once inside his mansion, he walked into his study and dialed a number. The call went through to the man he had once tasked with tracking and killing Andrew, someone who had told him Andrew was dead. But now, he wanted answers.

The line crackled before a voice came through.

“Did you get his location?” Mr. Nelson demanded.

The voice on the other end laughed, it was Andrew’s voice.

“So you’re the one who sent this useless man after me. You can come and take their body. I’m sure you’ll like this gift I give to you.” The line went dead.

Mr. Nelson lowered the phone slowly, his eyes narrowing. Andrew was back, and stronger than before. He needed to act fast, because if things continued like this, Andrew was going to destroy his reputation completely.

The driver got out of the car, walked around, and opened the back door for Andrew. Andrew stepped out calmly, his face expressionless, and walked straight to the entrance. He showed them his invitation, and the bodyguard in front of the door looked at him suspiciously."You seem familiar. Do I know you?" the bodyguard asked Andrew, narrowing his eyes. Even though Andrew had changed quite a bit, gaining a lot of muscle from the training he did over the past four years, the guard’s voice hinted at a faint recognition."I don’t know if you hav
