Inside the hall, the party was already in full swing.
Everywhere you look, servants were moving gracefully among the guests, serving wine and exotic dishes too expensive to pronounce. Laughter echoed beneath glittering chandeliers. Music played softly in the background, mixing with the pounding rain from outside, drowning out the carnage unfolding beyond the walls. At the far end of the room, the fireplace was burning intensely. With golden charcoals reserved only by powerful houses like the Briarwoods, the sight alone was breathtaking. Then everything came shattering down in an instant. BOOM! The heavy doors ripped off of its hinges, crashing down on the marble floor, sending a cloud of dust and debris into the air. Every head turned towards the entrance. The music stopped. Servants froze mid step. One by one, conversation died out as hundreds of eyes remained fixed on the shattered entrance. The cloud of dust soon cleared, revealing a man standing in the shattered doorway. Tall. Fair. With black, curly hair falling over his eye, leaving only one visible eye staring into the hall. His entire suit was soaked through from the storm, water dripping from the fabric and pooling on the marble floor beneath him. For several seconds, no one said a word. No one moved. Then the guests erupted. “What the hell!” “Who the hell let this rat in?” “How the hell did he get through the gates?” The snickers weren't subtle. They made sure Jake heard every single word. Jake didn’t respond. He didn’t even move. He just stood there, his lone eye fixed on the fire burning in the grand fireplace ahead. Something stirred within his chest as he stared into the dancing flames, memories from his childhood days flashing through his mind. He remembered sitting before that very fireplace during the cold winter nights, his little sister beside him and his mother sitting across from them. She would tell them stories about the great Blackwood Clan, her voice filling the room with warmth as the fire crackled between them. He blinked, and the memories were gone. Jake gritted his teeth, anger coursing through every vein in his body like electricity. Just then, a woman came walking towards the commotion. She was a beautiful blonde haired lady with tanned skin, accompanied by five men wearing tactical gears like the ones Jake had fought outside. The only difference was that these men were different. More composed. More muscular. And far more dangerous. An ominous aura radiated from them, the kind that could make even a grown man lose his nerve. The moment the guests saw the woman, relief flooded through their faces instantly. “It’s lady Nela.” “She came here with the Black Hand. The stranger is finished.” “Finally , he’ll learn his place.” Nela walked toward Jake, her heels clicking sharply against the marble floor with every step. She stopped three steps away from him, a deep frown creasing her beautiful face. “You!” she barked, pointing an accusing finger at him. “Who are you and how did you get into this hall?” “I’m the landlord,” Jake replied almost instantly, his voice cold as ice. “You all are standing on private property.” Nela gritted her teeth, her body trembling with barely restrained anger. She was Nela Young, a servant of the Briarwoods and the woman responsible for hosting Novak’s hall tonight. She pointed at Jake, her voice rising into a furious bark, “you arrogant bastard! How dare you interrupt Lord Cassian’s party? I’ll make sure you pay for this with your life!” The moment she finished speaking, the five men behind her stepped forward without waiting to be ordered. Two wielded axes, while the other three gripped daggers tightly in their hands. Together, they charged at Jake from different angles, attacking simultaneously in an attempt to overwhelm him. This time around, Jake didn’t wait for them to reach him. He covered the distance between them in an instant, moving at unnatural speed. He caught the first man's wrist and twisted it swiftly, breaking his bone before driving a powerful punch into his stomach. The man flew backwards, crashing into another guard before slamming hard against the wall and sliding to the ground. Unmoving. The remaining three came simultaneously from different angles, weapons raised and hoping to finish Jake in one strike. Bam! Bam! Bam! Jake landed three strikes consequently in the blink of an eye. One blow to the neck, one to the stomach and the final one to the head. Each man was sent flying backward, crashing into the far wall with enough force to crack the plaster before sliding down to the floor. Unmoving. Silence descended over the hall. Every head turned towards Jake in stunned disbelief. Nela wasn’t left behind either. She stood frozen among her scattered men, her usual composure gone. The black Hand were no ordinary men. They were men personally handpicked and trained by Elder Killian himself—one of the highest ranking martial artists in the Briarwoods family. They were ten times more powerful than the guards stationed outside the hall. Yet, they had been defeated so easily. By a single man no less. Jake slowly straightened, his eyes fixed on Nela’s trembling figure. “Where’s Cassian?” He asked softly, his voice dripping with venom. Nela trembled as she took several steps backwards. Just then, a single man emerged from the shadows and walked towards the commotion. He was huge. Shirtless. A thick cigar hung from the corner of his mouth, while nearly every inch of his muscular body was covered with tattoos. The moment Nela saw him, the fear in her eyes disappeared. Her confidence returned. A wicked smile slowly curled across her lips. “Now you’re dead.”Latest Chapter
Chapter 19 - Voodoo Spell
Claire’s face darkened instantly. “What the hell did you just say?”She turned to her husband, her anger rising. “Honey, where the hell did you find this quack doctor? He just said he wants to get our daughter naked.”Even Richard was taken aback and didn’t know how to respond. After a moment, he finally spoke. “Mr. Jake, my wife is right. What do you mean you want to get our daughter naked?”Just then, the door burst open and a man hurried in, followed by a middle aged doctor.“Mother, I came with Doctor Adrian as you ordered,” David, Elena’s brother, announced. “Fortunately, we didn’t have to wait until tomorrow. Now my sister can finally be saved.”Claire’s face lit with joy. “Doctor Adrian, thanks so much for coming.” she said ecstatically, rushing towards him. “Please save my daughter.”Claire didn’t believe Jake was a doctor, and the fact that he had just said he wanted her daughter naked only made her distrust him even more.Doctor Adrian, on the other hand, was a divine doctor

The moment his eyes landed on Richard, he rushed towards him, his eyes filled with a mixture of joy and panic. It had been three days since the patriarch had left to find the miracle doctor, but he hadn’t returned until now. Everyone had feared that something terrible had happened to him. After all, they all knew how dangerous the outskirts could be.“Sir, why did it take you so long to return? We thought something had happened to you,” the butler, a man in his forties, asked as soon as he reached Richard.“It’s a long story,” Richard replied, staring at him. “I’ll tell you all about it later. For now, where’s Elena?”“She’s in her room, sir. But her condition has gotten much worse since you left. I’m afraid she might not make
Chapter 17 - Pleases Save My Daughter
Seeing the condition the man was in, Jake didn’t waste any time and jumped into the van. Within seconds, he had the man brought outside, where he was now leaning against one of the tombstones Jake quickly untied the ropes binding his hands and took a moment to observe him. Gray eyes. Blonde hair and a neatly trimmed beard. He was dressed in a perfectly tailored blue suit and tie, and bleeding from what appeared to be a stab wound. The man looked to be around fifty years old. Judging from the way he was dressed, Jake could tell he came from a wealthy family. But why would someone like him be on this side of Ashbourne? “P-please, help me,” the man whispered, breaking Jake out of his thoughts. Jake got to work immediately, knowing the man would die if he didn’t do something. Squatting down, he gently placed a hand over the man’s wound. Within seconds, Aether began swirling around his palm before spreading into the wound The next second, the wound began closing and soon
Chapter 16 - No Human Being Deserves To Die Like This
Back in northern Ashbourne, silence reigned over the Briarwood estate like a storm. The dark clouds tore open and rain poured heavily, hammering against the windowpanes and mirroring the storm brewing inside the Briarwood villa. Inside one of the luxurious rooms of the villa, Cassian lay sprawled across the king size bed, his eyes closed, his body pale as snow. Dead. His chest was caved inward, as though it had been repeatedly pummeled with a hammer. His once-handsome face was crushed beyond recognition, and his legs were bent at angles no human body should ever be. Beside him, Martha Briarwood, the matriarch of the Briarwood family knelt on the floor beside him, wailing, crying, and begging for him to wake up. Her hair was a mess from all the crying, and her makeup was completely ruined. Standing around her were Elder Kane, the fourth-ranked martial artist of the Briarwood family and her personal guard. Samuel, the head of security and a man who had served the Briarwoo
Chapter 15 - Hour Of Carnage
In the span of a few seconds, the men broke into action.Crowbars, hammers, machetes and bat lines with nails gleamed under the midday sun as the men charged forward, the toolkit of men who did this for a living. They came from different angles, not a hint of hesitation on their faces, going for vital points immediately.“Stay here,” Jake commanded Elijah before charging towards them alone. He closed the distance between them in a single second, grabbed the incoming axe aimed toward his head and in one swift motion, chopped the man’s head clean off.The man dropped to his knees, his hands flailing in the air before he collapsed on the ground.Dead.Jake didn’t waste another second. He charged towards the next man, grabbed his arm, and chopped off his other hand in the same instant. The man’s screams echoed through the churchyard as blood gushed from the severed limb like a fountain. Jake drove the axe into his chest without hesitation before kicking him in the same spot, driving the b
Chapter 14 - Surround Me?
The silence that followed was deafening. The men stared back in stunned disbelief for what felt like forever before they suddenly bursted out laughing.“So hilarious!”“He just called us punching bags!”“Damn aristocrats and their delusions. He must thinks he’s still in Ashburne!”Another wave of mocking laughter erupted from the group. Some laughed until there were tears rolling down their faces. Others were basically rolling on the ground as they held their weapons.Jake didn’t say a word. His expression didn’t change either. He just stood there, watching as each man continued laughing.Besides him, Elijah clenched his fist in anger, the veins on his neck visibly bulging. How dare this lowly pest disrespect his master. He turned towards Jake, his head slightly bowed. “Master, just give me the command and I’ll deal with these pests,” he said, his voice filled with quiet conviction.Jake turned his head slightly. “No need,” he said coldly. “I still need to let off some steam.”The men
