Meanwhile, back at the cliff — the icy sea breeze whipped against their skin, tugging at their clothes and hair. The first rays of the sun were already glimmering across the horizon, casting a bloody orange glow upon the dramatic scene.

Peter knelt on the gravel, phone in hand, knuckles white against its casing. His whole arm trembled, not from the chilly air but from pure fear. His breath was heavy and staggered as he pressed the phone against his ear.

“Butler… please… please listen to me… you… you don't know who these people are.” His voice faltered, threatening to break. “They’re not… not ordinary people. They’re… they're ruthless. They’re… monsters in human skin!”

The butler remained unfazed on the other side of the phone. “Master Peter, please calm down. Whatever trouble you’re in, we will resolve it. The Gravesend family is the most powerful in Ravensmoor. There’s nothing we can’t handle once you’re safely back in the city.”

Peter’s grip tightened. His knuckles were nearly bone

The Next Day Gray clouds loomed over the city like a curtain of judgment. The streets, normally quiet at this hour, were buzzing with an uneasy tension. Dozens of men stood stationed at every intersection, alley, rooftop, and building. Their black suits, sunglasses, and earpieces made them look more like elite operatives than mere hired guns. The butler—an older man with sharp features, silver-streaked hair, and the calm demeanor of someone who'd seen too much—walked among them, hands clasped behind his back.“Positions,” he barked. “I want full lockdown. No one goes in. No one comes out. Understood?”“Yes, sir!” the men responded in unison, their voices crisp and alert. One of the younger enforcers stepped forward hesitantly. “Big brother… are we not giving these robbers too much face? This setup… it’s like preparing for a royal procession.”A few of the others chuckled, but the butler didn’t. He exhaled a plume of smoke from his cigarette, eyes narrowed like a hawk surveying prey.

At a restaurant, Jaden, Julie, Marvin and Drax were seen. The restaurant was filled with a rich, warm ambiance — the kind that made you forget your worries, if only for a moment. The table was a riot of food: crispy chicken, grilled meats, dumplings, noodles — a feast fit for a king and his soldiers.Drax was tearing into a whole chicken with the kind of pure, raw hunger that seemed to come from deep within his soul. His hands were greasy, his face smeared with the rich, savory juice, yet he remained unfazed by the stares from nearby diners.“I still haven’t properly thanked you for saving Julie, Jaden.” Marvin sighed quietly, glimmer of regret creeping into his voice. “If you hadn’t gotten there in time… it would have been nearly impossible to bring her back from the Gravesends.”Jaden glanced up from his plate, a softness creeping into his piercing gaze. “Don’t thank me, Uncle Marvin. Julie is my family… my blood. I’d walk through hell itself if it meant keeping her safe.”Marvin no

Williams remained sitting, unfazed by the nervousness that seemed to ripple through the room. His knuckles tightened briefly around his crystal glass of whiskey, then fell back into a casual grip.“No.” His voice was firm, icy. “Say it here.”The servant faltered, glancing around at the congregation of powerful men — all members of the Gravesend family and its empire — then nodded reluctantly. The butler let out a rich, scornful chuckle. “The thief must be shaken to his core by Master Williams’ power.” He turned back toward his master with a smug confidence. “He probably wants to come here in person… to kneel… to apologize in your own home.”Williams remained composed, unfazed by the sycophantic words. He raised his glass and took a sip of whiskey — slow, deliberate — letting the rich flavor calm the rage beneath his icy exterior."Hmph.” An elderly advisor crossed his arms. “Now it’s much too late. Guys like him shouldn’t be shown mercy.”The butler nodded, adding in a sinister tone,

Jaden turned back toward Peter, letting silence weigh heavy in the chilly air. His piercing gaze fell upon him — not in rage, but in icy resolve — as if marking him, choosing him, framing him to carry a message that words could not convey.“Your adopted father thinks this is a joke… a minor matter… something a piece of black card can resolve.” Jaden’s voice was firm and gravelly, a king’s sentence upon a traitor. “It’s time I show him just how serious this is.”He raised his hand, and without a word, Drax stepped forward from the shadows. His large hands presented a katana — a blade forged in the finest steel, a shimmering curve of death itself. Jaden grasped it casually, letting the metal glimmer under the dim glow of the heavens.Peter’s knees trembled beneath him. His face turned ashen, lips quivering. “N… no… King… please… please… I beg you… please, spare me… please… please...” His voice faltered into a desperate whine.Jaden remained silent. His grip tightened on the hilt. Then —

Jaden smirked. "So you want redemption? since you're not their biological child I'll give you a chance."Jaden pressed his phone against the side of his face, a mischievous spark glimmering in his piercing eyes.“Here’s your chance at redemption, Peter.”Peter nodded weakly, nearly trembling as much from fear as from anticipation. His hands were shaky, knuckles white against the gravel beneath him.Jaden tossed the phone toward him casually — a small black rectangle spinning through the air — and it fell into Peter’s hands with a soft thud.“Call him. Call your… ‘father’.”Peter swallowed hard. His thumb hovered over the phone’s touchscreen. His pulse pounded in his ears. For a moment, silence fell — the kind of oppressive silence that seemed to squeeze the soul. Then, with a shaky breath, Peter pressed the call button.Meanwhile, back in the sprawling Gravesend Mansion — a place filled with rich carpets, dark wooden furniture, and a heavy, oppressive atmosphere — the 35th anniversary
