The main gate of the Drakon Clan opened slowly. Kaelan stood in front of it, his clothes still covered in dust and blood. A tattered cloth bag hung over his shoulder, containing only two worn-out clothes and a little dry bread that wasn't even enough to last him a day.

No one saw him off, no one said goodbye. Behind him, the sound of laughter could still be heard.

"Look! That bastard is really gone!"

"Don't come back!"

"If you die out there, don't dirty your ancestors' graves!"

Kaelan closed his eyes for a moment.

For eighteen years, he had lived in a place called home.

But today he realized that home had never truly accepted him. He stepped out without looking back.

As soon as he passed through the gate, two guards immediately closed the giant door behind him.

Bang!

The sound of the gate closing sounded like it was burying his entire past.

***

Evening was beginning to fall when Kaelan arrived at the mountain road, his stomach starting to growl.

He hadn't eaten anything since morning, so he took out a piece of hardened bread. Just as he was about to bite into it, a voice rang out clearly.

"Hey!" Three burly men appeared from behind the bushes, wearing shabby clothes with rusty swords at their waists. They were bandits.

"Hand over all your belongings."

Kaelan sighed softly. "I don't have anything."

The bearded man laughed. "Then we'll take your clothes."

The three immediately approached. Kaelan took a step back, even though he didn't have a Spiritual Core, he had still practiced martial arts since childhood. When the first man swung his machete, Kaelan tilted his body. The machete hit the ground. Kaelan retaliated with a punch to his opponent's stomach.

Thud!

The man staggered, but before Kaelan could breathe a sigh of relief, two other bandits attacked him from behind.

Bang!

A kick hit his back, Kaelan's body fell rolling on the rocky ground.

"Hahaha!"

"He said he was the son of a big clan!"

"So it's this weak."

One of the bandits snatched Kaelan's cloth bag while the other took his last piece of bread. "Thank you for the gift."

They left laughing. Kaelan could only clench his fists. He couldn't even hold on to his last piece of food.

***

The sky turned dark and rain fell without warning. Kaelan took shelter under a large tree. His clothes were soaked, his body shivered, his stomach felt like it was being squeezed.

"Is this what it feels like to live without a place to go home?" He smiled bitterly.

Suddenly a sound was heard from the trees.

Kraak!

The sound of a twig breaking could be heard from behind the trees. Kaelan immediately stood up. A Horned Wolf came out from behind the bushes.

Its eyes were glowing red and its saliva dripped to the ground. A Level One monster, even though it was the weakest, was still much stronger than an ordinary human.

A low growl filled the forest. The wolf pounced on Kaelan, rolling away. The monster's claws tore the tree trunk to shreds.

Dust flew up. Kaelan grabbed a branch.

He knew it wouldn't be enough to kill the monster. But he had no choice the wolf attacked again.

Kaelan stabbed the branch but unfortunately the branch broke.

The monster only took a step back its ferocious gaze became even more terrifying.

"Woe..." Kaelan slowly backed away as his back touched the cliff.

There was no way the wolf could jump back. Kaelan closed his eyes in resignation.

Sret!

A flash of light flashed as blood spurted into the air. The Horned Wolf's body split in two before falling to the ground. Kaelan opened his eyes.

An old man stood a few steps in front of him carrying a long sword that was still dripping blood.

"Elder Garrick..." Kaelan was shocked. "Shouldn't Master have returned?"

Garrick shook his head slowly. "I won't let you face this world alone."

The old man's face looked pale as if he was hiding something. Kaelan just realized Garrick's robe was torn at the shoulder and blood continued to flow from a fairly deep wound.

"Master, you're injured!" Kaelan said, looking at the wound on Garrick's shoulder.

"Just a small wound."

But before Garrick could continue his sentence, his gaze turned sharp as he turned towards the trees.

"Get out."

The forest was silent again, a few seconds later four black-robed figures stepped out from the shadows. Each wore a silver mask with a black crescent moon symbol on their chests. Garrick's heart was beating fast.

"Order of Eclipse..."

The leader of the group smiled faintly.

"Long time no see, Garrick."

"We came to take the child."

Kaelan frowned. "Take me?"

The black-robed man looked at Kaelan from head to toe.

"So... He's still alive." His cold gaze turned into killing intent. "Then kill him."

The four black-robed figures immediately drew their swords. A terrifying aura filled the entire forest.

Garrick immediately stood in front of Kaelan, his face no longer looking like a weak old servant.

His gaze turned sharp like a warrior who had experienced hundreds of battles.

"Kaelan… Whatever happens, don't look back."

Kaelan's heart was beating faster and faster, he didn't yet understand who they were. But one thing he began to realize was that his expulsion from the Dragon Clan was not a coincidence
