When humanity is moved into a world covered by endless ocean, every adult receives a fragile hut, a few supplies, and one command: survive. Some begin with safe waters, large crews, and family wealth. Others are sent to places where the sea is already waiting to kill them. Ethan Cole is sent to the Dead Sea by the family that has always treated him as disposable. In his first life, he dies after building a powerful kingdom, only to have his stepfamily steal it from him. Then he wakes up on the day the ocean apocalypse begins. This time, Ethan knows where the monsters appear, which ruins hide impossible rewards, and when the great disasters will arrive. He has no desire to serve the Cole family again. From a damaged hut and a nearly worthless territory, he will build a kingdom that no one can take. Major Outline

Chapter 1: The Day the Sea Took Him Back

Ethan Cole died in the throne room he had built over ten years of storms, monster tides, and hungry winters.

The hall of the Ocean Crown shook under cannon fire. His banners burned outside the windows. Men who had eaten from his stores and sailed under his protection now stood behind Victoria Cole.

His stepmother looked as calm as ever. Her silver hair was pinned neatly. Her white gloves had no dust on them.

“You made a fine kingdom, Ethan,” Victoria said. “But you were never meant to own it.”

Julian Cole stood beside her in Ethan’s sea-king armor. It hung badly on him, but his smile was bright with greed.

“Don’t look so wounded,” Julian said. “You were always Father’s mistake. I’m just taking back the family investment.”

Richard Cole did not smile. That hurt more.

Ethan leaned on his cracked spear and stared at the man who had raised him like a spare tool. “I saved your ships. I paid your debts. I sent you cores when your own ports starved.”

Richard adjusted his cuff. “And now your assets must return to proper management. The Cole name cannot be tied to a common sea tyrant.”

Victoria lifted a black contract stone. Ethan felt the ownership chains in his territory core twist.

Julian came close and lowered his voice. “Next time, build something smaller.”

Julian drove Ethan's own core blade through the seal in his chest. The kingdom vanished from Ethan's senses. His last sight was Richard turning away while Victoria claimed the throne.

Then Ethan opened his eyes to a System notice he had seen twenty years ago.

[System Transfer Day initiated.]

[Welcome, Survivor Ethan Cole.]

[You have been assigned a starting territory.]

[Zone: Dead Sea.]

[Territory Grade: Ruined Hut.]

[Territory Core: Damaged Basic Core.]

[Beginner Protection: 7 days. Other survivors cannot directly attack your territory. Monsters and hazards are not restricted.]

He rolled off the straw mat and checked the hut. One room. Three broken walls. A roof patched with kelp rope. A territory core the size of a fist sat in a stone bowl, gray and weak.

Dead Sea.

But years later, he had learned the truth. The Dead Sea hid ancient ruins under its cursed reefs.

The Blue Dragon Ruins.

[Rot-Shell Crab. Level 1.]

A claw punched through the rotten wall beside his head.

Ethan dropped under the second swing and seized a loose roof spike. The crab forced half its shell into the hut, trapping itself between two broken beams. He remembered that weak joint from thousands of later hunts.

He struck under the left eye. The spike slipped. A claw cut his shoulder and threw him against the core bowl.

Pain cleared the last doubt. This was not a dream, and his old strength had not returned with his memory.

The crab charged again. Ethan kicked the damaged wall brace loose. The beam fell across its claw. He drove the spike through the exposed joint, twisted, and held on until the monster stopped moving.

Beginner protection did not stop monsters. He had forgotten nothing.

[Monster Core acquired: Rot-Shell Core, Low Grade.]

His damaged territory core pulsed weakly from the bowl inside the hut. Repairing it would be smart. Food and walls mattered.

A strip of blue metal was lodged in the creature’s back, grown over by barnacles. It was not random scrap. It bore a dragon-scale pattern and three tiny notches along one edge.

Ethan washed it in seawater. The notches pointed north-east by tide pull, not by compass. He remembered old sailors dying for such markers years later.

The Blue Dragon path had found him on the first day.

Ethan looked at the hut, the weak core, and the blue marker in his hand.

He fed half the crab core into the territory core. The gray light strengthened by a thread.

[Emergency repair available: Wall brace, 1 hour.]

The sea hissed beyond the stones. Somewhere under it waited a ruin no public guide had ever mapped.

Ethan closed his fist around the blue marker.

He had seven days of beginner protection. The horn suggested the tide’s hunting pack would reach his boundary in hours, not days. That changed the plan.

Crab tracks and overturned shells marked a path heading northeast. Each few paces the blue marker’s edge warmed as if it tugged him forward.

Ethan moved quick and quiet. He counted risks. He had limited healing without cores to spare. A prolonged fight would bleed him dry. But the marker offered a clue and possibly reward. In his first life, he had followed a similar trail and found a sealed stair to ruin that later fed an entire fleet.

Ahead, barnacle-carved stones rose from the shallows. The Blue Dragon motif peeked in friezes under weed. Ethan felt his chest tighten. This was the right line.

He crawled forward and found a half-buried crest: a carved dragon head with three notches on its jaw. The blue strip would fit into a groove there.

He wrapped the blue marker in oilcloth and tucked it into his shirt. Then he stepped onto the stair and went down.

[Ancient Node detected: Blue Dragon Minor Node. Level: Unknown.]

He could take it, use it here, or seal the chamber and wait for better tools. Time was against him—the horn’s sound had grown closer. He needed progress, not safety.

He pressed the spike into the crystal’s base and pulled. The node detached with a pop and a rush of cool, dry air. The chamber’s glyphs glowed faint blue and a gentle current of knowledge brushed his mind: a map fragment showing a deeper stair, a crate symbol, and a warning of a guardian beyond.

[Ancient Node acquired: Blue Dragon Minor Node. Effect: Reveals nearby Blue Dragon route and single-use map fragment. Single use. Consumes on activation.]

Ethan exhaled. He had a path, a tiny reward, and a clear risk. He slid the node into a cloth pouch, tied it to his belt, and climbed back toward the surface with the tide pressing at his heels.

Above, the hunting horn sounded again—closer and angrier. Shapes moved over the reef where he had walked. Beginner protection would not stop the pack forever.

He reached his boundary line with a plan. He had repaired one wall brace, gained a low-grade core, and secured a route into the Blue Dragon Ruins. It was not much. It was enough.

He lay back on the straw mat and smiled once, small and dangerous. He was not a king yet. He was not invincible. He had a plan and a map fragment that started the line to the Blue Dragon Ruins.

“They don’t know I’m alive,” he whispered. “Not yet.”
