The night wind blew hard, fallen leaves filling the suddenly silent forest. Kaelan stood frozen behind Elder Garrick. His gaze shifted between the four black-robed figures that slowly surrounded them. For the first time in his life, he felt such a thick murderous aura. The black-robed leader stepped forward.
"You should have died years ago, Garrick."
Elder Garrick raised his sword.
"I'm still breathing. That means you failed."
The black-robed man chuckled softly.
"You think you can stop the Order of Eclipse alone?"
Kaelan frowned. "Order of Eclipse." He muttered softly, a name he had never heard before.
But seeing the change in Garrick's expression, he knew that the organization was no ordinary enemy.
"Sir… Who are they?"
Garrick didn't turn around.
"People who should never have known about your existence."
Kaelan didn't have time to ask again.
Sret!
One of the black-robed men disappeared from where he stood very quickly
Kaelan didn't even have time to see his shadow.
Bang!
Sparks flew as Garrick parried the attack. The clash of swords echoed throughout the forest.
"Young Master! No matter what you see later. Do not join the fight!"
Bang!
The wave of energy from the impact forced Kaelan to take several steps back. His eyes widened; he had always thought Garrick was just an old servant.
But the power he displayed now far surpassed even the elders of the Drakon Clan.
"Master… So you…"
Before Kaelan could finish speaking, three other figures joined in the attack, four swords in four different directions. But Garrick remained standing.
Scratch!
With one slash, two swords were deflected, and with one kick, a black-robed man struck a tree, breaking its trunk. Their leader narrowed his eyes.
"As I thought, the former Sovereign's Personal Guard is not to be underestimated."
Kaelan froze.
“The Sovereign’s Personal Guard? Who exactly is Garrick?” All these questions danced in his mind.
“What a shame.” The leader smiled faintly. “You’re too old.”
The four men attacked again simultaneously. This time they didn’t give him a single chance.
Sret! Sret! Sret!
Swords clashed endlessly, sparks filling the air. But slowly Garrick’s breath began to become ragged.
The wound on his shoulder began to bleed again. Kaelan gritted his teeth.
“I have to help.”
He picked up a sharp branch, just one step away from helping Garrick.
“STOP!” Garrick’s shout echoed. “If you move forward, all my sacrifices will be in vain!”
Kaelan stopped, his hands trembling.
He hated this feeling, this feeling of uselessness. This feeling of just watching others fight for him.
Crash!
One of the swords finally managed to pierce Garrick’s side. Blood spurted out but the old man remained standing.
He actually laughed. “Is that all?”
The black-robed leader sighed.
"End it."
Two men immediately moved towards Kaelan. Their gazes were filled with killing intent. As their swords were about to reach Kaelan's neck...
BOOM!
Garrick's aura exploded, a powerful wave of energy sweeping across the forest.
The four attackers were sent flying dozens of meters
Kaelan was also pushed to the ground.
"Sir!"
He stared at Garrick with wide eyes. The old man's hair was slowly turning completely white, the wrinkles on his face increasing in an instant. It was as if he had just sacrificed the last of his life. Garrick took out an old map scroll from under his robe. His blood-stained hands handed it to Kaelan.
"Listen to me..." His voice began to weaken. "Go to the Forbidden Mountains. Follow this map, trust no one."
Kaelan accepted the map with trembling hands. "But Sir... come with me."
Garrick smiled, the warm smile he had always shown since Kaelan was a child.
"Sorry... I can't."
Kaelan shook his head vigorously. "No!"
"We can go together!"
Garrick raised his hand and stroked Kaelan's head one last time.
"Young Master… From today on, you must learn to stand on your own two feet."
Tears began to well up in Kaelan's eyes.
"Please… Don't leave me."
There was a moment of silence, then Garrick whispered softly.
"Never believe that you are an illegitimate child."
Kaelan's eyes widened. "What do you mean, Master?"
But Garrick didn't answer, he pushed Kaelan's body towards a narrow gap behind the bushes.
"Go!"
"But…"
"GO!" Garrick's voice echoed.
At the same time, the four members of the Order of Eclipse stood back up. Their leader smiled coldly.
"He won't escape."
Garrick raised his sword once more.
"You… will have to pass over my dead body first."
Kaelan stood a few steps away, his chest feeling tight. He wanted to stay but Garrick's gaze said it all.
If he stayed the old man's sacrifice would be in vain with the tears that continued to flow Kaelan finally turned and ran into the dark forest.
Behind him the sound of clashing swords echoed again, screams even explosions and then a very familiar shout.
"Young Master... Live..."
Kaelan's st
eps stopped for a moment, his tears falling to the ground. But he did not dare to look back because for the first time in his life he was truly alone.

CRAAAK...The stone door slowly closed behind him. The scraping sound echoed until it completely disappeared. Kaelan turned to the wall, tight, no gaps, no handle. He pushed with all his strength but it didn’t budge.“There’s really no way back.” He lowered his hands, breathing short. “The old man said I would go in alone. That means I have to rely on myself.”He turned to face the long corridor bathed in faint blue light from the crystals on the quiet walls, dark at the far end.Kaelan took a slow step, then another. At first, it was normal until his body suddenly felt heavy.“What…” His chest tightened. He tried to flow his empty spiritual energy. As usual, yet the pressure here was different, pressing from all directions, stronger the further he stepped. He hastened his pace.BOOM!His knees hit the floor.“Argh!” He propped himself up with both hands, breath racing. “No enemies,”Is there no trap here?He got up, his legs trembling, then fell again. Blood that shouldn't exist
"Finally... the blood came back."The Voice of the Tomb keeper echoed filling the ancient stone room. Kaelan was still standing transfixed, staring at the gigantic creature that was now kneeling low before him the creature that a moment before had almost taken his life."What do you mean?"his voice sounded quiet and trembling. "What blood do you mean?"The creature's golden eyes stared straight at him. "Your blood.""Why are you kneeling? Why treat me like this?"There was silence for a moment and then the heavy voice came back."Because you are a sealed descendant."Kaelan froze in place. "Descendants... which is sealed?"The old man behind him instantly squinted, his hands clutching his wine jug tightly. "Repeat once more.""Sealed descent," repeated the Tomb Guard. The old man nodded slowly, his breathing heavy. "I knew from the beginning."Kaelan immediately turned to face him. "You know something? All this time, you know?!""I just have a guess.""Guess?!"Kaelan stepped closer,

The trees that were once green were now black, the ground was filled with cracks.Even the air felt much colder. Kaelan felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end."What is this place?"The old man answered without turning his head."The border of the Forbidden Mountains."Kaelan's steps stopped. The Forbidden Mountains, the place Garrick had mentioned before sacrificing his life.Unconsciously, he tightly clutched the old map under his clothes. The old man glanced at him."You finally took it out."Kaelan froze. "I know more than you imagine."That answer made Kaelan even more wary, he took a step back."Sir… Who exactly are you?"For the first time, the old man wasn't joking, his gaze turned sharp."Now… You don't deserve to know my name yet, but there's one thing you should remember."He pointed towards the mountains s
The Madman in the Valley of the Mist
