A man beside her nodded.
George Daverick.
The man had been Damian’s best friend since they were both in the fifth grade of elementary school.
The best friend who had betrayed him.
“There’s no possibility that he survived,” he whispered with a wink.
Celine smiled.
“Good.”
The pen touched the paper.
But just before her signature was complete, her phone vibrated.
A message had arrived. It was from Celine’s assistant.
Celine opened the message.
There was only one sentence: "Damian’s younger sister is on her way there."
Celine’s face changed instantly.
“What right does she have to enter my company?” Celine stood up in panic and slammed her hand against the table.
The man who had been sitting beside her chuckled softly. There was a mocking look in his eyes as he watched Celine’s expression change.
“Damian’s younger sister? That tomboy racer?”
Celine placed her phone on the table in annoyance. “Natalie Blackwood.”
The name made the man’s smile grow even wider.
Everyone in the Blackwood family knew Natalie. The nineteen-year-old girl was Damian’s only younger sister. Ever since their parents died, Damian had raised her in his own way. Natalie could buy whatever she wanted, change motorcycles whenever she pleased, and even cause trouble outside the house several times without ever receiving any serious punishment.
Many people considered Natalie a spoiled girl who only knew how to have fun.
She was rarely serious about studying. She often skipped school until Damian had to take her there himself and monitor her attendance through the classroom CCTV.
Her school uniform was often wrinkled. Her hair was sometimes tied carelessly, and she was the student who most often fell asleep in class without anyone daring to reprimand her.
She was also well known for her love of motorcycle racing, especially 1000cc racing bikes that even made some adults reluctant to approach her.
However, there was one thing that many people did not know. Natalie had an extremely sharp mind.
“She probably came to look for her brother’s body,” George said casually.
Celine looked at him without a smile. “She won’t find anything. Have you seen how badly that car was destroyed? The wreckage might already be shark food.”
Celine had already thought about this possibility ever since Damian was declared dead.
Natalie might still be young, but she was not stupid.
Celine knew about Natalie’s technological abilities. The girl had once hacked into the company’s security system simply because she wanted to prove to Damian that the system he was so proud of had a weakness. At that time, Natalie had been only ten years old.
Damian had not merely scolded her. Instead, he had laughed and praised his younger sister’s abilities, then provided her with a computer room equipped with the latest and most advanced equipment.
That was why Celine had never underestimated her.
Ever since she took control of Blackwood Group, all the main passwords had been changed. The old access had been disabled. The security system had been upgraded. Even the company’s internal network had been reinforced with a much stricter cybersecurity system.
Celine had already closed every door before Natalie even had a chance to knock.
“Let her come if she dares,” Celine said coldly. “I want to see what a nineteen-year-old girl can do.”
As soon as she finished speaking, the roar of a powerful 500cc motorcycle could already be heard outside the Blackwood Group building before it finally stopped right in front of the entrance.
Natalie turned off the engine and removed the full-face helmet covering her head. The beautiful face of a young girl immediately appeared beneath the helmet, her long hair slightly messy after the ride.
Natalie got off her motorcycle with a quick movement. The nineteen-year-old girl was wearing a simple black T-shirt paired with blue jeans and white sneakers. Her appearance was casual, even slightly rough around the edges, but the sharpness in her eyes showed that she was not someone who could easily be underestimated.
With the full-face helmet still in her right hand, Natalie walked confidently toward the main entrance of the building. Her steps were quick and full of determination, as if no one had the right to stand in her way.
She did not even look like the daughter of a wealthy family. Her eyes remained fixed on the tall building in front of her. The building where her brother had worked for years. The place where Damian had spent most of his life, and now, other people were standing inside as if everything already belonged to them.
Natalie took a deep breath before walking toward the main entrance. However, after she had only walked a few meters, two security guards immediately blocked her path.
“Miss, you are not allowed to enter.”
Natalie raised an eyebrow. “Why?”
“Orders from management.”
“I’m Natalie Blackwood,” Natalie replied loudly.
The two security guards exchanged glances. “We know.”
“If you know, then move!”
Natalie tried to walk past them, but one of the guards immediately extended his hand to stop her.
“I said I’m going in. Do you want me to fire you?!”
“We’re sorry, Miss Natalie. We’re only following orders.”
“Whose orders?”
There was no answer. Natalie sneered. “Celine?”
The two guards remained silent. That answer was enough.
Natalie stared toward the main entrance, her jaw tightening.
“I just want the situation. As long as my brother’s body hasn’t been found, I will not trust that woman!”
“We can’t. All family access has been revoked. You no longer have any rights here,” the guard replied, still trying to block Natalie’s path.
Natalie let out a short laugh, but there was not the slightest trace of amusement on her face. “You revoked the Blackwood family’s access to Blackwood’s company? That’s hilarious!”
“We’re only following instructions.” The guard lowered his head.
“Then call the person who gave you those instructions.”
One of the guards shook his head.
“There’s no need to cause trouble, Miss.”
“So I’m the one causing trouble?”
Natalie’s voice rose as she pointed at herself and laughed sarcastically.
“My brother just died. Our family haven’t even finished grieving, yet you changed all the company’s access within less than a day. Now his own sister isn’t even allowed to enter her brother’s building. And you’re still saying I’m the one causing trouble?”
Several employees who had just left the building began to watch.
Natalie did not care.
Ever since she heard the news of Damian’s death, she had never believed that her brother was truly dead.
It was not because she did not understand what death meant.
It was precisely because she knew Damian too well.
Her brother was not someone who could easily be brought down.
There were too many things that did not make sense about the news of his death. The accident, the disappearance of several assets, the changes to the company’s access, and the decisions made too quickly after Damian was declared dead.
Everything felt as though someone was trying to make sure no one had time to ask questions.
That was why Natalie had come.
She had not come to cry.
She had come to find the truth.
“I want to speak to Celine.”
“Miss Celine will not meet you.”
“Then I’ll go in myself.”
Natalie tried to move forward.
This time, both security guards grabbed her arms.
“Let go!”
Natalie struggled.
“Don’t touch me!”
However, the two men continued holding her. When Natalie kept trying to free herself, one of them lost his patience and pushed her away.
Natalie’s body staggered.
Her feet lost their footing, and she fell several steps away from the main entrance.
“Arrgh!” she cried out.
Her phone slipped from her hand and fell to the floor.
Her full-face helmet struck the floor with a loud sound.
Several people who witnessed what happened simply stood there in silence.
No one helped.
Natalie looked at them one by one.
There was disbelief in her eyes.
Back when Damian was still around, no one had dared to treat her like this.
Even those who disliked her would still be careful because they knew one thing.
She was Damian Blackwood’s younger sister.
Natalie slowly got back up.
Her jeans were dirty. Her palms stung.
She picked up her phone and helmet, then looked at the building again.
Her eyes began to redden.
“Damian…”
The name escaped her lips so softly that it was almost inaudible.
She bit her lip tightly.
Ever since their parents died, Natalie had never cried in front of anyone.
When her father and mother were buried, Damian had stood beside her and held her hand.
At that time, Damian was still young, but he had already promised to protect her.
And for years, Damian had truly kept that promise.
Natalie could act however she wanted because she knew that as long as her brother was still there, there would always be someone standing behind her.
Now that person was gone.
At that moment, Natalie felt completely alone.
A tear finally fell from the corner of her eye.
She quickly wiped it away with the back of her hand.
She knew she could not cry. Not now.
But a second tear followed.
Then a third.
Natalie lowered her head, trying desperately to hold them back, but the harder she tried, the more difficult it became to control her emotions.
On the upper floor of the building, behind the large glass windows of her office, Celine stood watching everything and laughed.
George Daverick also looked down.
“She’s crying...”
Celine did not answer.
Her gaze remained fixed on Natalie as she narrowed her eyes.
“That girl won’t stop,” she finally said.
The man smiled.
“Then?”
Celine picked up her phone.
“Make sure all of Natalie’s access to the Blackwood system remains closed.”
“What if she tries to hack it?”
“Let her try.”
Celine smiled faintly.
“I’ve been waiting for her. Now, she won’t even have a computer!”
---
Natalie walked away from the building, then sat back on her motorcycle and put on her helmet.
She did not wipe away her tears anymore.
Her hands were still trembling.
But slowly, the sadness in her eyes turned into something else.
Vroom!
The sound of the motorcycle revving its engine roared once again as Natalie left the tall, luxurious building behind.
Natalie rode her motorcycle back toward the Blackwood family home. Throughout the journey, her thoughts continued to race. If Celine could take control of the company that quickly, at least she still had the computer system that had been kept at home. From there, she could try to access some of the old data again and find out what had actually happened to her brother.
However, as soon as she arrived in front of the house, that hope immediately collapsed.

And, most importantly, finding a way to help Angelic. The car continued moving through the city until Marcus finally stopped in front of a small café.“This place?” Damian asked as he looked through the window.Marcus nodded.“Yes, Sir. The burgers here are famous for being the best in this area.”Damian raised an eyebrow.“The best?”“Yes.”Angelic, who was sitting beside Damian, nodded slightly.“I've eaten here before. It's delicious.”Damian glanced at her. The girl lowered her eyes.“It was one of the few places I could afford lately.”Damian said nothing. They got out of the car and entered the small café.The place was simple, with only a few tables and chairs. It was not the kind of place Damian would have

“How can I help Angelic get her revenge?”Ding! The screen disappeared just like that, without even saying goodbye.“Hey!”Damian could not do anything about it because the transparent blue screen had already vanished. Deep down, he was extremely annoyed. He then turned toward Angelic, who was still staring at him with a confused expression.“I…”Damian was at a loss for words. The transparent blue screen flickered before Damian’s eyes.Damian’s eyes immediately lit up.“Then let me buy shares.”Damian rubbed his chin and thought for a moment.“What companies can I buy?”The system displayed several names, along with their current share prices and financial conditions.Damian scanned through them carefully. There were several profitable companies, but none of them caught his attention. Then his eyes stopped on one particular company. It was a shopping mall that had been struggling for years. Its revenue had continued to decline, its debts were piling up, and several major tenants had already left. Based on its current condition, most investors would consider buying its shares a terrible decision.Damian, however, smiled.“I want this one.”“Why?”

I still have something to take care of,” Damian continued before turning around.Marcus nodded. “Yes, Sir.”Damian wanted to return to his room as soon as possible to study the strange system that had suddenly appeared before him.
