Sitting alone in a park, Jake, a young man in the prime of his powers, sneezed and shivered like a sick old man.
It’s been three days since he ran away from the woman who bought his family members and then tried to marry him.
His stomach growled like never before.
It’s crazy how hunger reduced this dashing young man to a pitiful state.
It’s been two days since he came to this park, and he ate the leftover bread of the visitors, which made him feel like a street dog.
If the park didn’t have walls, he might have really had to compete with street dogs.
It was shameful, to say the least.
Nevertheless, even today, he was looking forward to more people visiting the park.
Otherwise, he’d die from hunger.
“If only my card wasn’t stolen… I wouldn’t be suffering like this!”
If a bounty poster wasn’t put on his head, he wouldn’t have to hide in a park like this.
Jake’s stomach continued to roar, so he went to the nearest tap and filled his stomach.
The grumblings stopped for the nonce.
As Jake was returning to his bench under the tree, which was also his bed for the past couple of days, a gust of wind blew.
A few strands of hair fell and landed on his cheek and stayed there due to friction.
“I’m losing hair because I haven’t eaten much the last two days?” he wondered. “No, it’s probably because of all the stress.”
Just then, he heard a cry in the distance.
It was the cry of a little girl.
Jake’s instincts kicked in, and he rushed toward the source of the sound, wondering who could have come so early to the park as the sun was just rising.
At the entrance of the park, a little girl was wrestling with a young lady.
“Give me my bag!” the little girl cried out.
“Just give it to me!” The young lady pushed the little girl away with brute force and was running away.
Jake caught her by her hair and stopped her. “Where do you think you’re going after stealing a little child’s bag?”
Just then, he felt something shock him from behind.
He felt his whole body electrocuted, and he fell to his knees.
Both the little girl and the young lady stood next to one another and were smiling at him while holding a stun gun and the bag.
The young lady opened the bag and took out two lollipops and a wanted poster.
It was Jake’s wanted poster.
Upon closer look at Jake’s perfectly symmetric face with that vintage curtains hairstyle, the young lady’s heart fluttered.
“Aunt Anne,” the little girl electrocuted Jake on his shoulder once more. “They are going to come and take this uncle away, right?”
“Of course. I called the number already, Layla,” Anne, the pretty brunette replied.
When the wind waved Jake’s reddish golden hair, exposing the orange and yellow hues, the young aunt’s heart fluttered even more. (He’s handsome.)
The little girl Layla was electrocuting Jake again, but Anne stopped her and took the stun gun. “Are you trying to kill him? Don’t shock him for so long. If he dies, you’ll spend the rest of your life in jail!”
“EHH?” Layla was shocked.
Jake looked utterly shocked. He was not able to move, but more than that, he was able to travel so far while avoiding all eyes only to now get caught by two girls, one of whom looked like a five-year-old?
This was extremely humiliating and frustrating.
“Let me go, please,” Jake tried to speak through pain and great discomfort.
“We can’t miss out on a million dollar reward,” Anne replied, smirking coldly.
Just then, they heard a loud noise in the sky, making all the locals look up.
Ten helicopters came flying in their direction.
Layla was intimidated by the loud sound, and she grabbed her aunt’s dress.
Even Anne’s heart trembled from that reverberating noise. “Why are there so many helicopters? Is the president passing by?”
“Shit! It’s her!” Jake felt his heart sinking into his stomach at the thought of getting caught by Delma.
He crawled on the grassy ground, trying to get away.
However, at the same time, someone jumped from one of the helicopters and skydived expertly before landing exactly in front of Jake.
While crawling like a slug, Jake stopped by her fat feet and looked up at her.
She, a big woman with a bright smile on her face, grinned at him passionately and said coolly, “Found you, Mr. Goodheart. How can you run away from our wedding? Do you know how heartbroken I was?”
Jake’s eyes welled up with tears of sadness and fright as he saw her big pear-shaped body and triple chin.
“NOOOO!” he cried out from seeing the face of his recent nightmares showing up in reality.
At the same time, the helicopters all made a love symbol in the sky right above their heads, signaling the start of a hair-raising love story.

Delma handed a check to Anne. “If you want more money, feel free to call the same number.”“O-Okay,” Anne was not expecting to be paid much less get paid so quickly.“Can we buy lots of lollipops like you said, Aunt?” Layla innocently asked while jumping with excitement. Her words made Jake understand that it was Anne who was the one who planned the whole thing to capture him.Currently, Jake was tied up and was being taken away to the helicopter which had landed in the park. After him, Delma entered the helicopter and sat next to him.As the chopper flew away, Delma waved goodbye to Layla and Anne. Both of them waved back.Anne briefly stared at the check and wondered, “Did I do the right thing or not?”Delma gave a bowl full of fruits to Jake.He refused to even touch the fruits.“Believe it or not, I wasn’t the one who placed a bounty poster,” Delma said. “It was done by my grandfather.”Jake snorted. “But you still came to kidnap me now, didn’t you?” “If I didn’t, then my grandpa

In the afternoon.Everyone was sitting at the grand dining table of the Hamilton mansion. There were many maids serving the food.Jake, however, didn’t touch the food.Delma glanced at her grandfather.“Ahem, your bank cards are now working,” Elmond said. “They won’t get frozen again.”“Huh, so I should get all happy now and eat?” Jake harrumphed.“Jake, I apologize in my grandpa’s stead,” Delma frankly said while looking at him. After her open apology, Jake’s anger melted and his hunger dominated his other feelings. He started eating all the dishes served on his plate to quench the hunger of four days.“Isn’t Delma so wonderful?” Jake’s mother, Felicia, whispered in his ear.“Mom,” Jake whispered back. “Even the maids look fit. But look at Delma. She has three chins. I can still look past that. But her health must be a mess. I don’t think she’s even capable of getting pregnant. If she’s like this, imagine how she’ll be five years down the line. She will make me pass out with her fart

Elmond’s plan was to prove that Jake was a loser who wouldn’t even be chosen by any system in the repository. However, right now, Elmond just stood baffled and unmoving like a tree. For many years, he had tried to be chosen by the Shedding System. He was able to make every other system in the chamber to choose him at least once, but this Shedding System was the only system which didn’t choose him.So, he even called it the Supreme Shedding system, hoping that his praises would work. But that didn’t help, either. The same was the case for Delma. The Shedding System didn’t choose her, either. There was a time when Delma tried to swallow the bark as it was a small object. However, the bark’s taste turned so bad she ended up vomiting it out.No matter what methods they used, the Shedding System didn’t respond to them. They even tried coaxing with other systems, but that failed, too.But now, some random guy, who didn’t seem special at all, was chosen by the Shedding system? While Elmond ha

Eventually, Jake collapsed down to his knees before the mirror, with tears in his eyes and many of his hairs in his hands, many more at his feet.Just because of losing his hair, he looked a few years older and lost his cool looks by many degrees. It was so disheartening it would be impossible to measure it with any units of measurement.Elmond came over and chortled. “Why are you crying? You can still wear a wig.”Jake gritted his teeth. “You knew I’d lose my hair, and yet you didn’t tell me. Why?”“Don’t cry over spilled milk, my love,” Delma got off the bed with some effort. “You were born with such handsome looks. The world you’ve seen so far must have been pretty simple, but you’ll start viewing the world with a different perspective from now on.“The women who loved your looks before will now treat you like a joke because you lost your hair. However, there are always exceptions to every case. And I’m one of those exceptions. Whether you have hair on your head or not, it doesn’t m

The Shedding system forced Jake to have a whole new perspective over the world and over everything and everyone around him.Firstly, he believed that his parents Brett and Felicia did not care about him as much as they cared about themselves. It was the bitter cold hard truth, which was extremely difficult for him to swallow. His sister Prisha argued for a living. She would always argue with him over everything. She would try to use everybody around her for her own gains. That’s how she tried to prove her superiority, though she wasn’t cunning or evil. His brother Davis lived more in fantasies than in reality. Looking for riches, for Juliet, and for everything he believed was perfect. He was more of a crackhead that was too strange to be called just eccentric. The only thing that was simple about him was his thirst for fun. Jake’s recent struggle provided him fun. This was Jake’s family. They were all hardworking, but they clearly did not make Jake happy, much less proud anymore, not

It didn’t take long for Elmond to realize who the culprit was. There were some cameras that were dismantled, which was something the shedding system was capable of doing. But what sealed the deal was the three dogs which lost all their hair.On top of that, Jake was missing. This led Elmond to come to the conclusion that Jake wasn’t kidnapped, but Jake was the one who actually ran away last night.“If you had let me chip him when we caught him,” Elmond was coldly talking with Delma, “then we would have known where he is right now.”“He’s not a dog, Grandpa.”“But he left you, didn’t he?”Delma visibly frowned. “I’m sorry. I didn’t think he’d run away again. He must really hate me,” she looked depressed and hurt.Elmond’s heart ached. “He has the shedding system now. It won’t be easy to capture him, but don’t worry. I promise you, I will catch that little shit and bring him to you.”He put his hand on her head and gently rubbed it.“You just focus on slimming down, my little princess,”

Anne closed her eyes and did not resist.Let this man kiss her if that was what he wanted, she thought. However, Jake did not give her what she wanted. Instead, he lay down on the bed next to her.“I’ve run a lot to get here. My legs are hurting, so massage them,” Jake told her.“Huh?” She looked a bit bewildered. “You want me to do what?”“You heard me.”Anne frowned. “I never massaged anybody.”“Then you can start from today,” Jake said. She reluctantly touched his legs and began to press the shin bone.“You think I’m made of cotton?” Jake snorted. “Put more strength into your hands.”“Ugh,” she pressed his legs with more strength. “Is this enough?”“Ahh…” Jake made a pleased noise, which startled her. “That’s more like it. You are doing a better job than I thought. Keep going.”For the next five minutes or so, Anne pressed his legs.“You can stop now,” Jake said coldly. She was happy to stop. Then we will build attraction toward each other more naturally.”“Ah,” Jake nodded. “I like the idea.”Anne then picked his shirt off the floor and tossed it back to him.Jake put the shirt back on. “Shall we go out on a date now? There was not a hint of worry or anything in his face.“Just… for that… reason…” Trisha was saying, and he pulled his hand out.Trisha was falling forward.Delma grabbed her. “Let me take you to the hospital.”There was a big hole in Trisha’s chest, so Trisha knew it was too late.“...sorry,” Trisha squeezed out another word before life left her eyes.Delma’s mouth turned down. She moved Trisha’s head a couple of times, but there was no response.“She’s gone,” Melvyn said.Delma glared up at him. “You monster… how could you…”“She’s one of my weaknesses, which is why I had to kill her,” Melvyn said, and the rocks and the rubble around him began to tremble. “And now, her powers have been transferred to me.”The two halves of the island came together, and the entire island began to rise up into the sky. At a remote island a few hundred miles away from Salem city.Delma arrived in a helicopter, driving it herself. She jumped out through the front glass and came dashing through the sky like a hawk descending from heaven. As the helicopter crashed and exploded in the background, Delma landed on the rocky ground where Trisha was sitting on a boulder and polishing her nails.Behind her, both Davis and Tessa were tied up together in metal chains. Both of them were badly wounded, and they weren’t conscious, either.“How could you do that to your own sister?” Delma’s jaw hardened.“What are you saying? She pointed her finger at her own sister for the sake of a toad,” Trisha indifferently said. “If I don’t discipline her well now, she will only get worse in time, don’t you think?”Delma didn’t say anything.Trisha clapped twice. Two of her bodyguards rushed over.“Take those two and go to the Blake mansion,” she told them, and they obliged. As the guards took Davis and Tessa away, Delma didn’

I never said I’d introduce you to my brother,” Tessa snorted. “Firstly, you should get a proper haircut. Then, you should look competitive.Do something that makes you stand out.”“Like what?”“I don’t know. Appear on the Forbes front page or something?”“W-What?” Davis’ jaw dropped.“If you can’t even do that much, you think you’re qualified to become a son-in-law of the Blake family?” Tessa snorted even loudly this time. “All our son-in-laws are from prestigious, billionaire families. I don’t want my husband to look cheap and dull before them. So, figure it out yourself.”“H-How can I appear on Forbes?” Davis looked utterly baffled. “I didn’t even appear on my school’s notice board before.”Tessa spared him a cold gla

Tessa took the kite that Davis had made for her, but she ended up losing in the kite competition with Delma. So, she scolded Davis, saying, “I lost because of your kite!”However, Elmond intervened and said, “You lost because your skill was lacking compared to Delma’s. I made the kite for Delma, so I know that the difference was less in the kites and more in the ones flying those kites.”“Grandpa, you are kidding, right?” Tessa snorted.“Yes, sir. The fault was with me,” Davis supported her.Elmond sighed and shook his head. “Women these days go for the swan walk and end up losing the crow-walk they’re born with. Men also lose their masculinity by sucking up to women. It is so shameful to watch.” Saying that he walked away.“Don’t mind his words,” Delma told them. “He’s just a bit frustrated because he lost in a fight with Jake last evening.”“Fight? What fight?” Davis quickly asked.“They were trying to see who can eat more sweet buns,” Delma replied, “and my grandfather lost.”“Oh…”

Tessa arrived at the Hamilton mansion that morning.Instead of stopping the car in the front yard, she went round the mansion so that she could enter through the back door. However, she saw Jake practicing under the tree, and she could hear his fists moving through the air.“Whoa…” she kept watching him and forgot about time. “It’s like I’m watching my brother fist-fight the fire when he is young.”But soon, she noticed that he was making the falling leaves fly away in different directions in different waveforms.“Wow… how’s he doing that?”She got out of the car and walked straight up to Jake, with her hands in her loose pockets.“Mr. Jake, you sure are putting on a show,” Tessa grinned. “But I don't see Delma watching. What a waste.”Jake was startled by her entrance. He was too focused that he didn’t notice her coming. “You were saying something?”“I said, you shouldn’t practice so hard when Delma isn’t watching,” Tessa smirked. “Do it before her so that she’d be impressed.”“I-I w

Later that night.A phone rang.Davis woke up and saw that it was an unknown number. He answered it.But silence followed.“Hello?” Davis asked. “Who is this?”“I was expecting you to cut the call, but you’re rather patient,” a sweet female voice said from the other side.Davis’ eyes widened as he recognized that voice. “M-Miss Tessa?”It was twelve o’clock at night, so why did she call him at this hour? His heart started pounding regardless if it was to scold him or some other negative reason.“Why did you call me?” Davis cluelessly asked.“I was eating muffins, and I thought it would have been nice if we had muffins at the park,” Tessa replied.“Oh…” Davis didn’t know what to say. Did she really call him to tell just that? “I didn’t know that you liked muffins.”“I used to eat them when I was young,” Tessa replied. “I like the raisins they put in these muffins. They add nice texture to the bread.”“Then… I’ll buy muffins next time we spend time at the park?” Davis hesitantly stated.

You also tried to fight me for the factory. You’re brave, too. I can see why Delma is interested in you.”A few seconds passed.Melvyn released fog through his palm. It turned into a skull-faced fog and flew through the air at incredible speed.Within seconds, it arrived at the Hamilton mansion.Jake, who was in the backyard, looked up at the sky as a massive skull-faced fog came down, seemingly to devour him.Clenching his fist, he threw a punch at it.The fog got dispersed and then it condensed once more behind him, into a much smaller skull-faced fog.“I was doubtful, but now I’m sure tha

If you don’t have faith in yourself, then who will?”For some reason, Jake’s words made him feel better. “Stop teasing me, Bro.”“I ain’t teasing you as much as I’m teasing myself,” Jake chortled.Delma and Elmond were watching them from the balcony.“It doesn’t look like Davis succeeded even after giving the two systems back,” Delma uttered.“I’m not surprised,” Elmond casually said while eating pistachios. “The girls these days are as hypocritical as ever.
