Chapter 02

Atlas now only focuses on the middle-aged man who doesn't seem to get better. Without thinking about the glances of the people around him who stared in astonishment.

''Sir, this is not a spectacle that you can see up close!'' prevented one of the particular flight attendants on duty in this cabin.

Atlas ignored the indirect ban and grabbed the middle-aged man's wrist.

The doctor, kneeling beside Atlas, looked surprised and fixed the position of his glasses which had slipped slightly from the bridge of his nose. With just a little push from the tip of his forefinger, the drinks were back in a comfortable position.

''Are you a doctor?'' asked the doctor who should be the only hope as a helper for this middle-aged man.

''No, but I will try to help this man,'' replied Atlas flatly.

“Tch, young man, this man's life is not a game. I'm a doctor and will help this man recover from all this when the plane lands."

If only the pilot didn't show up that very second, the feud between Atlas and the doctor could have happened.

''How is he?'' asked the pilot who appeared with an uneasy face.

How could he not, he knew very well who the older man lying down was. Having a pile of money is not just an excuse for this grandfather and granddaughter to be able to have a pair of executive-class seats on every flight. Everything is complex.

''I'm Doctor Martin, until now, I'm still officially on duty at the main hospital in Daoda City.”

“Doctor Martin? Did your doctor Martin successfully perform a high-risk operation on a patient with a brain tumour last year?'' One of the other passengers stood up and stared at the doctor with round eyes.

She was a woman maybe in her thirties with a distinctly western style that didn't quite suit her. At least that's according to the views of several flight attendants who had gossiped about him in another cabin.

''Right. That's me. And according to my current diagnosis, this young lady's grandfather seems to have had a complicated heart attack that could have been fatal. We'd better get him to the nearest hospital as soon as the plane lands."

''That of course? But can't you do first aid for this passenger? I don't have time to elaborate on who he is, but one thing is for sure, if something bad were to happen to him, it would have a devastating effect on most of the growing businesses in this country. And that will affect our work."

Martin gulped and looked around. Now all the eyes were on him and the poor older man.

''Does your grandfather have a history of illness, Miss?'' asked Martin  again, pepper, a young girl who could control her crying. Only the occasional minor hiccup interrupted her response.

"Grandfather was hospitalized two years ago due to complications of a stroke," she explained and then burst into tears again.

The stewardess standing nearby immediately knelt and gave the girl a rub on the back, even though she knew it wouldn't stop her crying in no time.

"This man seems to have a blocked blood vessel in the head."

Atlas's words suddenly made everyone there look at him in disbelief. They all cursed Atlas in their hearts for casually interrupting an expert who hadn't yet revealed his diagnosis.

''You think this is a joke?'' snapped Martin who had raised his tone an octave.

Atlas remained calm and shook his head lightly. He then stood up and left the small crowd, disappearing behind the curtain and his goal was to retrieve a piece of equipment that would save the older man's life.

''What's in there?'' asked the woman sitting next to Atlas's bench.

He didn't answer because it wasn't a good thing to reveal the weakest state of someone who might become an enemy in disguise against him one day. The young man did not take long to find out who the older man was. The pilot's dismay and the bit of information from him earlier were enough for Atlas to know about the older man and his grandson, even if it wasn't so specific.

However, the thing he was going to do now wasn't for profit because he knew that the two people were from wealthy families that probably controlled almost a third of the businesses that moved in most of this country. All are Atlas's instincts as a form of sympathy and indirectly as his responsibility to help each other.

"Get out of the way, he needs some more air." Martin spoke again sarcastically.

This is not the first time Atlas has used the medical knowledge he learned from Master Blake to help someone. Even Atlas once saved the life of a villager who, according to the doctor there, would have no chance of surviving his illness.

A few minutes later, Hwang again pushed back the curtain and appeared in the executive cabin. This time he returned with a thick, rolled-up cloth. It didn't seem too heavy, but it was enough to hold all the medical equipment he needed for an emergency like this.

''What are you going to do?!'' Martin seemed to be blocking the older man from being touched by Atlas.

The older man's body was still on the cabin floor, but it had been slightly corrected to be as comfortable as they thought there.

''Wait! there is no need for a fight here.'' The pilot immediately took over the situation to prevent anything terrible from happening.

"Think realistically. Even though this kid's appearance is so pitiful, he must be from the village and pretending to understand about illness. Even though he might not be able to read!" Martin emphasized his sentence sharply.

Atlas silently faced him.

"Doctor, can't you do something? The flight will last for another two and a half hours. Of course, it would be very risky if this young man's statement was true.'' The worried tone changed to a plea to the doctor.

''I should have brought the necessary equipment. After all, if such an act would be fatal to the patient, I would also be deemed to have committed malpractice."

"Doctor, I beg you. Please do your best, whatever it is as long as you can save grandpa's life. I beg you,'' pleaded the girl who had been crying more than talking.

''But, Miss...''

''If it's about your good name, I will guarantee it forever. Everyone who is here is a witness.” The girl begged. She even forgot her selfishness all this time to beg Cia Hou to save the life of the only person most precious to her.

''If you don't take action immediately, then this man's life will not last in the next hour,'' said Atlas and returned.

''Now you also come to urge me?'' said Martin. He clenched his fists very tightly.

“I mean, Miss, I'm going to take emergency action on your grandpa. I will give him acupuncture treatment before it's too late,'' said Atlas in a loud voice that surprised everyone there.
