On a beautiful Monday afternoon, Vanda was coming down the stairs of Borges House, hearing the doorbell ring.

“I’m coming!”

She grabbed the intercom and answered, “Hello, who is it?”

“Charles Andrade!” was the voice on the other side.

Vanda quickly opened the gate for him. Hélio appeared from the garden, a bit dirt-stained from work.

“Hello, everyone. Good afternoon.” Charles scratched the back of his neck.

“Did something happen, Mr. Andrade?” Hélio looked worried about the visitor’s distant attitude.

“You don’t know yet, but Jacqueline and Zachary are taking steps toward their wedding,” Charles explained. “And with that, comes the guest list.”

Her eyes were red, and she yawned occasionally.Sheila decided to tease her, “Elaine, you shouldn’t stay up late at night. When the baby is born, you’ll know what it’s like to lose sleep.”“I’ll figure out how to regulate my son’s sleep as quickly as possible,” Elaine retorted sourly.Alice frowned indignantly. “Are you going to ignore science and biology? A baby doesn’t know the difference between day and night yet, you unnatural mother!”Elaine wasn’t about to be intimidated. “I believe science has evolved. There must be some modern method to teach newborns to sleep at the same time as their parents!”Abner and Karl chuckled, knowing Elaine was expecting something absurd. After swallowing eggs and bacon, Karl voiced his scathing opinion, “If you’re not ready

  • Chapter 1148 We’re Going to Do Something

In Matthew’s suite at Sterling Mansion, Elaine, still awake, was stunned by Nayla’s revelation.“Girl, that’s a bombshell. I had no idea the enemy was so close!”“Yeah, and we almost walked right into a trap.” In her own bedroom, Nayla felt like the dumbest woman on the planet. “Why do we always fall for these jerks’ sweet talk, huh?”“Hey, don’t blame yourself. You didn’t have a crystal ball, and Kirk should have told you from the start,” Elaine advised her.“That’s true. My brother just waited for me to distance myself from him without explaining a thing. Now he wants me to leave town.”Elaine was outraged. “You, leaving town while the drug dealer roams free, selling his ‘goods’ and ruining other people’s lives?”“He’s terrified of reporting Gustavo — or that I might go to the police,” Nayla explained.“Okay, we won’t do anything for now. But understand this, my friend: we ARE going to do something,” Elaine asserted. “Let’s not forget his sister is dating Matt’s best friend.”“I don

Mrs. Andrade had set aside a grilled chicken fillet with little salt for him, but he found a way to bypass security.”Paulina smiled faintly. “Just indigestion, then.”“Not exactly, dear. The guy’s blood pressure went through the roof, nearly ending in a cardiac arrest.” Ernesto sighed. “Remind me to be just as careful when Jacqueline and Mr. Loss get married.”“It’s still too early.” Paulina took another sip.“No, things have changed.” Ernesto sounded like a reporter. “Jacqueline and her fiancé are moving the wedding up. They’re a

Linda, however, gave him a shove on the shoulder. “OUCH!” Walter was not pretending the pain. “That was completely unnecessary, my dear.” “Unnecessary is your rejection.” Linda quickly defended Nathan. “The poor boy isn’t to blame for everything that happened.” “Darling, have you forgotten that we’re talking about the same Nathan who almost ran us over that fateful night?” Linda gesticulated furiously, indignant. “No! Don’t even start recalling that night! First, it was my sister’s fault, and then, your best friend Matthew Sterling was involved too. You know that. And what about the guests? Will everyone be able to attend at the last minute?”Zachary took Jacqueline’s hand. “Your father has a point, dear.”“It might be, but it’s what I want.
