"Do you like the dishes, here?" Charles asked Christian staring at the plates infront of them with a curious face.

Christian nodded his head with a bright smile, "Yes, all these are delicious uncle, thanks for bringing me here."

Charles smiled back at him, the soft clinking of cutlery, the scent of herbs and grilled meat, and the faint notes of classical music still echoed in Christian’s mind as he checked around their table.

"I'll be back in a minute, you can check around meanwhile," Charles had stepped out to take a call, leaving Christian to explore the quiet, luxurious hallway just beyond the dining area.

He didn’t know what pulled him in, curiosity, instinct, or something else entirely, but the dim hallway, filled with ancient paintings and warm sconces, wanted him to approach them, as if a spell cast on him, he walked in the hallway reaching those paintings.

The floor creaked underfoot, rich carpets muffling his steps.

"Umm, I think so, but give me a moment, kid," Charles said as he stood to leave. "I need to speak with someone real quick, if you don't feel okay being here, you can wait outside for me." Charles raised an eyebrow, Christian shook his head, "Let's not do that uncle, it's okay even if they didn't learn anything, they lost a lot, I can understand that from their words, no matter how angry I'm at them, still wanting to ruin them to extent of having nothing isn't acceptable, I can't be that heartless." "Are you sure?" Charles asked hoping Christian would change his decision, but Christian nodded his head confidently, "Yes, I'm sure, everyone deserves a second chance to repent for what they've done, they deserve too, it's okay if they learn, it's okay even if they don't, as long as they don't mess with me, I don't need to bother about them, let's ignore this here itself." Charles gently ruffled Christian's hair, "You're just as kind as your mother." Christian smiled at him, and as they got into car, Charles started the engine, while Christian asked, "That manager and this restaurant, both not normal right?" "What made you feel that?"
