Before long, Ethan’s mind was spinning up a plan on how to get them to follow him into the villa without them feeling like it was a trap, but there was almost no chance that they would have fallen for that.

They were good, and he knew it.

Following him for as long as they did without him noticing them meant they were really really good and experienced.

They would know it's a trap and just drive past the villa.

He began considering alternatives to the plan.

Forty-five minutes. That was all it took for all six of the men to carry and arrange the goods in the warehouse. Gerald was grinning from ear to ear as he stared at the goods. “Oh, this is screaming a lot of money!” “I will suggest we be more careful from now on though, because according to rumors, the chairman is returning to active duty soon, and they might want to investigate our acts when it gets too obvious and often,” Jamie pointed out, standing up to smooth the coat he was putting on. “Ah, you know the chairman is returning to active duty soon? How did such information get to you?” Ethan said in a calm tone, not too loud or too low, but loud enough for the three men to hear him. “Seems like I will have to ask Ava to be careful of who she shares information with, given that most of you are snakes.”They raised their heads to him simultaneously. Robert was the first one to speak. “What did you say?” Choosing not to believe that he heard what the recruit said clearly. Jamie wa

  • The gathering of the corrupt

The smaller van rolled to a halt in front of a low-rise warehouse, tucked behind a couple of abandoned factories. Ethan was the first to step out of the vehicle, his mask already in place, his eyes scanning the whole area, every shadow, watching out for dangers or anything of the like. There were other vehicles parked in front of the warehouse. The cars were nothing like the van that Ethan had ridden in with the rest of the team; they were all luxurious vehicles. One could tell that the occupants of such vehicles were all freakishly rich. Ethan counted them. Three. He hadn’t expected to meet more than two people here today, but it seems like the heavens have decided to work on his side today and favor them. Judging by the size of each of the cars, Ethan could tell that none of them came here all alone, they would have brought at least a driver and a bodyguard each. He was about to nod his head as he took note, but he paused in place as he noticed two cameras at the edge of each

  • Diving into judgement

There was a smaller van on the other side of the road, this van had no logo on it. It seemed like just a regular one for rentals that was used to transport smaller quantities of goods. That was where the goods were moved to. “Who rides the truck to the place where the higherups want?” Ethan asked as the back of the bigger truck was being closed. Gidoen held the shoulder of his bulletproof vest, staring at Ethan with eyes that were filled with anger and malice, but that was the best that he could afford to do at the moment. Nothing else, except he wants to bring forth consequences that he couldn’t handle not only for him but also for the rest of his team, which he was supposed to protect instead. “It is mostly rotated, anyone can drive it over to the place, but the unspoken rule is that the driver must not be one of the last two or three that drove it over,” Gideon explained. “So, will it be weird if three people drive it over to the spot?” Ethan questioned. “No, we do that at ti

Silence settled over the truck like a suffocating weight, but Ethan didn’t rush to break it. Instead, he let it stretch, watching them unravel in the silence. Fear was always louder and overwhelming when no one was speaking. Ethan had them exactly where he wanted. Gideon turned to face Ethan, getting a hold of himself. He hardened his expression, “Let’s act like we all believe that you are the boss. What effect does it have?” Ethan turned to stare at him, a brow raised questioningly. It took Gideon all he had to keep looking Ethan in the eyes and not fold under the intimidating aura that the former was exuding. “Yeah, I mean my q—” Ethan didn’t let him complete his sentence before interrupting him, “Are you so dumb that you don’t know the various negative effects that this will have, assuming I am your boss, which I am. Your boss caught you smuggling part of his goods, and you think nothing is going to happen?” “I think the more reasonable question that I should have asked you

  • The truth they can't deny

“Is that enough proof for both of you, or do you know any other person that Ava would speak to like this?” Ethan asked and none of the men standing in front of him could provide an answer. “Cat suddenly got both of your tongues or you just lost your ability to speak all of a sudden?” Ethan asked again, after a long stretch of silence. Mike and Ross were still trying to come to realization with what they just heard, there is no doubt about it, everything from the sound of her voice to the things she said were convincing enough, because according to Gideon, their leader, it was Miss. Ava that called and informed him about Ethan’s involvement not the HR, which was quite weird or rather unusual. But the group had all brushed it off as Miss. Ava tried to pass information to Gideon himself, given how valuable he had become to the company instead of passing information through intermediaries or middlemen in the organization. “No one comes to mind,” Ross answered Ethan’s earlier question,

“Get off your high horse boy, what the fuck did you mean by ‘your goods’? Do you know what it means if one of these goods isn’t properly packaged when we deliver it?” Ross questioned angrily, trying to find a way to arrange the crate into its proper way. But there was no way they will return it to the way it once was. “That’s a very huge contrast to the good boy slash personality that I was thinking you will have based on my first impression of you,” Ethan said, facing Ross with the same chilling cold look. Ross turned to face him, deep lines of fury had been etched on his forehead, his eyes were blazing with fury, all common sense or reasoning had been thrown out of the window, he couldn’t see what was right in front of him, what exactly it was that had rendered his partner-in-crime silent. “What the hell are you spewing?” Ross questioned, rising to his feet. The fact that Ethan or rather Jox like he knew Ethan to be was not admitting that he had done something wrong and apologiz
