"Elusive huh" She laughed hysterically. She stared right into Aidan's eyes. "You might think you're elusive now but you're nothing but dust beneath my feet just like your miserable daughter who you'll never see again."
Aidan snorted. "Dust?" He growled. "Yet you're threatened by my very presence, particularly since you have no idea how I got out of jail."Madam Doris, pained by those words, raised her hand to slap Aidan but her hand was held in mid-air. She looked and saw an emotionless Aidan with bloodshot eyes holding her hand."The Aidan you knew is different from me. I would break you in an instant without remorse whatsoever." Aidan spoke harshly with red-hot eyes. Fear flashed in Madam Doris's eyes.Suddenly, Madam Doris broke into tears noticing people's eyes were now on them. "Oh my God! Is this how you treat your customers? He hit me, a poor old, helpless woman like me." She wriggled her hand from Aidan's grip."They all ganged up on me" She formed crocodile tears instantly pointing at them.Sadie, surprised by her antics, spoke. "No one hurt you. You're only displaying this ruse because your other plans didn't work out."She turned to Sadie and snickered in disdain. "Colt right? I know you. Your mother is still indebted to me. You forget so quickly how I saved her life and you open your filthy mouth to speak to me?"Sadie retorted. "And I remember we paid back your services in full. It's time for you to leave our premises"Aidan walked closer to her breathing heavily. "You'll regret taking Rachel from me, I promise you. I will be the darkness in your light, the doom you've feared for years. Keep this in your mind." He spoke sternly and snapped at the security to take her out."Oh and before you go, Doris, you're banned from the hotel henceforth." He smirked."You're nothing." She scoffed and stormed out before the security touched her with the policemen trailing behind."She's banned from this place henceforth." Sadie reiterated the orders to sink into the staff's head.Aidan took his phone and called the attorney as soon as he got back to his hotel room."I need everything you can get your hands on concerning the Hartfords, I want them to squirm and hide whenever they hear my name," Aidan growled over the phone."Yes Sir."A couple of minutes later, he was on his way to the company for the handover of Ackerman Inc. Their drive was halted by traffic. It was going to be an hour in traffic and Aidan got tired. He decided to walk as the office building wasn't that far from them. He had walked most of his life anyway. He got down against his driver's will.A few turns away, the weather changed and it showed signs of rainfall. He was cursing himself for not waiting in the car when he noticed a building that had the Ack Subsidiaries boldly written on it. He entered mostly to shield himself from the rain.He discovered that it was a luxury shopping mall. He entered one of the shops; a diamond shop and decided to shop for himself but he stumbled on Ethan Clay and his sinister wife instead."It still baffles me how you work freely, a criminal and a loser like you," Mallory said mocking Aidan as soon as she saw him.She turned to the receptionist. "Watch out for that one, he's a thief and I can attest to his thievery." The receptionist looked him up and down."How much is that?" Aidan asked the receptionist while ignoring Mallory, the price of the most luxurious watch he saw already on the desk."I'm sorry, but I'm sure you can't afford that. That watch is customized especially for Mr. Ethan Clay and even if it wasn't, you couldn't afford it still." She snorted disdainfully."What!" Aidan was taken aback by her words.Ethan laughed. "Bold of you to come into this shop and grab the most expensive watch. I wonder where you got your audacity from"Mallory sneered coldly. "A loser like you thinking you can fool this fine place like you fooled my naive sister" She chuckled coldly.Aidan who had been silent all these while suddenly flashed a smile. Aidan stared right into Mallory's eyes. "Do you think that I'm incapable of paying for the watch?" He asked as a sinister thought flashed in his head."Yes! You were a worthless son-in-law who sucked my gullible sister to survive. So I know you're unfit to pay for the cheapest watch here let alone this watch." Mallory replied exuberantly."Fine. Let's make a bet. The most expensive watch there is and whoever has the money to pay for the watch and every other thing here on the desk stays and the loser is thrown out in the rain." Aidan said, smirking."You must think I'm a fool to believe you have the money to pay for that. "He chuckled out loud. "You must be joking to think I would stoop so low to enter into a stupid bet with a loser like you" Ethan retorted."Are you scared of me beating you the mighty Ethan Clay?" Aidan said somewhat loudly, grabbing the attention of other shoppers.Ethan cracked up cruelly. "I'm going to have the last laugh." He turned to the receptionist and before long the manager of the diamond store was alerted. Mallory folded her hands waiting for Aidan's humiliation. She introduced herself as Tinna. "The watch you requested is $5million." The manager said. Ethan gasped softly because that amount for the watch alone wasn't up to his savings not to talk of the other purchases added. He fidgeted with the hem of his shirt."You look nervous Ethan" Aidan taunted as he noticed Ethan's body movement but he just rolled his eyes at him."Your cards please," Tinna asked. Aidan dropped his card but Ethan hesitates until he is nudged by Mallory to do so.The watch was brought out encased in a special box. The box was opened with the manager's fingerprints and it wowed onlookers with diamonds carefully encrusted within the watch. The manager tried Ethan's card first and beads of sweat formed on his forehead. She swiped and the machine made a declining sound saying "Insufficient balance""Try it again, it must be your machine, I know this is too small for me to pay.You know me" He spoke and chuckled nervously with his heart in his mouth."Sir, our machines are sourced and made from the very best quality…"
"Just freaking try it again and shut your damn mouth!" Mallory cuts in as Tinna was talking. She shook her head, gave a disgusted look, and swiped the card for the second time and the machine gave the same answer.
"Would you like me to keep wasting everybody's time?" She asked sarcastically with a frown. Ethan kept mute.
She took Aidan's card and swiped it, immediately, the card showed his identity as Ackerman--His father had given him one of his cards to use as one was being made available for him. She looked at Aidan with curiosity and swiped the card again to confirm. She glanced at Aidan "Excuse me Sir" and scurried away to her office for a moment taking the watch along.
Mallory noticed and her spirits lifted. "Imagine making a bet when you don't have the money yourself to fulfill your part."
"A scammer and a riffraff is what you are." She turned to the receptionist who was mean to Aidan before. "I told you before he's nothing more than a crook, better double your security before he makes away with your pieces of jewelry" She spat proudly but her husband Ethan had somehow retreated to a corner from the embarrassment he just received.

He turned around and saw Casey standing, holding a shopping bag. Adorning an all-black bodycon gown, her blonde hair flowed freely down her back. She wore a pink leather jacket to complement the floor-length bodycon gown.“What are you doing here? In these luxurious shopping parts of the City?” She asked as she strides closer to him.“She looks sexy,” Eileen said, smacking her lips and looking into her brother’s eyes with a smug grin on her face. “Wipe that smugness off!” He commanded in a hushed whisper. Eileen giggled and stood beside him.“Casey! It's been a while, I should have been the one asking you since this part isn't normally your jurisdiction.” He extended his arms and accepted the hug she brought. She looked different, not like the stern, straightforward doctor he meant almost a year ago. Her dark hair was blonde now and she was dressed in her usual business-looking outfits, but rather a casual one. It was a new look for Aidan.“I remember you.” She pointed to Eileen, wa

“Oh my God!” She jumped back and quickly deterred her eyes by covering them with her hands.“I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I didn't know” She turned quickly and closed the door behind her.Aidan fell on her neck as he was still on top of her, buried deep inside of her. His hot breath continued down her neck as he heaved up and down, trying to find a calm pace for his panging chest. She chuckled. “Busted, no more hiding from her then.” She said and wrapped her legs around him, bringing him in the more. He turned to look at her and his expression was different as his dick became flaccid inside of her. It fell out itself even with her moving her waist herself to continue what Eileen had interrupted.“What is it?” She asked as he removed her wrapped legs and sat at the edge of the bed, using the sheets to cover his semi-hard dick. He rubbed his hands through his hair and sighed a weary sigh.“We shouldn't have done this, Eileen coming in here was a wake-up call” Erica was flabbergasted, and he

Aidan’s POVAidan walks right past them and into the house, pretending he didn't hear, with an aching in his heart. “I uh… wished your mother lived a happy life, but she didn't and me being here, I'm not happy, I have to leave, and I don't know what better time to say it.” Erica sniffled and drew in a short as Aidan slowed his steps down to catch a breeze. He saw Erica turn to get an eyeful of him. They both locked eyes and after what felt like forever, she left the two of them. Aidan shook his head after, he knew why she was leaving but that was low of her to bring it up at this point when Eileen just learned about the life her mother lived and how evil and heartless her birth father was. Erica always finds a way to squeeze herself in. “You know she's right” “What?” He squinted his lids and narrowed his eyes after what Eileen said broke his thoughts. But he didn't quite catch it, hence he asked again. “She has to leave.” “You know what, Eileen, enough!” He wagged his hand in an

Aidan's POVAt The Ackerman EstateA couple of weeks had passed since Jeremy’s final verdict, he was sentenced to life imprisonment, a worse punishment than the one labeled on his father. The City was in awe of the vile things that were published about how the family ran their businesses. People Jeremy had wronged, got their little bit of peace back and some money for compensation. Frederick Clayton was made to pay back the people who he wrongfully took money from the sum of 400 million dollars in total. It was a lot, even for Frederick. The authorities spared no time in bundling up their houses and taking them up as their own, leaving no stone unturned. The little left behind was given to Eileen and also surprisingly there was a trust fund with her mother's name which with the help of Aidan’s attorney, she was able to open and access for her art career.“Daddy…” Rachel exclaimed happily as she leaped out of Eileen’s side onto the bed where they both lay, while Erica sat in the vanit

Mallory’s POV “Ew. Ew! Ew!” She exclaimed as she jittered her heels across a puddle to enter the bus taking her to the prison where her mother was serving her sentence. Her mother had been leaving calls for her to come to see her, but she'd been ignoring them hoping they would go away because she didn't want to be associated with or even tied to her mother again. She finally went reluctantly when the mother told her there was something important that she needed to learn about a stack of money she kept in case of unforeseen circumstances. And being that she was flat broke, she picked up her bag and scurried to get to her mother just so she could claim the money.“Princess? Is this place too filthy for you?” One of the passengers asked as she cracked up at her.She jerked her jaw and scoffed as she found a free seat to sit down.“This is taken…” Another scooted to the free seat from the window side he sat at, frowning at her.“I don't understand…” She huffed a sigh. “How can this be t

Aidan’s POV A whole month had passed since he got Frederick and his cohorts arrested. Madam Doris was sent to jail to spend the next ten years of her pathetic life behind bars without the possibility of parole or even a retrial. Jeremy was still on trial, and this was the last day of his trial where he would be convicted of his numerous crimes. They were the most grotesque crimes ever. He was practically the enforcer of his father, no wonder the man always kept him on his side and without a leash because he carried out the most heinous crimes or got whoever would agree when he could not do it himself for him.Aidan had been going to court since their trial, not because it was necessary but to see the downfall on their faces when they were finally convicted. And boy! Did Frederick feel like he had lost a huge battle he thought he’d already won? He looked dejected like he had lost a fight with a grizzly bear he underestimated. His snares and glare did little to nothing to him as he was
