Chapter 6

“ You’re making it worst.”

“I don’t need you to protect me.” She said and stepped forward.

“So you got a feisty mouth too?” Derrick smirked.

“So sad of you to just notice. What rules were you talking about?”

“She’s a higher member of this gang.”

“I don’t remember joining the gang. Was that in our agreement Draco?”

“No.” Draco sighed and she laughed.

“OH so that means I don’t get to obey any stupid rules I don’t know about. Or did you recruit me without informing me?”

“You work here now. It means you’re a part of this team.”

“Well I wouldn’t try to put it that way. Cause you might live to regret it.” She said and he gasped.

“No one has ever talked back at me.”

“I’m glad I’m the first. I’ll keep on getting on your nerves. Since we’re all don making ourselves clear… I won’t touch your whore again if she doesn’t cross my part and you won’t belittle me to being a member of your tiny club.”

“Tiny!”

“Great we understand each other perfectly. It was nice doing business with you.” She smirked. Derrick stared at her shocked as he tried to process what just happened. He looked at one more time before leaving.

“I’ll be watching you.” He whispered before leaving.

“ What do you think you’re doing?” Draco asked her after he had left.

“Standing up for myself.”

“Look I brought you here to help me do something. I don’t want you dead before it’s done. So stop trying to get on others nerve.”

“Can I have my phone now?”

“What?”

“I promise I’m not gonna call anyone to save me. I just need to take a quick call.” She winked.

“Oh come on. I know it’s in your pocket. It’s like I’m gonna run away or something. I just need something I’m familiar with.” She smiled and he sighed.

“Here but I’m taking it back.” He said and gave her.

“Agreed.” She smiled. Immediately she took the phone, it rang and Freedom Eater showed on the screen.

“Who’s Freed…..”

“Shh!” She said and took the call.

“Hey dad.” She said smiling brightly.

“Where the fuck are you?!” Mr. Luca yelled.

“Somewhere you’ll never find me.”

“What do you think you’re doing? Do you know who you are?”

“Relax dad. I’m fine and safe and besides no one even knows me as your daughter yet.”

“Get your fried brain back to Italy in two days!”

“Not happening. Oh and my fried brain is what’s keeping me going after you threatened to disown me.”

“Sapphire!”

“Take a chill pill dad. I’m not coming back till I’ve gotten the amount of space I need from you! Say hi to Clyde for me will you? He’s a good boy but good boys tell. That’s why I didn’t tell him anything. Did you think I won’t know your deal with him. Goodbye dad!”

“Sapphire don’t you dare hang up on me!”

“Oops.” She said and cut the call before giving it back to Draco.

“Who was that?”

“My father.” She smiled.

“Why did he ask you to come back to Italy when you’re still in Italy?”

“I guess a good friend of mine told him I took off on vacation. I’m not to ready to talk to him, so if he calls in two days, do me a favour and talk to him.” She winked. “You kidnapped me after all.”

“You know there’s a thing called tracking right?”

“Not with my baby.” She smiled and Draco stared at her confused. “No one can track my phone without my consent.” She smiled widely.

“How smart are you?”

“The smartest.” Sapphire winked playfully.

“Just get to work. The earlier you get me into Pietro’s, the earlier you leave this place.”

“I’m not planning on leaving sooner. I might hate you but I'm not leaving this place yet.” She muttered silently but he caught her words.

“What do you mean?”

“Did I say anything? You didn’t hear anything.” She said nonchalantly.

“Just work on getting me in.”

SEATTLE, U.S.A

An entourage of men in red suit with their ladies in white walked in majestically into the large hall. A lady in a white suit that hugged her body came down from a black SUV, she was putting on deep red lipstick and had a large hat on and she had this sinister smile plastered on her face as she walked into the large hall where the party which seemed like a wedding reception was taking place.

“Mrs. Luca.” A voice called and she smiled widely.

“Mrs. Luca.” The voice called again and she turned.

“Mr. Frederick.” She faked a smile. The man covered the little space between them and hugged her tightly.

“It is an honor to see you.” Mr. Frederick said in an American accent and she chuckled as she broke the hug.

“Oh stop it Frederick. You invited me and I honored your invitation.” She smiled widely as looked around.

“The newly weds will soon arrive.” Mr. Frederick said and she nodded.

“Love the decoration. I assume your wife is the one behind it or is it one of your numerous girlfriends?” She asked sarcastically in a thick Italian accent.

“You flatter me. My daughter was the one who choose the design.”

“Where is your wife?” She asked with an American accent this time.

“She couldn’t make it.” Mr. Frederick said and she scoffed.

“What a mother!”

“Hello husband.” A woman with blonde hair putting on a semi transparent peach gown said as she walked towards them. She kissed Frederick on the lips lightly.

“No wonder she couldn’t make it. One wouldn’t even recognize you as the mother of the bride. There’s no difference between the whores he goes out with and you.” Mrs. Luca said as she walked away.

“Anne no need to bite on your words. You’re welcome by the way. It’s a pity your husband couldn’t come to see you. I kind of wonder what he does every year. Taking care of your insane daughter?” The woman said sarcastically and laughed at the end.

“Unlike your husband’s who’s prone to catch a disease at any moment, mine is responsible. Sandra.” Anne winked mischievously and walked away.

“Why did you invite her?” Sandra asked.

“We need her husband’s company. This is the only chance I got could, please don’t ruin it any further.” Frederick said and she scoffed.

“Then you should have invited Fernando instead.”

“You know he never shows his face to the public unless necessary. The wife is here please don’t ruin things for me.”

“Not like any more thing is going to be ruined.” Sandra scoffed.

“I’m sorry, Frederick. I’ve got something urgent to do at the office.” Anne interrupted them. They didn’t even know she had turned back. How much did she hear?

“But you just arrived.” Sandra said.

“I know. It’s kind of urgent and I can’t avoid it so we’ll catch up next time.” She said and handed Frederick a sealed envelope.

“Make sure your daughter receives it sealed. It’s a wedding gift. Tell her I’m so sorry for bailing her.”

“ Thank you.” Frederick smiled.

“Maybe dinner sometime to make up for this.” She said and he nodded. “Very well then. Goodbye.” She said and pecked his right cheek before walking away.

“Imbecile, you intentionally flirted with her in my presence.” Sandra frowned.

“I didn’t flirt..”

“The why did you smile at her? You even let her stinking lips touch your face.”

“It’s just a friendly gesture. Besides you don’t even act this way when other girls do it.”

“That’s because she’s not other girls! She’s your high school sweetheart!”

“Was my high school sweetheart.” He corrected.

“Oh come on, I know you still love her.” She scoffed.

“Sandra stop trying to pick up a fight. Today’s your daughter’s big day, please don’t try to ruin it any further.” He said as his eyes moved around her body. She was almost naked.

“Shut up!”

….

Anne met her assistant, Louisa, a slender white girl with red hair and pouty lips at the door of the mansion pacing about. She was the one who called her from the party.

“Louisa I hope it’s something important…..

“Boss wants you to return to Italy today.” Louisa interrupted.

“What? When did he tell you this?”

“A while ago.”

“Why didn’t he call me? Did he tell you why?” She asked and Louisa nodded.

“Don’t tell me..”

“Sapphire is not in Italy.”

“Oh God! That girl.” Anne cursed. “Fine, prepare my things and let’s go find my daughter.” She smiled widely.

Louisa went into the house while she waited outside. She stared into space for while as she thought about what she was going to face in Italy. “Oh Sapphire can’t you just obey your father for once?” She sighed.

“Well it’s a good thing she ran away this time. Who knows maybe he would have been forcing another ring on her fingers?” She muttered and chuckled at the end.
