Meanwhile, at the Quentin Manor…

“My lady, this is entirely my fault. If I hadn’t been caught in that spell, maybe I could’ve brought back Lord and Lady Quentin. I’m utterly ashamed.”

Kneeling on the ground, Lyman bowed his head low, regret carved deeply into his features.

“No, my lady. The fault lies with me. If only I had arrived sooner… none of this would’ve happened. It’s my delay that caused all of this.”

Beside him, Bachary also knelt, head bowed so low it nearly touched the floor. Just like Lyman, his face was a mirror of guilt and remorse.

In truth, Bachary’s regret ran deeper than just the disappearance of Thomas and Annette. It stemmed from something even more personal—he had lied to Darla. For the first time in his life. The guilt gnawed at him, like claws tearing into his chest.

Yet, Darla stood in silence before them, saying nothing. Her expression was taut, her brows furrowed tightly together. A faint sheen of sweat glistened on her forehead.

“My lady…”

“What?”Marc froze, feeling cheated.“That’s not fair. I already showed you that map. So why can’t I come along on the mission?”He reached out, trying to snatch the map back. But Skarleta’s hand was faster. The goblin queen pulled the map out of his reach, rolled it up neatly, and tucked it into the pocket of her triple-layered silk gown. She clearly had no intention of letting Marc touch it again.“Damn it, you even took the map from me,” Marc muttered.“Why do you keep complaining?” Skarleta shot back. “Aren’t you the one who said you’d do anything for Lanshire? Then why does it bother you so much if I’m the one holding onto it?”“That’s not what I meant. Just… take me with you. Please.”Marc couldn’t stand the idea of these two women marching into enemy territory without him. He had to be there.“That’s impossible.” Skarleta shook her head slowly, her expression turning uncharacteristically somber.“Even if I wanted to, I can’t.”“Why not?” Marc frowned.“Because Gravemoor isn’t a

Not long after, the young man was already standing beside them.“If this concerns Lanshire’s safety, you don’t have to hesitate to tell me.”Marc might not have heard the two women’s plan directly, but a brief physical contact with Skarleta had already given him a glimpse. The goblin queen was actually trying to prevent a large-scale attack that was about to fall upon the kingdom.“Tell me—does this have something to do with the ashborn assault that’s set to happen in a month?”Marc’s question was calm, as if he already knew about the looming threat.“To be honest… yes. But how do you know?”Skarleta looked puzzled.“Wait—did Miralda tell you?”“Skarleta!”Miralda’s voice snapped, clearly displeased with the baseless accusation.“No,” Marc shook his head slowly. “I learned it from Lord Griffin. He trusted me to face it with him.”Moments earlier, when Skarleta had pulled Miralda away to speak privately, Marc had begun piecing together Elliot’s idea.“Marc, this could be a great opport

They were now about fifty meters away from Marc. Since it was night and they were deep in the forest, everything was cloaked in darkness, save for the faint glow of the full moon above. But to Skarleta, that was hardly a problem. With a snap of her fingers, the surroundings instantly shifted into broad daylight. This was the mental realm—and here, Skarleta could bend reality however she pleased.“Why did you bring me here? Why not let me interrogate him? If he finds out about our plan, I’m certain he’ll spill it. Let me take care of him before that happens.”“Calm down.” Miralda lifted both hands in a soothing gesture.“Marc isn’t who you think he is. Once he understands, he won’t oppose our plan. He’ll know this is the best thing anyone in this kingdom can do for our homeland.”Skarleta folded her arms tightly, her face restless and tense.“Besides,” Miralda added, “sooner or later, he’ll figure it out. Marc can read both of our minds. There’s nothing we can hide from him.”“That’s i

  • Chapter 468 - A Grand Plan

“Skarleta?”Miralda turned her head. From behind her, a young woman approached, draped in layers of royal silk—an unmistakable mark of the royal household.Like Marc and Miralda, Skarleta—who had already mastered the pinnacle of mental power—could also step into the Mental Realm.“You…”Miralda’s face was calm, but Marc stiffened, holding back his anger as his gaze locked on the goblin queen. Skarleta—whose beauty rivaled Miralda’s—had caused him no small amount of trouble. He couldn’t just let it slide. She needed to be taught a lesson. But as if ignoring the sharp glare boring into her, Skarleta simply brushed past him, unfazed.“Why should you lock Phoenix away again?”She stretched her hand down to help Miralda rise from the ground.“We still need him.”Before the two radiant women could speak further, Marc stepped forward, confronting Skarleta again.“You stole the Golden Nirvana from me and tricked Lady Darla into marrying that bastard Godfrey! Even if you came begging for forgi

A faint green aura began to radiate from his palms, growing brighter and stronger with each passing second. At the same time, Miralda felt a refreshing, soothing energy seep into her body. The flow mended the internal injuries that had ravaged her organs, rapidly restoring them. Gradually, her physical strength returned as well. But that wasn’t what thrilled her most. She felt a powerful surge of energy stir once again in her dantian. As Marc continued channeling the green energy, Miralda’s heart swelled with gratitude. “Thank God… I haven’t lost my cultivation energy after all!”Marc’s healing zhenqi had already repaired her internal wounds completely. From there, the energy shifted outward, tending to the severe burns and damage on her skin. What happened next was nothing short of miraculous. The charred, blackened flesh that had nearly rendered her unrecognizable gradually gave

A faint voice slipped into her ears.“Marc?”It was a voice she recognized—one she despised with every fiber of her being.“It’s over now,” the voice continued. “You should be able to open your eyes.”Miralda didn’t obey. Instead, she furrowed her brows, her tone sharp and laced with the last dregs of strength left in her body.“Open my eyes? For what? So you can mock me even more?”She thought Marc wouldn’t let her die so easily. No, he would drag out her suffering until her very last breath.“Duchess Vexley, please. Just do it.”Miralda still refused. But then, a flicker of unease crossed her mind—her shoulder no longer throbbed with pain. It was as if the jaguar’s fangs had vanished from her flesh.“What?” she thought. “Why can’t I feel the pain anymore?”Hesitantly, she opened her eyes. Her brows knitted as confusion set in. There was no jaguar. Only Marc standing beside her, his presence instantly souring her expression.“You’ll never get tired of tormenting me, will you?” she sp
