Nebulus spoke in a cold, detached tone, though in Miralda’s ears it sounded more like mockery.

Anyone else would have brushed off those words, pretending the misty old man had never uttered them. No sane person would actually take that challenge seriously.

But Miralda wasn’t like anyone else.

Her eyes narrowed.

“Fine. I accept your challenge. If I defeat you, you’ll let those three men stay here. Deal?”
