Staring at the chubby man's leg, where the chain was attached, a thought crossed Kent's mind.

"I can't pull this chain out of his leg. Damn, you would've been a foodie when you were alive."

Kent paced back and forth, one hand resting against his jaw as he searched for another way to free himself. It was only a matter of time before the two red-shirted men returned.

Suddenly, he stopped and turned toward the chubby man. A cold smile spread across his face.

"If I break his leg, I can get the chain off him."

Without hesitation, Kent raised his leg, preparing to stomp down on the corpse's leg. He gritted his teeth, concentrating all his strength on his raised foot.

However, just as his foot was a few inches away from the man's leg, he stopped. Sympathy crept into his expression as he struggled to bring himself to do something that felt downright evil.

"Shit, I can't do this to my fellow human."

He lowered his foot and stepped back, clenching his fist.

Staring at the ceiling, his expression darkened.

"When did I start caring about others? Everyone only looks out for themselves. If he were in my position, he would've done worse."

His expression hardened as he returned to the corpse and stared down at it.

"He'll be eaten by fish after they dump him into the ocean anyway. Breaking one leg isn't a sin, then."

Despite his malnourished body, Kent summoned a surprising amount of strength and stomped down on the chubby man's leg.

Again and again, he brought his foot down until the leg was completely shattered, exposing flesh and splintered bone. Blood splashed across his face.

"So disgusting."

Kent wiped the blood away without giving it much thought. He bent down, grabbed the chain, planted his feet firmly against the ground, and pulled with all his strength, using his back for support.

"Argh!"

The chain came loose, sending Kent tumbling onto his back. Pain shot through his body, but he forced himself up, his face brightening at the thought of finally being free.

That excitement didn't last long as his face  turned pale noticing the chain was still attached to another corpse. He hadn't seen that part earlier because the chubby man and the tightly packed bodies had concealed it.

Kent didn't know whether to blame himself or the dead man. He let out an angry grunt and began pacing within the limited space the chain allowed or where he probably reach himself

Clenching his fist, he felt something slippery on his hand. Unsure what had caused it, he shifted his gaze to his hands. Only then did he realize that the slippery substance was probably the chubby man's blood, which he had wiped away with his hand.

Shifting his attention to the chooby man once again an idea came into his mind

Kent approached the body, glancing between its shattered leg and the chain around his ankle. After shaking his head, he bent down and dipped his hand into the wound.

Turning his face away, he rubbed his hand against the flesh, grimacing in disgust.

He stared blankly at his blood-covered hand before smearing the blood around his ankle.

"This won't be enough."

He stood up and stomped on the chubby man's other leg until blood began flowing from it. Without hesitation, he dipped his hand into the wound and rubbed more blood onto his ankle.

Once he finished, he tugged at the chain.

To his surprise, it moved slightly.

A smug smile appeared on his face. He continued dipping his hand into the flowing blood and pulling at the chain, little by little.

With his thin leg and the blood making the chain slippery, it was only a matter of time before it slid down toward his foot.

Just as the chain was about to come off, the sound of an approaching wagon reached his ears.Kent's eyes widened.

"Damnit, they're here already!"

He immediately lay down and pretended to be dead as the two red-shirted men jumped out of the wagon and began loading another batch of corpses.

It was undoubtedly Kent's turn. Judging by the number of bodies remaining, this would likely be the final batch. As the men's footsteps drew closer, Kent grew increasingly tense. Cold sweat trickled down his face as he tried to remain still.

"What happened to his leg?"

One of the men stared at the chubby man's shattered legs in confusion. He glanced around, checking whether anyone had entered the building while they were away.

"What the fuck are you staring at?" the vicious red-shirted man barked.

"His leg is severely broken," the other man replied, pointing at the corpse.

The vicious man strode toward him with a dark expression. After looking at the broken leg, he hissed in annoyance, then turned toward Kent, grabbed him by the shirt, and hurled him into the wagon like a piece of paper.

Kent landed face-down, gritting his teeth as he fought the urge to make a sound.

"Wicked bastard! Why would you throw me like that? Even my dead body doesn't deserve to be treated so cruelly."

He turned his head slightly and saw the vicious man approaching the wagon. To his shock, the man was staring directly at him.

"What?"

The man's gaze shifted to Kent's leg, settling on the chain that was almost slipping off his foot. A mocking expression crossed his face.

"It must be hunger. Thank goodness the Gravemaw ended your suffering. Eat well when you get to hell."

Kent clenched his fist, the man's words echoing in his mind. His anger grew with every passing second, but before he could dwell on it, the chubby man's corpse came crashing down on top of him.

Kent gritted his teeth, struggling beneath the weight. Then more bodies began raining down, pressing him deeper into the pile.

"Get your fucking body off me!"

He tried pushing them away, but the weight was so immense that he couldn't move even one.

The two men climbed into the wagon and drove off, heading toward the ocean to dispose of the bodies.

Minutes felt like hours.Kent was on the verge of suffocating, his face growing pale. So far, he had managed only to free his nose from beneath the bodies, allowing him to take shallow breaths.

The weight pressing against his chest was unbearable, and the rotten stench of the corpses was driving him mad. The chubby man's body made it even worse.

"Why do I feel like I'm being lifted?"

Before Kent could figure out what was happening, one corpse fell from the wagon, followed by another.

Then another.

"What is going on—"

He couldn't finish before another body tumbled out, dragging him into the ocean with it.

Kent plunged into the water, screaming at the top of his lungs.

"Did you hear that?"

One of the red-shirted men glanced at his companion, who had asked the question, but said nothing. Instead, he shot him a disdainful look and walked away.

His companion stared at the water for a moment before returning to the wagon and driving off.

Meanwhile, Kent struggled to pull the remaining chain off his leg. The blood he had smeared around his ankle was quickly washed away by the water.

To make matters worse, the bodies dragged him deeper into the ocean with every passing second. Just as he was about to drown, a desperate idea crossed his mind.

"If I break my leg, I should be able to get this off."

He had almost no time left. Grabbing his own leg, Kent did the unthinkable.

Pain exploded through his body, and a groan threatened to escape his lips. But survival came first. He could scream later. If he screamed now, water would rush into his mouth, and he would drown before he knew it.

With the chain finally slipping free, Kent pulled his leg out and escaped its grasp.

However, he was completely exhausted. His strength had run out, and he could no longer fight the water dragging him down.

His consciousness began to  faded and within seconds, Kent sank rapidly into the dark depths of the ocean.
