Chapter 223 An unforeseen defeat

Chris picked up his pace, hurrying to get out of the bunker. Behind him are the others, following his lead, leaving the wounded with Finny’s second in command.

All four men threw each other questioning glances, seeing how he moved with such haste. Not bothering to speak to them.

“What’s the plan now, sir?”

Marco broke the silence, unable to hold on to his tongue.

His curiosity was eating through him, irritated that he can’t understand what’s going through the minds of his companions.

“Nothing’s change. I’m taking this up to the surface. We need to get back there as soon as possible.”

Chris mutters behind gritted teeth.

Inside his mask, a few tears had escaped his eyes, still being gnawed by the guilt of his judgment a while ago.

He takes in another deep breath, forcing his chest to loosen up, because he can feel it tightening each time he remembers his mistake.
