Sinas muttered to the wind with a smirk, "Forget Arwin, if I have a crew groomed exactly like her, I might as well stumble into someplace where cure is possible for my son."
He really felt envious of Arwin whenever her crewmates did to be able to find her. It really makes him wonder what capability she has as well to be able to find such loyal people.
With that solely in mind, Sinas continued on with his journey. There were a lot of things to do and unknown stuff to deal with as well. Nevertheless, he needed to keep going.
Just as he was next in line, a crewmember with its distinct gold front tooth and sunken eyes stopped him and spit to the ground.
The crewmember looked at Silas with narrowed eyes as he speaks coldly, “Oy mate, who do you think you’re fooling? Why are you boarding a pirate’s ship? You’re not one of us.”
His heavy accent made him barely understandable, so Sinas paused to try and grasp what he was sayin
He knew how to feed them just enough hope to hook them up. After all, that was what he good at. He even managed to fool Dylan for so many years.Of course, he was not completely heartless. There was sometimes that he felt that lying to Dylan that he was his real son was terrible. But eventually, Sinas managed to convince himself and forget about guilt by believing that Dylan was not even a real person. He was nothing more than a mere copy of his real son.Despite his situation, Sinas suddenly got curious. He kind of wondered what happened to the others that were still stuck in the forest. Did they return to their original time? Where they even still alive?Or perhaps they were not far from him at that moment and also trying to survive?Sinas shook his head. He needed to start canvassing and planning on how to structure and sell his lies about Arwin being alive. But in fact… Unbeknownst to him, Arwin really was alive. Sinas just did no
Sinas looked at him cautiously. He silent for a while before he asked carefully again in a softer voice, “How did you see Arwin’s face? And where was it?”The prisoner hummed as if he was thinking of something. He then grinned, before speaking, “Not her face. Not clearly.” Then he continued to explain, “I saw a drawing of their captain one day when I was cleaning the decks. I realized one big secret the Night Rose hid from everyone.”Sinas frowned and got a little annoyed. The prisoner was delaying. “What is it?”The prisoner leaned in closer as his voice got softer. He replied, “Arwin is a girl.”There was a collective gasp of disbelief among the prisoners. They just could not put it around their head that the captain of the most notorious blood-thirsty pirate was a girl. How could that be?If that was true, then what kind of girl could achieve such a feat?<
Nexus pointed her fingers from what seemed to be a tower surrounded magnificently by the blue light, and all the way to the infrastructures, they lit up.Initially, Arwin was confused about what Nexus was doing, but that immediately turned into a deep fascination due to the things that she saw so far.She smiled to herself as she wondered if she could do such a thing as well in the future. However, her smile soon vanished, and it turned into a frown as she remembered her dear friend Mosse. He liked interesting pieces of stuff like these. He turned into an adult child most of the time. Mosse would have enjoyed the outside world so much.‘If only he was here…’ Arwin thought to herself bitterly. She rarely cries, but this would be one of those times as she felt her eyes stings.Nexus snapped her fingers to grab Arwin's attention. She looked at Arwin with concern before asking worriedly, “What’s the matt
"He told us all that is to know, and we built machines to keep them at bay, but… the longer they stay here, the longer they adapt. We fear that soon, Night Rose will learn all that we know, and we won't be able to stand a chance,” Nexus added, not hiding the worried expression on her face. She then continued, “We hold one of the rarest materials in the world. Tungsten- it’s very reliable for industrial creations.”Arwin was silent for a moment. She was thinking seriously before asking suddenly, “Years ago…? Is this person still alive?”Nexus smiled as she grabbed Arwin's arms. Arwin looked at her, baffled, but the other girl just remained silent. She waited patiently as Nexus brought her to a humble home just outside the residence of the village.Nexus said as they continued walking, “Despite the advancements the world has to offer, he prefers to live in his own time.”An oddly familiar
She was satisfied seeing Taflen happy and with a family. Thinking about it carefully, Arwin didn't want to drag Taflen into that mess again. She couldn’t. Especially when the incident happened.Taflen was living his second life in peace. She was not that selfish to take that away from him.The three of them shared a meal together. The table is decorated with cotton linen with a pirate pattern making Arwin chuckle. She muttered under her breath, “Still tacky as always.”“Dig in!” Nexus happily stated. They all ate together with the tuna casserole Taflen made earlier that day. Everything about seeing an old friend made Arwin nostalgic. She saw Taflen eating and laughing with his daughter, and Arwin realized the one thing she will never have. It’s this. Unlike Taflen, she can never settle down. It's her burden- a character flaw, if you will. Arwin cannot be tied down because no matter
John and Gloin couldn’t risk their identities since they’re clearly at a disadvantage.Given Gloin’s juggernaut, it still would not outstand the technologies they have seen there. Those guns that can shoot lightning or those tanks could kill them immediately. They were simply outnumbered and out-powered. Right now, their priority was to wait and stay there until Mark regains consciousness.Gloin reminded John, who was already on his way out, “Don’t forget. We’re mute, okay?”John makes an okay sign with his hand as he proceeds to step outside.John walks toward some abandoned factory near where they were staying. That town has a lot of those facilities like abandoned or unfinished buildings. Gloin says to John the moment they step foot there, he is home.He indeed is.The town has lots of builders like Gloin. They keep building every day just to satisfy their curiosity.John snickers at
They shout from across the room, "There's no running away now, newbie!"Sinas gritted his teeth as he suppressed his annoyance.Soon, they arrive at the main deck of the ship- the one he thrashed from yesterday. The skies were cloudy, and it almost seems like it's going to rain any time.Luther stands before him and then asked, "Did you get a goodnight's sleep?"“Barely.” Sinas replied, “Are you the one I have to kill? Then if I do, will I be the new standing captain?”Luther smirks before he responded, "Funny, but no. You will be fighting our new member. He just came in a couple days earlier than you did. Isn't that very?"“Why are you even looking for Arwin? How are you sure she’s here?” Sinas could not help but ask.Luther hummed in agreement without looking at him, “Hm.”“Why?” Sinas was curious. He wanted to prepare in case something else happen.Luth
“You’re joining Night Rose to find some cure, right?” Dylan asked with a knowing smile while looking at Sinas with disdain. He then added, “Then I can just tell everyone here that the truth.”Sinas did not say anything. Instead, he strikes Dylan to the head in hopes of shutting him up when suddenly, Dylan grabs Sinas' hand mid-air.He then head-butts Sinas that caused him to fell to the ground. Both their head was bleeding now, and Sinas was too far away from Dylan.Dylan stumbled but kept his feet planted on the ground. He was dizzy, and his gaze was spinning like crazy, but he still managed to smirk. It was like he knew that he still has the upper hand.Seeing him like this, Sinas felt suspicious, like something bad was going to happen. However, in Dylan's mind, if he fell here and now, he would take Sinas with him at least.Dylan knows that if he tells everyone the truth, the captain they were looking
