Samuel felt the excruciating pain of his body. Earlier, he had even been able to hear the crushing of his bones. His breathing became more labored. He couldn't even open his eyes anymore. He thought he was going to die. But at this moment, he wasn't really dead or unconscious.

In his body, which was still crushed by the large object, he felt the footsteps of two people approaching him. Samuel tried to open his eyes. But he could only see vaguely as two men stood beside his body.

They did nothing to help him. The rest of the time, he only heard whispered voices from the two men. "He's fit for it."

He heard that voice clearly. Even so, Samuel did not understand anything they said. He was utterly helpless to even ask for a favor.

Before he could understand anything, his eyes went dark, and he was utterly unconscious.

"I'm going to die."

Moments later, Samuel woke up suddenly.

Samuel had no idea how long he had been unconscious.

"Ahhh."

But at this moment, he felt excruciating pain in every inch of his body. He endured the agony for a while. His body became wet with sweat.

But suddenly, he realized something. At this moment, he could move his hands. He could even move his entire body.

Samuel tried to take in his entire body as he opened his eyes. But at the moment, he only realized that everything still looked fine, as if nothing significant had happened.

"What happened to me?" Samuel tried to get up. The pain from earlier had disappeared.

This made him feel very strange. He had almost died, but he only realized that right now, he was in an empty building.

"Am I dreaming?" Samuel scratched his head in confusion.

Everything seemed so real, but nothing terrible had happened to him. He quickly decided that he was really just dreaming.

When he looked at the clock on his hand, he was shocked to see that it was already 7 a.m.

This made him very anxious. He knew that everyone would be looking for him. "I have to go home soon."

Samuel forgot everything. He walked quickly away from the neglected building, eventually reaching home.

Samuel quickly entered his house, but suddenly, his mother-in-law threw a plate at him.

"Good. Do you no longer want to cook?" his mother-in-law asked in a sarcastic voice.

"You are a man who doesn't know himself. You've been living here and now want to run away from your job. You son of a bitch!" The harsh voice came back from Ella's mouth. Anger overcame her. Even her face had turned red this morning.

Darell came over and joined in the insults. He looked down on Samuel. "Do you want to act like a boss, coming and going as you please? You didn't even give anything to this family; now you're acting like one. Damn it!"

They united to attack Samuel with their insults.

This was a common thing for Samuel. But he didn't even intend to shy away from his duty. Samuel looked at Ella. "Mom, something happened to me. And that's why I just came back."

Ella folded her arms with a sardonic smile. "Did you think I would believe you?" Her face showed indifference. "We were hoping you were going to die. That would be much better."

Samuel couldn't explain anything that happened. The fleeting image of the big iron made his body shiver. He didn't even know what had happened to him. Everything seemed strange.

At the same time, Fiona arrived. She stood beside Samuel and looked at her mother flatly. "Stop this, Mom."

Ella looked annoyed. Her eyes flashed when she saw her daughter about to return to Samuel's defense, and it made her sick. "You should be talking to your useless husband but always defending him. And look, he's getting more and more insolent."

Ella folded her hands together. She felt her chest burning with emotion. "You're always spoiling him. He really is an unfortunate man."

Fiona let out her breath. She tried to calm things down. "Mom, never mind. We've never had a problem with money anyway."

Ella rounded her eyes. She lowered her hands and gave Fiona a broad look. "Of course, there are problems. You can't even enjoy luxury goods. You should have gotten a rich husband. Not a loser like him." Ella pointed at Samuel with a disgusted face.

Fiona rubbed her forehead, which made her more dizzy. Then, she looked at the clock in her hand. She was going to be late for work. "I have to get to work and stop all this commotion, or I won't be able to do any work." Her eyes were full of pleading.

Fiona quickly reached into her bag, took out a few bills, and handed them to her mother. "You'd better go out for breakfast. Accept this."

Ella accepted it quickly. She glanced at the money, and her lips turned up in a smile. But the next second, she looked at Samuel. "This time, you can be free. But look, I will teach you a lesson for this. He can't be allowed to continue."

After giving that warning, Ella glanced at Darell. "Let's go. Continuing to stare at that damn face will only put me in a bad mood."

Darell agreed quickly. "Okay, Mom."

After that, they actually left there.

After her mother and younger brother left, Fiona let out her breath. She rubbed her forehead, which was still dizzy. Afterward, she looked at Samuel. "It's better that you're not at home."

Fiona's words really surprised Samuel. He didn't understand why she would say that; he thought she had kicked him out of the house.

"What do you mean?"

Fiona looked at him intently. "Samuel, you should go to work." She emphasized her words.

Fiona reached into her bag again and took out a bill. This time, it was more than what she had given her mother.

Fiona handed the money to Samuel. "Take this. You can use this money for you."

Samuel shook his head. He pushed Fiona's hand away gently. "No."

Samuel smiled bitterly. He looked flatly at Fiona's hand, still holding the bills. "I'm the one who will give you the money, Fiona."

Samuel's words made her take a deep breath. He always said that. While repeatedly, Fiona assured Samuel that she didn't want anything from him. Even the stubbornness that Samuel showed made her more annoyed.

Fiona has explained it repeatedly, but she thinks Samuel can't understand.

This time, Fiona didn't want to argue. She put the bills back into her white bag. "Alright, have it your way."

Fiona didn't want to waste too much time, so she quickly left Samuel to head to his office.

A few hours later, Samuel was ready to pick Fiona up. This time, he came with more enthusiasm. He wanted to give something to his wife, and he hoped it would be memorable for Fiona.

When Samuel arrived at the front of the building and prepared to enter, he was shocked to see Fiona confronted by several large men.

Meanwhile, Fiona was trying to get away from the two men. "Let me go!" She spoke in a firm voice.

The two men laughed loudly. He did not heed Fiona's words. Stayed there and tried to touch her.

Fiona dodged. She brushed off the hand of one of the men. "Don't try to touch me." This time, she used her index finger to point at their faces.

"You will be taken to the police if you do anything bad to me. Leave, or I will really report you." Fiona gave a warning, but the two men only met her words with laughter.

"Why are you yelling? We just want to take you out for some fun, and it will give you great pleasure." One of the men there gave a mischievous look. They were preparing to ambush Fiona.

But at that moment, Samuel arrived at the right moment. He pulled Fiona next to him. "Stop what you're doing."
