“Kill him!”

“Break his bones!”

“Show him who runs this place!”

Chaos erupted inside Blackstone Penitentiary, the most dangerous prison in Greyhaven.

A hulking inmate stood in the center of the yard, his prison uniform soaked in blood. He had already sent seventeen men to the infirmary, and he wasn't finished.

“I’m the new King of Blackstone!”

His name was Darius Vane, a convicted mass murderer who had arrived less than five hours ago.

He kicked a metal bench across the concrete. It slammed into the door of Cell 001.

The entire block went silent.

Then the steel door clicked open.

A young man stepped out.

Tall and lean, with messy black hair and tired gray eyes, he looked more annoyed than threatened. He stretched, yawned, and glanced at Darius.

“Hey, bulldog.”

Darius stared at him.

“I’m trying to sleep.”

A few inmates lowered their heads.

They already knew what was coming.

Darius didn't.

“You talking to me, kid?”

Elias Crowe rubbed his eyes.

“Who else has been barking?”

Darius's face twisted with rage.

“I’ll kill you.”

He lunged.

His fist came toward Elias's head with enough force to crack concrete.

Elias raised one hand.

One finger stopped the punch.

Darius froze.

He pushed harder.

Nothing happened.

Elias sighed.

“You could've behaved like a good dog.”

He touched Darius's forehead with one finger.

“Now stay down.”

BOOM!

A shockwave exploded through the corridor.

Darius was launched backward and crashed into the concrete wall. The reinforced surface cracked beneath the impact.

He dropped to the floor.

Dead.

Silence swallowed Blackstone.

Elias looked at the body, then at the inmates staring back at him.

“Clean that up.”

One inmate immediately nodded.

“Yes, Master Elias.”

“Back to your cells.”

The inmates obeyed without hesitation.

“I'm taking a nap.”

The doors began closing.

Blackstone had been a cage for monsters long before Elias arrived. Murderers, cartel leaders, war criminals, traffickers—men too dangerous for ordinary prisons.

Then Elias Crowe entered Blackstone at sixteen.

Three years later, the riots stopped.

Five years later, gang leaders bowed.

Eight years later, the prison had a king.

But Elias wasn't feared only because of his strength.

He could heal.

Broken bones. Internal bleeding. Injuries prison doctors couldn't treat. His hands could destroy a man just as easily as they could save one.

The inmates eventually gave him a name.

The Saint of Blackstone.

They feared him.

They respected him.

And, strangely enough, they trusted him.

Elias turned toward his cell, already irritated that his nap had been interrupted.

Then a voice stopped him.

“Mr. Crowe.”

Elias turned.

At the far end of the corridor stood Warden Marcus Vale, flanked by two armed officers.

Marcus was a powerful man, but tonight there was no authority in his expression.

Only desperation.

“I need a minute with you.”

“Tomorrow.”

Elias opened his cell door.

“I haven't finished my nap.”

Then—

Thud.

Elias stopped.

He looked back.

Marcus Vale was on his knees.

The two officers behind him stood frozen.

“My daughter is dying.”

Elias's expression changed slightly.

Marcus swallowed.

“She was healthy six months ago. Then the seizures started. Her nervous system is failing. Her organs are beginning to shut down, and every specialist we've taken her to has failed.”

His voice cracked.

“We've tried everything. Hospitals across Greyhaven. Specialists from New Carthage. Doctors overseas.”

Nothing.

Marcus lowered his head.

“Nothing has worked.”

Elias stared at him.

“I know what people say about you,” Marcus continued. “I've seen what you can do. You saved Silas Rourke after he was stabbed six times. You healed a man whose spine doctors said was beyond repair.”

His eyes filled with desperation.

“They call you the Saint of Blackstone.”

“I don't care what they call me.”

“I know.”

Marcus clenched his fists.

“That's why I'm asking you as a father.”

He bowed his head.

“Please save my daughter.”

The corridor became completely silent.

Elias stepped closer.

“Why should I?”

Marcus looked up.

“You run this prison. You decide who suffers. You decide who gets punished and who gets left behind.”

His voice remained calm.

“And now you want me to save someone you love.”

“She has nothing to do with this place.”

“Neither did many of the people you've allowed to suffer.”

Marcus had no answer.

For several seconds, the two men stared at each other.

Then Marcus whispered:

“Because she's my daughter.”

His voice broke.

“And I'm begging you.”

Elias looked at him for a long moment.

Then he turned toward his cell.

“Bring her here tomorrow.”

Marcus's head snapped up.

“You'll help?”

Elias stopped at the doorway.

“I said bring her here.”

He glanced over his shoulder.

“Whether I can help her is something I'll decide after I see her.”

Marcus nodded quickly.

“Thank you.”

“Don't thank me yet.”

Elias stepped inside.

Then he looked back.

“And Warden?”

“Yes?”

Elias's gray eyes turned cold.

“If you're lying to me…”

He paused.

“You'll wish your daughter was the only thing you had to worry about.”

The cell door closed.

Click.

Marcus remained on his knees.

For the first time in eleven years, the Warden of Blackstone understood the truth.

He hadn't come to ask an inmate for help.

He had come to ask the King.

  • The Man Zucker Feared

The road to Bellweather Ridge grew narrower with every mile.Elias drove through the darkness while Elara studied the coordinates Gideon had provided. The abandoned settlement lay beyond Greyhaven’s northern outskirts, hidden among wooded hills and winding roads that had long since disappeared from most digital maps.Neither had spoken much during the journey. The name Silas Wren weighed heavily on Elias’s mind, but he refused to let the discovery distract him from his immediate objective. Wren could wait. For the first time in years, Elias had a chance to confront the one man who might explain why his family had been murdered and why he had spent a decade inside Blackstone.Zucker was alive. That single fact had unsettled everything Elias thought he understood about his past.“There,” Elara said.A narrow dirt road branched away from the main route, disappearing between towering trees. Elias turned onto it, driving

  • The King Sets the Trap

By midnight, Elias Crowe had turned Azure headquarters into a hunting ground.Zia had prepared the false intelligence with enough authentic details to survive scrutiny. According to the documents, Elias had discovered a new lead concerning Zucker and planned to meet a confidential source at an abandoned research facility outside Greyhaven. The location was remote, the security arrangements believable, and the information had passed through the same operational account Darius Venn controlled.Everything had been designed to look genuine.Nothing about it was true.Elias stood before a digital map in the conference room, studying the surrounding roads. Zia, Elara, and four Azure elders waited nearby. Chad Bozeman leaned against the wall with his arms folded, while George Hale examined the communication records on a separate screen.“How many people have accessed the false schedule?” Elias asked.“Seven accounts in total,” Zia

  • The Betrayal Within Azure

Elias had barely reached the Azure headquarters when his phone rang.Zia’s name appeared on the screen.“Where are you?” she asked without greeting him.“Returning to the headquarters. Why?”“Good. Don’t leave again until you hear what I’ve found. And Elias, come alone.”He glanced at Elara, who was walking beside him. “That depends on what you’ve found.”“Someone has been leaking our movements.”Elias stopped. For a moment, the noise of the city seemed to recede into the background. He thought of Gideon’s warning, the hidden safehouse at Bellweather Ridge, and the unknown traitor who had forced Zucker into hiding.“Explain.”“I’ll explain when you arrive. I don’t want to discuss this over the phone.”The call ended.Elara studied his expression. “Zia?”“Someone inside Azure has been feeding information to our enemies.”“Do you think it has something to

  • Zucker’s Location

Gideon Rook remained silent for several seconds after Elias spoke. The old man studied him across the table, as though measuring whether he truly understood what finding Zucker would mean.“You want his location,” Gideon finally said. “Then you need to understand why he disappeared in the first place.”Elias leaned back slightly. “You said someone inside Azure betrayed him.”“Someone with access to information that should never have left Zucker’s private circle. His movements, his communications, even the identities of people he trusted. At first, he suspected an external breach. By the time he realized the leak was coming from within, several people loyal to him had already been compromised.”“Did he identify the traitor?”“I don’t know. He never told me a name.” Gideon rubbed his thumb against the edge of his walking stick. “What I know is that Zucker believed his continued presence would put Azure—and eventually you—at risk. So he

  • The Old Man Wakes

The dead man’s final words continued to trouble him.Zucker knew this day would come.Elias had already learned that Zucker helped Richard investigate Custodian, recognized his unusual Aether, and prepared him to lead Azure. Now he needed to understand what his master had known about the people who would eventually come after him.And there was only one person who might know enough to explain.Gideon Rook met Elias and Elara inside the chapel. When Elias described the attack and repeated the warrior’s final words, Gideon’s expression changed.“Then the time has come,” the old archivist murmured.“What time?” Elias demanded. “What do you know about Zucker?”Gideon studied him fo

  • The First Celestial

The attack began at 2:17 a.m.Azure’s northern facility was responsible for intelligence storage and secure communications. It wasn’t one of the organization’s largest installations, but it housed sensitive records connected to the Custodian investigation.By the time the emergency call reached Elias, three guards were injured, the main security gate had been destroyed, and the intruder had already entered the central building.“Have the remaining personnel withdraw,” Elias ordered over the phone. “Nobody engages him until I arrive.”“King, we’ve already tried to stop him,” the security chief replied, his voice strained. “Our strongest fighters couldn’t hold him back.”“Who is he?”“We don’t know. But whatever his cultivation level is, it’s beyond anything we’ve encountered.”Elias ended the call and turned to Zia.“Get the facility’s surviving personnel out.
