Because of his disobedient behavior, Beverly Cox's temper became increasingly agitated.Jaden stopped her from carrying out her plan to instruct him, despite the fact that she had every intention of doing so.

Jaden walked up to Vera and said, "I'm sorry you had to deal with this matter on your own. Ignore Alex's childish taunt. I'm sorry that you had to go through all of that.I was not aware that Cox Group had removed your company from the list of companies that had the potential to become business partners; however, you should not be concerned about this because I will assist you in regaining your position in the competition.”

As soon as Vera heard this, she had the impression that she had just been let in on the funniest joke ever told in the entire history of the world.She couldn't help but laugh out loud when she saw how determined he was to get what he wanted.

Just as Vera was about to correct Jaden for his behavior, Alex interjected himself into the conversation.

Alex sneered condescendingly at Jaden while directing his attention to Jaden and asked, "Who the hell do you think you are?" Jaden was the target of Alex's question. 

“You have no right to make such brazen assertions given that you are nothing more than a homeless dog that is entirely reliant on the Rae family for your continued existence. I'm speechless because I can't believe you have the audacity to say that!”

When Vera heard Jaden make such confident assertions, it disheartened her just as much as it did anyone else.

The only thing that Jaden had managed to accomplish in the past three years was to waste the money that his mother-in-law had worked so hard to earn. He was nothing more than a worthless son-in-law and husband who put all of their survival faith in his wife. She was their only source of sustenance.

How come all of a sudden he has the gall to brag about his superpowers in front of her? What gives him the nerve to do that?

How disgusting!

"Jaden Reed! I warned you not to attempt things that are outside of your capabilities, so it is imperative that you heed my advice.You have been nothing but a slumdog all this time, and now you have the audacity to think that I will ask for your assistance? I'm embarrassed for you”. Vera admonished with a stern tone, her angry face creased, "Don't make me look stupid in front of other people and cause me to lose face," she said. 

 The defeat was too much for Jaden, and he went into a mute state as a result.

After some time had passed, Jaden made an effort to explain why he was confident that he could assist Vera, but Alex pushed him away angrily before he could finish his explanation.

Alex confronted him  with a determined expression and asked, "What can you do at this time? Are you going to get out of the house and go around town asking people for money so that you can survive? Please put an end to this embarrassing behavior, not only for yourself but also for Vera.”

While Alex was talking, he reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone, which had been doing nothing in his pocket.

Once the phone was in his hand, Alex continued his conversation.

Alex sneered at him with a condescending tone and asked, "What do you know? Our Shawn family and the Cox Group have been deeply involved partners for many years. This time, from the project that will cost two billion dollars, our family will be able to receive at least one-third of it! I will allow my dad to directly allot an opportunity for Vera to become a part of this company, and I will even try to convince them to give her a multimillion-dollar project from this third party to subcontract to Vera. Wouldn't this be of assistance to her in completing the task?”

Jaden said in surprise: "Oh! I was taken aback to learn that Mr. Shawn's family has such a long-standing connection with the Cox Group!”

Alex gave a chilly snort and then said, "Of course! Who in the city is oblivious to the fact that members of our Shawn family are integral members of the Cox Group?”

After he had finished speaking, Alex looked at Jaden with a condescending expression on his face and advised Jaden, "Jaden, I advise you to leave Vera as a frog at the bottom of the well.A man like you is unable to make her happy and will only serve to stand in her way as she attempts to advance”.

Beverly Cox looked on with disdain as she watched the scene.It was beyond her comprehension how Alex could have the confidence to behave in such an arrogant manner in front of her.

"I'm going to call my dad right now, and he'll take care of everything.You aren't going to believe it until you see it for yourself!

When Arthur Shawn got the call from his son, who had dialed his number, he was still irritated by the demands that his son had made earlier, but he reluctantly answered the phone when he saw that the call is from his son.

Alex pleaded with his father, "Dad, this is a really serious matter now, and you need to assist Vera in gaining a spot on the team," he  said.“If you are unable to make this happen for your son, then I will have no choice but to concede defeat in front of the people who are important to me.You wouldn't want anything bad to happen to your son, especially something like that, would you?”

 Alex made an effort to apply some psychological force to his father's decision-making process.

His father became exasperated when he brought the topic up once more, and while squealing, he said, "You're really crazy, Alex Shawn! Pay attention to what I have to say; you have to break the habit of talking positively about yourself when other people are present.If I'm not even qualified to clean the Cox family's shoes, how am I supposed to get a chance to pull some strings in your favor? I don't even know where to begin. It won't be possible for me to do so at this time, even if I really wanted to. I won't be able to do that even if I really wanted to”.

"I want you to stop bringing up this issue, and I want you to leave that area as soon as possible."

When Arthur unexpectedly hung up on Alex without giving it any further thought, Alex's level of embarrassment caused him to have no choice but to cover his ears and bite his tongue.

Despite the fact that Alex was unable to pull the strings in the way that he had planned, he continued to act as though nothing was wrong and returned to Vera with a smile on his face.

Alex felt uncomfortable.In spite of this, he continued to act as though he was not  speakerphone so no one else was able to hear the conversation he was having with his father.

At the very least, a portion of his dignity had been maintained.

“How did everything work out in the end? Would it be possible for your father to assist me even at this late hour?" Vera expressed concern as she inquired about it.

“There is no reason for alarm, and he has assured me that he will be of assistance to me.There is no need to be concerned; instead, let's put our full trust in his discretion with regard to this matter. “

Alex was forced to stage a fight with Jaden, despite the fact that he had no chance  of winning, because he did not want to give the impression that he was weak in front of a known loser like Jaden he had to do it.

On the other hand, after giving it some consideration, he arrived at a decision regarding it.

What exactly is the purpose of maintaining this relationship with Vera Rae? 

Alex was having some sort of thought that went something like this in his head: "She's going to lose everything soon and maybe even fall into a huge debt; it's better if I left her soon.’

Just as they were about to leave the scene, Vera received an unexpected phone call just as they were getting ready to leave.

Instantaneously, the thoughtful and miserable expression that had been on her face vanished, and it was replaced by a beaming smile as she exclaimed, "What? Do you intend to imply that I meet the criteria to become one of your business partners?
