The three bodyguards rushed forward. With the way Ethan was dressed, one would think he had no fighting skills.

He was an easy target to take down.

They were wrong.

The first bodyguard rushed forward. Ethan released Vanessa's hand and took two steps away from her, not to hurt her.

Vanessa's face turned pale. She didn't mean to put Ethan in such a position.

“Be careful." She whispered.

The moment the first bodyguard arrived, Ethan moved his body slightly to the side. The incoming punch missed completely.

Before the guard could react—

Bang!

Ethan's fist slammed into his stomach.

The bodyguard folded like a shrimp, his eyes bulged, and all the air left his lungs.

The second bodyguard charged forward. Ethan grabbed the man's wrist and twisted.

Crack!

A painful scream erupted, and the crowd gasped in shock. They never expected that Ethan was a fighter. Even Vanessa was shocked.

The third bodyguard hesitated. That moment of hesitation cost him because Ethan's foot smashed into his chest before he knew it.

The man flew backwards and crashed onto the pavement.

Everyone was stunned.

Ethan had just defeated three bodyguards in less than a minute.

Vanessa's eyes brightened. While Mike's confident smile completely vanished.

Ethan smirked.

Mike pointed at Ethan with mixed emotions, “You—! How did…how is…"

“How did I defeat them?" Ethan asked, then shrugged. "They're weak.”

This caused Mike's face to turn instantly dark.

Ethan smirked.

He slowly began to walk forward, but Mike unconsciously stepped back. He pointed at Ethan,

"Do you know who I am?"

"There it is," Ethan paused and sighed dramatically, "The favorite line of so-called rich idiots."

The crowd laughed.

Mike flared up, " Did you just call me a fool?! Do you want to die!”

[Ding!]

" Can you kill me?” Ethan asked. He glanced at the bodyguards who were still groaning on the floor, and he asked, “Or are you still banking on these weaklings to save you?"

Mike's face turned red in rage.

"You bastard!”

" Careful now. At this rate, your blood pressure might become a medical emergency."

Mike clenched his fists, "This has nothing to do with you. This is between Vanessa and me.”

Ethan turned. Vanessa stood by the side, still holding the documents in her hands. He walked toward her and held her closely to himself.

Mike's eyes widened, “You! Get your dirty hands off her."

" Or what?” Ethan asked.

Mike suddenly had a bad feeling.

Ethan didn't wait for Mike to reply, "No wonder Vanessa rejected you. You have the face of bad luck."

Mike almost exploded in rage.

[Ding!]

“If you were the only male on earth, she wouldn't still say yes to you."

The crowd burst into laughter.

Mike's fingers tightened.

Ethan was having fun and getting points for it.

Mike's body was trembling in rage. If eyes could kill, Ethan would have dropped dead already. But Ethan had beaten his bodyguards in less than a minute; there is no way he would be able to beat Ethan now.

In anger, he pointed his index finger at Ethan,

" This isn't over!”

[Ding!]

Shaking in rage, Mike swore, "I'll make sure you'll be blacklisted from every company in this city!”

Ethan locked cold gaze with Mike. The man shuddered and stepped backward in fear.

While Ethan took one step. Slow and deliberate. Mike moved backwards. The pressure was overwhelming.

“I'd like to see you try." The words came out with so much confidence that Mike froze.

“I—I—I will be back for you!” He stuttered and turned to the guards, " Let's go!”

The injured guards struggled to their feet and followed Mike away.

Ethan's threatening gaze followed him until he disappeared from sight.

[Ding!]

[Mission Complete.]

[Humiliate Mike in public.]

Ethan smiled.

Apparently, humiliation paid well.

“Thank you." Vanessa exhaled, "And I am so sorry for pulling you into my mess.”

“It's alright. It's not your fault." Ethan replied, but Vanessa shook her head.

She reached for her bag and pulled out a card.

" Here. This is my business card. If you cannot find a job, contact me. My company will always be open to you."

Ethan raised a brow. With a smirk, he took the card from her.

" I'll keep that in mind.” He replied.

Vanessa nodded with a smile and finally walked off.

Ethan was still staring at Vanessa when he heard hurried steps approaching him.

"Chairman!" The manager finally arrived. He looked nervous. He bowed respectfully, "Forgive me for being late.”

“Henry Donald?" Ethan asked, still staring at Vanessa.

" Yes sir.” The man who looked like he had run a hundred miles, replied.

" Who is that lady?” Ethan asked, finally turning to see Henry.

“That's Vanessa Marsh. She's the CEO of the Glorious Corp., and she's one of the tenants here.” Henry explained.

Ethan slowly nodded at that.

"Business for her has been poor lately, investors withdrew, and she hasn't been able to pay this year's rent. We've served several eviction notices, but she keeps asking for more time.”

Ethan hummed.

No wonder Mike was so audacious.

He had actually thought the man was exaggerating. Looks like Vanessa really needed a miracle to save her company.

“She even said she wants to meet with you. The new owner.”

Ethan's brows rose slightly, "What for?”

Henry shrugged, “What else but to extend her time here?"

Ethan nodded thoughtfully.

Vanessa was far more persistent than most people and also one of a kind.

She’s in much trouble yet she gave him her business card, promising to help him get a job if Mike did anything stupid.

The door of the elevator slid open, and they stepped out.

Then, the door to the chairman's office. Ethan stepped into a sophisticated office. Expensive furniture and top-notch interiors.

Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooked the city skyline, while the cool air carried the scent of luxury.

Ethan's eyes wandered around to look, this was ten times better than his former boss’s entire company. He walked towards the chair behind the desk and sat on it.

"So, tell me, where do I sign?"

Henry rushed over with a black file. He passed it to Ethan and stepped aside for Ethan to read the documents.

After reading, Ethan picked up the pen and signed the documents. All transfers of ownership have been completed.

“Sir, would you like to meet with your tenants already?" Henry asked. “We can quickly arrange for the meeting."

Ethan looked down at his wristwatch. He still has to go visit Jenna in the hospital.

“Not today." He replied, “I have somewhere else to be."

He stood to his feet.

A knock echoed.

“Come in." He answered before Henry could.

An employee stepped in. His eyes lingered on Ethan for a while, then he greeted him with a bow. Then he turned to Henry and, with a low voice, explained, "Sir, Miss Vanessa is here again.”

" What does she want now?!” Henry asked with a low voice but clenched fists.

" She said she wants to have a word with you, sir.”

Henry hissed. What's more important than being in the same space as the chairman of Imperial Tower?

"I am busy.” Henry declined, "I don't have—”

" Let her in.” Ethan cut in, loud and clear.

Henry and the employee who just stepped in stared at Ethan in shock,

“Sir?" They asked simultaneously.

“I said let her in."

“Yes. Yes." Henry replied after coming out of his daze. He turned to the employee,

“You heard the chairman. Go get her here right now."

“Chair… man?” The employee's eyes widened. “Yes, sir." He quickly rushed out.

Ethan leaned back with a faint smile.

Vanessa was about to discover she had offered the owner of the Imperial Tower a job.

The next day came almost as easily as any other. Ethan walked into the office to find the usual bustle already in full swing."Mr. Ethan," Gladdy called, spotting him from across the floor and hurrying over."Yes, what is it?" Ethan asked, his tone nowhere near as tense as the concern written across her face."We've got a bit of a situation," she said, and Ethan raised an eyebrow."What kind of situation?""When we told Ford Group's legal team we wouldn't be reversing the client transfers, they refused to accept it. Now we've got a second lawsuit stacked on top of the first, this time over the clients we won from them the other day.""Then they're being remarkably stupid," Ethan said. "Either that, or desperation's already showing through the cracks. Everything we did was legal, start to finish. They're just grasping for loopholes that don't exist.""How can we be sure they don't exist?" Gladdy asked."Because I already had Vanessa draft every contract, every permit, every clause with

"The winner of this market is—" Vanessa hadn't finished repeating herself when Williams interjected."We heard you the first time," he said. "But that's not the case here, we haven't said anything wrong. We were still deliberating our answer!"When he saw Vanessa's expression shift into something far more comfortable than understanding, he couldn't help but snatch up the papers again and jab a finger at them."We've looked through the papers," Thomas argued, "and just like Mr. Ethan said, there was no timer dictating when we had to give an answer. So there shouldn't be any penalty for that!""Yes, exactly what he said," Reeves added. "We've combed through this thing and there's no time limit written anywhere. At this point it's starting to look like the whole setup was rigged from the start!"[Ding!] [Rage detected.] [+150 Rage Points.]Even as the points piled up in front of him, Ethan couldn't help the frown pulling at his mouth."That's exactly why I told you not to apply common

Williams' hand slammed down on the buzzer.Yet, he didn’t say anything immediately prompting the others to react with disdain towards him. "What do you think you're doing? Is that the exact same mistake as last time?" Reeves snapped."No, it's not!" Williams said, raising a finger to silence him. "Listen. If you noticed, there was no timer that started counting down after the buzzer was pressed." He said it slowly, like a man laying out hard-won knowledge.Ethan said nothing, watching in silence, his expression giving away nothing as he waited to see if they'd actually pieced it together correctly. He didn't bother hiding it once they had. "That's correct," Ethan said, and their eyes lit up in shock."There's no timer requiring you to answer within a set window," Ethan spelled out plainly. "You can cross-check the papers you signed earlier. There is nothing in there about it. It's not a trick, and it's not a gimmick and you don’t need to worry about any pop up rules that is not alrea

Vanessa shifted in her stance the moment she heard Reeves' request. Her brows furrowed slightly with worry as her gaze drifted toward Ethan. Even seated the way he was, calm and seemingly invulnerable. But she still felt antsy because she believed he wasn’t. After all, the very first one had already proven that. And yet, for some reason, his confidence felt almost unshakable. She drew in a slow breath, exhaled it just as evenly, and asked again. "Who's calling first?"The silence dragged just a few seconds, all four men throwing glances toward Ethan, who welcomed the attention without the slightest flicker of discomfort.Ethan stretched his hand out to press down on his own buzzer when Reeves reached for his faster so he could answer first. "Hm?" the man asked, feigning innocence, though Ethan had no intention of repeating himself."Do I owe you anything?" the man pressed instead, and Ethan finally let himself take a proper look at him.He was a man in his mid-fifties, with the tip of his hair having a silver tint, dressed in a way that made it obvious money had never once been a question in his life. The longer Ethan studied him, the clearer it became why the man carried himself the way he did — like someone who'd never had to consider that the world might not simply bend around him."No, you don't," Ethan said. "After all, you're going to be saving every single dollar you'd have spent buying that." He tilted his chin toward the fabric still clutched possessively in the man's hands. The man shot him a sneering look, clearly stung by the implication even as he tried not to show it.“Classic stupidity,” Ethan thought, already turning to walk away. It was the kind of arrogance that only came from old money — the assumption
