Not long after Tyson was sent back to his cell, the warden came to see the commissioner general.
At this moment, the commissioner general still hadn’t gotten over his earlier conversation with Tyson. Although he had made a promise, he needed to weigh the pros and cons before taking any action.
Coincidentally, the warden arrived right then.
The commissioner general looked at him without revealing anything. He only responded to the greeting with indifference.
“Commissioner General, how did your conversation with Tyson go? Was what he said true?”
Instead of answering directly, the commissioner general replied with a hint of sarcasm, “If it wasn’t, why would I have bothered to see him?”
“Ah, right… of course,” the warden replied awkwardly.
Not wanting to linger any longer, the commissioner general stood up and walked out. Before leaving, he glanced at the warden with a faint warning and said, “This is classified. Don’t let any outsiders find out. As for Tyson, he’s crucial for the ongoing investigation. Make sure he’s not given a hard time for now.”
“Yes, sir,” the warden replied firmly. “Commissioner, in that case, could I—”
“Oh, I’m in a hurry.” The commissioner general entered his official car without listening to what the warden wanted to say.
He knew very well that things in that place were dirty, after all, every country had one or two prisons that weren’t entirely clean. The commissioner general frowned deeply.
“Find every piece of fabricated evidence that was used against Tyson,” he ordered one of his aides.
The aide nodded, then asked, “Commissioner General, are you really going to do this?”
“Yes. We need him. If finding the leader of the Vortex Cartel were that easy, our police wouldn’t have spent months investigating without a single lead.”
The aide understood. He, too, had witnessed what Tyson had done in that room with the commissioner general.
Tyson’s case would inevitably affect the structure of the police force, causing all sorts of complications.
Whether he liked it or not, the commissioner general had to release Tyson and clear his name first before the police could make use of him.
“Keep everything about this confidential, his release, his abilities. For now, consider him our secret weapon.”
“Yes, Commissioner General.”
…
Within just a few days, the atmosphere in Prison No. 73 grew noticeably more tense. The commissioner general’s movements were clearly not slow.
Tyson was at the laundry area when two of Big Boss’s subordinates approached him.
“Big Boss wants you in the special room.”
Hearing those words, Tyson, whose name wasn’t mentioned, didn’t react at all. He calmly continued sorting the clothes, piece by piece, to put them into the washing machine.
The two of Big Boss’s subordinates frowned in displeasure, but there was nothing they could do, Big Boss himself had warned them not to offend Tyson.
One of them softened his tone and spoke again, “Tyson, Big Boss asked us to bring you to him. Now.”
Only then did Tyson look up at them. “I still have work in my hands.”
“In that case…” The man nudged his partner and added, “Let him finish it for you.”
Of course, his partner protested, but faced with the other two’s looks, he could only reluctantly nod in agreement, muttering under his breath so quietly that only he could hear it.
“Thanks, then,” Tyson said, handing over his task. He followed the other man toward the special room where Big Boss was waiting for him.
Inside the familiar room, Big Boss sat in his exclusive chair, puffing on a cigarette and occasionally glancing toward the door.
When Tyson arrived, he was greeted far more politely than before. He was even invited to sit on the sofa near Big Boss, and several people offered him good food and drinks.
It had been a long time since Tyson had eaten anything like that, so he didn’t hesitate. Besides, according to the system, the food was free of poison.
“What is it? Why did you call me?”
“Nothing big,” Big Boss replied, though his casual demeanor carried a faint seriousness.
After a few moments of small talk, Big Boss finally voiced the question that had been circling his mind for days. “What are you planning?”
Ordinary inmates in this prison probably had no idea that there had been some unrest among the officers stationed there. But as the warden’s biggest financial backer, Big Boss knew about it, if not in detail, at least in part.
He vaguely suspected that the situation had something to do with Tyson.
Without answering, Tyson casually glanced around at the others in the room and continued eating.
Big Boss understood. He gestured for his men to leave. After all, he came from one of the city’s influential families himself.
Soon, only the two of them remained in the room. Growing impatient, Big Boss asked again, “Does the warden’s problem have something to do with you?”
This time, Tyson responded, but not with a direct answer. “He’s been too corrupt and has broken too many rules. Isn’t it only natural for him to get into trouble eventually?”
Big Boss stared at him, speechless. How could someone change so drastically in such a short time? Even if Tyson had been hiding his true self all along, why would he have endured all that humiliation until now?
But for some reason, Big Boss couldn’t bring himself to ask those questions. It felt as if something was holding him back.
In the end, he asked another question instead. “Do you know that Lady De Leon will be holding her birthday party at the Palacio Hotel?”
Tyson didn’t answer. He knew his grandmother’s birthday was in two weeks, but he had no idea where or how it would be celebrated. After all, ever since he’d been imprisoned, it seemed his ties with the De Leon family had been severed.
“If you want to attend, I can have someone get you an invitation,” Big Boss offered.
Hearing that, Tyson looked at him, puzzled by the sudden kindness.
“Of course,” Big Boss added with a sly smile, “there’s a condition.”

Chapter 166
The emergency lights hadn’t come on when Orion’s body completely collapsed to the floor. Tyson didn’t waste a second. He knelt, making sure Orion’s breathing was stable, then pulled the dark hoodie off the man’s body. His movements were quick and practiced. Then he swapped shoes, changed pants, even adjusted the way the sleeves were folded and the position of the shoulders. At most, ten minutes, that was the window before the system would reactivate and everything would go chaotic.Tyson dragged Orion to the desk chair in front of the computer. He sat him upright, propping the back with additional supports, tied his wrists to the chair’s arms, then secured his ankles to the desk legs. His head was tilted slightly forward, as if focused on the screen. The hoodie he had been wearing, now on Orion, was pulled low to cover part of his face. From a distance, from the angle of a camera that was now off, Orion looked like he was just working, a convincing enough illusion.Noise began to come
Chapter 165
The moment that hand clamped down on his shoulder, Tyson’s body moved faster than his mind. His arm snapped up, catching the wrist before the pressure could fully settle. With one sharp pull, he twisted his torso slightly to the side, wrenching the man’s arm into an unnatural angle.A sharp intake of breath was heard, followed by a strangled groan that turned into a shout as Tyson used the momentum. He rose from the chair in one fluid motion, his shoulder slamming into his opponent’s chest. The man’s balance collapsed. Their bodies spun briefly before both went down, but Tyson was already on top.Tyson’s elbow pressed into the man’s chest, one knee locking his waist in place, while the arm was still twisted back at a punishing angle. The pressure was precise, enough to immobilize, no more, no less. The man screamed in pain, his breathing ragged, anger and humiliation blending into one. His voice echoed through the cramped room, loud enough to trigger chaos.Seconds later, the door bur
Chapter 164
Tyson was moved out of that room without many words. His head was covered tightly again, dark fabric wrapping around his vision, erasing direction and distance. It was not without reason. Slyvn had heard, and read, about Tyson’s past four years ago, about his involvement with the police and the unconventional methods he supposedly possessed, a strange way of “knowing” things.Whether it was instinct, pattern recognition, or something else that could not be explained by simple logic, Slyvn had no intention of taking risks. As a precaution, all possibilities of direct contact were cut off.Tyson was not allowed to see. He was not allowed to recognize voices. He was not allowed to catch any details that could be stored in his mind. His hands were also bound behind his back throughout the transfer, fully restricting his movement. When the covering was finally removed, Tyson was already inside a room clearly designed not for comfort, but for function.A work desk stood in the middle of the
Chapter 163
Under Slyvn’s contemplative gaze and the undisguised aura of violence emanating from his subordinates, Tyson remained seated with the same calm, almost relaxed demeanor.“If you doubt me,” Tyson finally said, his voice low but clear, “you can look into me in Valenbourg.”Slyvn stared at him without expression.“My business. My official trail,” Tyson continued. Then, with the same calm, he mentioned, “Ravenhart.”He lifted his shoulders slightly, as if talking about something trivial.“Unlike before, this time my existence isn’t completely concealed. So I think it won’t be difficult for you to find information about Ravenhart.”It wasn’t a bluff. It was a cold calculation. In a situation like this, where he could die at any moment, Tyson could only offer something bigger, and Ravenhart was one of them.It wasn’t that he was afraid of dying; it was just that his main goal had not yet been achieved. Not to mention, he missed someone.Slyvn did not respond immediately. His eyes remained f
Chapter 162
Time moved slowly in that room. For almost half a day, Tyson was left alone, accompanied only by the sofa, the surveillance cameras, and a deliberately imposed silence. His body remained relaxed, his back leaning against the seat, shoulders lowered as if he did not care. Yet his leg, slowly and repeatedly moving, betrayed one small thing.Impatience.It was not a mistake. Quite the opposite, it was intentional.Tyson knew exactly what kind of man Slyvn Grande was. A man who enjoyed control, who deliberately made his targets wait until their patience was slowly worn down.So Tyson allowed that small crack to show. Just a little, of course, enough to make the man let his guard down. Enough to create the illusion that his composure was beginning to fracture. The door finally opened.Slyvn Grande walked in with an unhurried stride, followed by his right-hand man and several of his subordinates. Their presence filled the room, rough, yet restrained by their leader’s authority.Slyvn sat d
Chapter 161
Mr. Hale stared at Anna with a probing gaze, sharp and calculating, as if trying to pierce through her outermost layer. He said nothing, allowing the silence to hang between them once more. But Anna did not flinch. Her face remained calm, her posture steady. For three years with Tyson, she had learned many things, most of all how to remain standing under pressure. That man had dragged her into situations far more dangerous and exhausting, far more irritating than a mere investigative stare like this. Compared to everything she had seen and experienced, this moment was almost meaningless. She returned the gaze without defiance.A few seconds later, Anna finally spoke.“I was only asking because from your intention to make Tyson the new head of Aelius Group, it means that this position is not inherited based on blood relations or kinship.”Mr. Hale narrowed his eyes slightly, listening.“And also,” Anna continued calmly, “it means it doesn’t have to be someone who has been inside the g
