“Hahaha… Eat you?” the Red-Eyed Dragon said, staring at Lin Jiang.
“Yes. I can tell from your eyes that you want my body,” Lin Jiang replied.
“What a fool. You’re the one who awakened me. If you hadn’t come here, I would still be asleep.”
“Awakened you? What did I do to wake you up?”
“Your blood. Your blood stained this ground, and that is what roused me from my slumber,” the Red-Eyed Dragon answered.
Lin Jiang immediately recalled how he had been gravely injured. The wounds that had not yet healed had reopened after he was brutally beaten by his older brother and his companions.
However, he could no longer find those wounds. Not only had every external injury vanished, but even the internal damage caused by the explosion within his body had completely disappeared.
“What happened to me?” Lin Jiang asked.
“I healed the injuries inside your body.”
“Is that true?”
“Yes. I am a Spiritual Dragon Spirit.”
“That’s impossible! This is beyond anything I could have imagined!” Lin Jiang exclaimed.
Lin Jiang knew that countless spiritual beast spirits existed in the martial world. Among them, the Dragon, the Eagle, and the Tiger ranked at the very top.
And now, standing before him was the mightiest of them all—a Spiritual Dragon Spirit.
“Did you really awaken because of my blood?” Lin Jiang asked.
“Yes. If not for your blood, I would still be sleeping peacefully,” the Spiritual Dragon Spirit replied.
“Doesn’t that mean we were destined to meet?”
“Hahaha! You know quite a lot, boy. But that doesn’t mean I’ll accept you so easily.”
“What must I do for you to accept me?” Lin Jiang asked.
“You’re mature enough. Very well, I’ll tell you.”
Lin Jiang waited anxiously for the dragon spirit’s conditions.
“First, you must accept your destiny as the successor of the Sword of the Dark Sovereign.”
“The Sword of the Dark Sovereign? What kind of sword is that?” Lin Jiang asked.
“It is an incredibly powerful weapon, but one that is filled with the aura of darkness.”
“Where is it? I want to see this darkness for myself.”
“For now, the Sword of the Dark Sovereign has been split into three pieces: the Demon Sword, the Demon Saber, and the Demon Staff,” the Spiritual Dragon Spirit explained.
“Why was it divided?” Lin Jiang asked.
“I already told you. That sword is saturated with darkness. If it had remained whole, it would have become a great calamity if it ever fell into the wrong hands.”
“I understand. Tell me what I have to do.”
“As I said before, the first step is to accept your destiny as the heir to the Sword of the Dark Sovereign.”
“Very well. I accept,” Lin Jiang declared.
“To prove your acceptance, use your blood to anoint the Demon Staff beside you,” the Spiritual Dragon Spirit instructed.
Lin Jiang turned his head and only then realized that a silver staff was standing upright beside him, perfectly still.
Without the slightest hesitation, he bit his finger and let a drop of blood fall onto the tip of the staff.
It was only a single drop of blood, yet before his eyes appeared an endless sea of darkness. The overwhelming sight filled him with fear.
“That darkness is what you will face if you ever misuse the Sword of the Dark Sovereign,” the Spiritual Dragon Spirit said.
“I’ll overcome it. So what should I do next?”
“You foolish boy. You’re far too eager. It should be obvious that you must first increase your strength. Right now, you’re only at the Fifth Level of the Spirit Realm.”
“I know. And it won’t take me long to break through to a higher level,” Lin Jiang replied confidently.
“You should know that you still have an unimaginably long road ahead. Reaching the Divine Emperor Realm is no simple feat.”
“I know. I understand that better than anyone.”
“So, are you ready to accept your destiny?”
“Yes. I’m ready.”
“Good. Then find the remaining two fragments of the Sword of the Dark Sovereign—the Demon Sword and the Demon Saber.”
“Where are they?” Lin Jiang asked.
“The Demon Saber is in the world you came from. It may have long since sunk into obscurity or fallen into slumber, but with the Demon Staff in your possession, you will eventually find it.”
“My world? Where exactly am I now?” Lin Jiang asked.
“Hahaha! You are in the Underworld.”
“The Underworld?”
“Yes. The Underworld—the realm that is often called the Spirit World,” the Spiritual Dragon Spirit replied.
“That’s impossible!” Lin Jiang exclaimed.
“And why is that impossible?”
“Wouldn’t that mean I’m already dead?”
“For the moment, yes. Your physical body remains in your own world, but your soul has arrived in the Spirit World.”
“How could something like that happen?”
“You were pulled here through a dimensional rift. It is all part of the destiny you are meant to walk.”
“Then send me back to my body!” Lin Jiang demanded.
“Are you certain?”
“Why wouldn’t I be?”
“If I were you, I would train much harder in this world and only return once I was strong enough to protect myself,” the Spiritual Dragon Spirit advised.
Lin Jiang fell silent. The dragon spirit’s words made perfect sense. Returning now would accomplish nothing.
“But what about my body? Won’t it decay or be eaten by wild beasts?” Lin Jiang asked.
He knew that his body must still be lying in the Valley of Death, a place teeming with savage beasts and deadly venomous creatures.
“The moment you formed a pact with the Demon Staff, your body became protected. It will continue to develop just as you grow stronger here in the Underworld,” the Spiritual Dragon Spirit explained.
“Is that really true?”
“Why would I lie to you?”
“Very well. I’m willing to train in the Underworld.”
“Excellent. The first thing you must do is pull the Demon Staff out of the ground.”
“Alright. I’ll do it.”
Lin Jiang grasped the top of the Demon Staff and pulled with all his strength.
But the staff refused to budge. It was as though an immense force was resisting him.
“It’s incredibly heavy!” Lin Jiang exclaimed.
“Hahaha! Foolish boy, you can only draw the Demon Staff after reaching the Sky Realm,” the Spiritual Dragon Spirit said.
“So I have to reach that realm before I can pull it out?”
“Yes. But since you have already become part of me, you will receive a portion of my power.”
“Your power?” Lin Jiang repeated in disbelief.
“Yes.”
The dragon spirit floated toward Lin Jiang. Its razor-sharp claw slashed across Lin Jiang’s chest, opening a wound from which blood immediately flowed.
As the blood trickled down his chest, Lin Jiang suddenly felt an intense wave of scorching energy pouring from the dragon spirit’s claws into his body.
“Arghhhhh! It’s burning!” Lin Jiang screamed.

They remained still for a moment, sensing the strange power surrounding the sect.“Do you think it has something to do with Elder So Un’s disciple?”“I don’t know, but I have never sensed such dense black power before. It feels as if it doesn’t belong to a human,” Elder Gui said.“What do you think?” Elder Ho asked.“Perhaps this problem isn’t simply about that boy. I’m certain there is something else going on!”“Then what should we do?”“You watch over that b

“Elder Sha Tan, are you still planning to remain calm after all this?” a deep voice said.“Elder Fui Wan, what do you want?”“Nothing. I simply wanted to see what you plan to do after realizing that there are two people who could become obstacles to us,” Elder Fui Wan said.Without being invited, the leader of the Black Tower Sect sat down opposite Elder Sha Tan. He gave the leader of the Night Demon Sect a disdainful look.“Who said I’m just sitting around doing nothing? I already tried to eliminate that participant from the White Skull Sect, but this fool failed to complete his task!” Elder Sha Tan shouted while pointing at the sect member beside him.“I’m sure you also saw the abilities of the young man who fought earlier, didn’t you?”“Yes, and I honestly don’t know who he is. Where did he come from, and just how strong is that brat?” Elder Sha Tan replied.“After seeing him, what conclusion did you come to?”“I concluded that reaching the championship will be difficult. “Fool! Why didn’t you use the medicinal mushroom that Lin Jiang gave you, Kun Liong?” Elder Phi An said angrily.“Master, don’t get angry here. Your master and these two junior brothers will head to our room. Be careful here, Lin Jiang,” Elder Phi An said.“I know, Elder.
