In a grand and magnificent house stood a clan well known for producing countless powerful cultivators who had now spread across many cities, becoming officials of kingdoms and empires alike.

In Dashan City, this clan stood firm, untouchable, and none dared to cause trouble or provoke them.

Yet, an undesired misfortune befell them. A young man, known to be kind-hearted and immensely talented—once hailed as the future successor of the Patriarch—had now suffered a downfall.

He now lay weak, his energy core destroyed by an unknown assailant. Once admired as a prodigy, he was now deemed trash and mocked by his peers.

Typically, a child would begin training at the age of five. Two years later, they were expected to condense Qi and reach the early stage of the Black Realm. Failure to do so meant being labeled defective, with little chance of ever reaching the highest realms.

But the story was different for the son of Patriarch Chen. At five years old, he had already broken into the Black Realm, and by the age of ten, he had reached the Core Energy Realm. Such achievements stirred envy not only among the other children but also among their parents.

Until a fateful incident occurred a month ago…

He refused to accept his condition, yet what could he do? Every medicine, every treasure had been exhausted in an attempt to repair his energy core, yet no result was shown.

For months, Patriarch Chen Long searched for the culprit, but no progress was made. The only clue was a star-shaped tattoo on the wrist of the one who had crippled his son.

“What a pitiful fate you have, my child!” A tearful voice echoed, accompanied by a mother’s embrace, wetting the face of the ten-year-old boy.

“I am tired, Mother. Tired of being insulted, called trash. I’d rather die than bear this shame, dragging our family’s name into humiliation!”

“Don’t say such things, my son. You must be strong—you are the heir of the clan!” His mother tried to remain steadfast, but her words were difficult to reconcile with reality. For a clan leader had to be strong, not weak and powerless without Qi or inner energy.

“Oh, Mother, you are too kind. Father’s position itself may soon be replaced, for the wolves’ stomachs are growling, eager to tear our small family apart. I am certain what happened to me was the work of someone inside. There’s no need to look far—only the elders knew the place where I trained. This is the beginning of a conspiracy!” Chen Nian voiced his suspicion.

And indeed, such suspicions often missed little.

“It seems you are right. I too only now realize, for I trusted them too much to ever doubt. I will take you to meet Grandpa Ling in Linggau City. Pack your things.” Ling Hua spoke gently and left her son’s room. She walked back toward her chamber to see her husband.

The door creaked open…

“Aaaahhh! Help! There’s a murderer!” Ling Hua screamed in horror upon seeing her husband collapsed, blood seeping from his stomach and mouth.

“Run, my love! We have been betrayed by everyone!”

Ling Hua dashed with all her strength after hearing her husband’s final command. As she ran, she called for the guards, but not a single one came. It was as if everything had been prearranged.

Ling Hua was not a cultivator. She was just an ordinary woman who had married the clan leader by fortune and her beauty. Now her life hung on the edge of death.

Chen Nian, hearing his mother’s scream, rushed out of his room. He saw a man chasing his mother, his weapon dripping with blood. He recognized the figure—it was First Elder Chen Rui, the father of Chen Kai, who had been mocking him relentlessly and even beating him these past days.

“Run, Nian Er! Save your life!” Ling Hua shouted when she saw the fear in her son’s eyes. Chen Nian froze, like a statue, unable to move even an inch.

“Quickly, my son! Run! I will hold him off!” With those words, her body convulsed as a sword pierced her back, thrusting through her chest.

Tears streamed down Chen Nian’s face. Even if his energy core were intact, he would still be powerless against them—let alone now, when it was shattered. He turned and ran, leaving his mother who had sacrificed herself to protect him.

The boy ran out of the house, the heavy rain pouring down as if the heavens themselves mourned his family’s fate.

The pain in his heart was unbearable. He would now be all alone. But within that grief, the fire of vengeance ignited, pushing him to live on.

“Father! Mother! I will avenge your deaths. By the heavens and the earth, and the rain that bears witness!” he screamed as he ran, uncaring of his broken sandals, uncaring of his frail and weak body.

The only thing he cared about now was surviving—so that one day, he could gain strength and ignite the fire of his vengeance.

Chen Rui leapt, kicking off a tree to propel himself far forward, quickly closing in on the fleeing Chen Nian.

That night, the world felt deathly silent, as if only the boy and the First Elder existed, locked in a chase within the clan grounds.

“You cannot run any longer, boy. Hand over the Dragon Bracelet you’re hiding!”

Chen Nian was cornered against a wall. There was no escape. Shouting was useless—for now, several clan members had emerged, yet they only stood watching. Their silence revealed their complicity.

“The strong shall rule!” declared Elder Chen Zhi, a trusted confidant of Chen Long. “Hand over the Dragon Bracelet—the symbol of the Chen Clan’s leadership. Do so, and perhaps the future Patriarch will show you mercy.” His words bore no warmth, only cold cruelty.

“Hahaha!” Chen Rui laughed harshly. “Now you see! Life is about choosing strength over weakness! Chen Long is unfit to be Patriarch, for he has a crippled son like you! He never cared for us—only for you, a boy who can no longer cultivate! Angry, are you?!” Chen Rui’s eyes burned with madness. “Hand over the Dragon Bracelet! Or else!”

“I don’t have it! I already told you, I don’t have it!” the boy cried, voice trembling with the helpless tone of a child under intimidation. “But I will remember this day, and your faces! Remember this—if I survive, if I gain strength, I will return one day to demand retribution for the hatred burning within my heart!”

With that, he pressed something on the wall. A hidden mechanism clicked, and a secret passage opened. His small body fell into it and was swept away by the underground river’s current.

Everyone knew of that escape route—designed for clan members in case of sudden attack.

“I will chase him!” Chen Zhi leapt, but was stopped by Chen Rui.

“No need. That river is filled with crocodiles. If you go after him, it will be in vain. By now, he is surely inside one of their bellies. Do not do anything foolish. Cleanse this clan of the blood and the corpses of that husband and wife. Spread the word of their deaths with some embellishment, and then… we shall hold the ceremony to appoint a new Patriarch!” Chen Rui said with a triumphant smile.

“Already wet, why not bathe altogether? No matter how clever a squirrel is at jumping, one day it will fall as well. So don’t try to hide something in a shallow river.”“Who is hiding something? I truly don’t know him, so what do I have to hide?” Fu San still argued and denied it. He raised both hands as if surrendering to the situation.“Even now you still deny it. I can no longer hold back. Feel this!” said Chen Nian. Chen Nian moved, disappearing from his position, and Fu San was thrown when he reappeared. Such speed—it was nearly impossible for ordinary eyes to follow.Even Kang Seulong, who had already reached the peak stage of the Sky Realm, felt he could not match such rapid movement.“Father, your son is in danger!” Fu San used something in his hand—a sound-transmitting stone for long-distance voice messages, also called a communication stone.Seeing that, Chen Nian quickly seized the communication stone from Fu San’s hand, kept it, and struck again.Bam! Bam! Bam! Three punch

Meanwhile, he saw Lan Lihua already swinging her sword.Swing! The wind howled as her blade slashed toward the hand trapped by Chen Nian.“Damn! Why is this happening?” Wang’s heart trembled, never expecting to be caught in such a situation. Yet there was no panic on his face, for he still had two free legs and his left hand ready to defend.A sword appeared in his hand, and he swung it to block Lan Lihua’s strike aimed at his arm. Lan Lihua was pushed back.“Fool! Do you think you can defeat me with your current realm? Don’t be naive!” Wang said coldly, swinging his sword toward Chen Nian’s arm. He would never let his opponent go after disturbing his heart like this. But Chen Nian would not allow things to go his way. A sword that had never before been used in battle appeared in his hand. As soon as the blade emerged, a flash of lightning struck al

Chen Nian was conversing with Fu San, though of course Fu San only wanted to talk because of Lan Lihua, who since her arrival had remained silent. Even though Fu San kept asking and offering various things.“Young Master Fu, it seems the young lady does not wish to speak with anyone right now… if you need something, I can take care of it for you. I am skilled at praising her in front of others!”“A good idea. I would be very pleased if you could help me.” Fu San took out something shaped like a flower with a pleasant, soothing fragrance. “This is a lily, a flower that can make someone feel relaxed when they smell its scent. It also has beneficial effects for skin care.”“I’m sure the young lady will be delighted. She simply isn’t good at showing her feelings in front of others, since she is quiet and rarely makes friends.”“Very well… I will go back now. Tell Young Lady Lihua that I am waiting for her in the carriage. We can eat and drink tea together, and if she wishes to stay the ni

Lan Lihua took a deep breath and slid the door open. Elder Hong Juan was standing there with his aged face, looking at her as if she were guilty.“What is it, Elder Juan? Brother Nian is still cultivating!” said Lan Lihua.Hong Juan did not believe her and stretched his neck to look inside the room. Sure enough, Chen Nian was sitting there with his eyes closed.“Tell him that once he is done, Patriarch Hong is waiting. And tell him again that tonight he must meet the Patriarch. This is an important matter,” Hong Juan conveyed, then turned around and disappeared.Lan Lihua closed the door again and sat near Chen Nian, speaking with a serious expression. “They say Patriarch Hong wants to meet you tonight!”“I will go. He must have planned something. Just follow along and ruin his plan again. Let him know who he’s truly dealing with!”“Are you not being overconfident? Elder Hong Juan has already reached the peak stage of the Sky King realm. Not to mention Patriarch Hong himself, and besi

Chen Nian explained about the poison in the cup earlier, that he himself would have drunk it without neutralizing it if not for the Sky Flame speaking within his mind.Lan Lihua covered her mouth in shock at Chen Nian’s explanation. “I never thought Patriarch Hong Kong, who is so dignified, would do such a thing!”“For some people, there are always black stains in the book of their life. Only some are good at hiding them and some are not, but that too depends on fate and destiny… enough of that, you should rest, I will cultivate first!”Chen Nian stood and walked to the corner, then sat down again and began to sink into cultivation. Meanwhile, Lan Lihua’s body language showed unease. How could she not be, now she was too occupied with the thought of being alone with a man.—A little red sparrow slipped through a gap just the size of its body, penetrating the seal formation that locked the treasure chamber. She maneuvered inside the vast treasury hall, then transformed into a stunning

Hong Kong stared at the figure who had come, truly young and without any aura that could be felt. But this was precisely what made him very curious.‘How could someone like this possibly forge a level five weapon?’ There was no belief in Hong Kong’s heart, because if one looked at history, there had never been a single youth who became a weapon master, let alone a Grandmaster. But if this were truly the case, then he had discovered something great, and the greatness of the Hong Clan would resound beyond the Sky Continent.“Are you the one who forged the level five weapon previously?” Hong Kong asked impatiently.“Is this how a respected man greets a guest he has invited?” Chen Nian replied.Hong Kong furrowed his brows, Hong Juan had already drawn half his sword, but was stopped by Hong Kong’s wave of the hand.“Forgive me for forgetting how to welcome a guest, please sit, young grandmaster!” Never had anyone in Dong City been given such honor by Hong Kong. For he was not one who knew
