Unknown to Clarissa, the gift she called trash were actually the top notch, best of best, out of this world, items that money could buy.

It's difficult to believe the fact that a billionaire will leave the life of luxury, and then decide to settle in the slums. What kind of a life will that be? But Clyde did it.. he chose this life for a reason.

Clyde had gotten a gold card with black diamond engraved on it, this card was only for the wealthiest in the Zizou Empire. This gold card had no spending limits and could contain billions of trium (the currency of the Zizou Empire.

One Trium is equivalent to One dollar. In the modern world, Clyde will be one of the richest men there is.

Another gift he had prepared was the state of the art smart-wristband, which after facial recognition will allow Clarissa the access to learn about his real identity as the lord of the Zizou Empire's military forces.

Clyde's identity was known only to a few. Even in the military, only a handful of military personnel knew about him.

However due to Clarissa being used to the wealthy and influential life of the rich, she had always been close to everything she ever wanted; Wealth, power, fame, glory, now throws all these state of the art gifts away without actually knowing what she had done.

Her actions were understandable as no woman would want to live a life of misery, but to leave her husband, barely after their wedding is something that can never be reconciled with.

Clarissa had seen so much wealth and she couldn't even consider living in this poor state.

Due to the fact she believed Clyde was church-rat poor, she felt there was nothing he could offer her.. what can a slum dweller give to a rich lady like me? What can we build with an annual salary of two thousand, six hundred trium (∆2,600)?

How foolish her assumptions were, and how even more foolish she will feel when she finally learns the truth. How regretful she would feel when she finds out that Clyde's true net worth was around eight hundred to one trillion trium.

*************

As Clarissa sat in the cab which was conveying her back to her family house, she took out her phone and dialed a number. She had plans to call her best friend; Rachael Ventura.

“Clarissa honey, how are you doing?” a female voice sounded from the phone.

“Rachael, I requested for a divorce from him.” Clarissa said without responding to the greeting of her friend.

“Splendid! I always knew you had it in you.. I kept wondering what attracted you to that dead weight.” The female, Rachael spoke in an excited tone as if the divorce was the greatest news she had ever heard in her life.

Rachael was a divorcee. She had left her husband after he failed to buy her a BMW X7 and a Louis Vuitton bag. She felt it's best she stays alone rather than being married to a man that couldn't provide all she wanted.

“I will be home soon. Can you come over?” Clarissa replied. Although she sounded satisfied, she had a somber expression on her face. She didn't like what she did, but she had no choice as most of her decisions were influenced by her best friend Rachael.

“Sure thing darling. I'd be there in a jiffy.. just have to ditch Sam here.” Rachael replied with a giggle.

Clarissa knew who Sam was.. he was Rachael's boy toy.

“Okay, I will be waiting for you then.” Clarissa then cut the connection.

***********

Meanwhile Clyde scanned his facial features and opened the wristband, he received wedding anniversary wishes from the Generals and important members of the Zizou Empire's military forces.

Only those who knew about the famous god of war sent their messages.. and also from the Royal family.

'Happy Wedding anniversary young master’

'Wishing the young lord a happy one year anniversary’

'I hope you enjoyed your marriage, young master.

Happy wedding anniversary’

'Happy Wedding anniversary my little boy, I can't wait to see the girl that captured the heart of my little Clyde. Love Mother.'

'Happy Wedding anniversary son. Do good to return as soon as possible tomorrow. Your father.'

Just as Clyde was reading through the messages, he received a call from his personal assistant.

“Good day Sir. How's the wifey doing? Tomorrow's the big day Sir, I have already planned it all. I will be bringing in exotic gifts and the latest cosmetics for our young wife, and also the latest fashion designer would be there to take her measurements for a custom made gown, don't worry though, I have already bought gowns from Hermes, and also from Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci..”

the PA kept on rambling the gifts which had been prepared, bought and brought by the Generals and other important members of the Zizou Empire's military forces, friends, and as well as the Royal family.

These super expensive gifts were to be presented to Clarissa the next day as the wedding anniversary gifts. Sadly the one in question was already a mile away from Clyde and had unknowingly shoved their goodwill up their asses.

Clyde had to rub his forehead repeated to calm the migraine that was beginning to build up. He knew he had to stop them before it blew out of proportion.

“Dani.. Clarissa requested for a divorce.” Clyde said in a low voice. There was silence which lasted for about a full minute.. then the PA burst out.

“What!? Why!? How!? When!?”

“To answer your first question; Yes she did.. Why!?

“Because she believes I am a good for nothing who would die a wretched pauper and she did not want to go down that path with me.”

“How!? She made a bit of a scene and demanded for a divorce before leaving in a cab, I believe she would be at her home by now. As for when!? Just about an hour ago.”

There was pin drop silence. Clyde knew exactly what was going through his assistant's mind. He knew she would be fuming mad. Danielle Fandango had been Clyde's personal assistant and adjutant for a while now and she loved working with him.

She couldn't comprehend why Clarissa would leave a wonderful man because of a lack of material things.

Heck! Young lord Clyde Darkfang of the Darkfang Royal family was fully loaded with wealth. The materialistic bitch doesn't deserve to be with her young lord. She will definitely give Clarissa a piece of her mind.. more than a piece.

“Don't beat yourself up about it young lord. She's not worth your time.” Danielle said in a soothing voice, but her face was covered with a murderous frown.

If Clyde was around her at that moment, he would detect a massive amount of killing intent oozing out from his personal assistant.

Sigh!

“Shall I pass this news to the upper echelons?” She said in the same soothing voice.

“Do as you see fit Dani. I wish to be left alone for a while.” Clyde said in a defeated tone laced with pain.

He had hoped to have finally found that true love which his mother had always told him about in stories, he just didn't expect his fantasy to be harshly broken to pieces.

“Yes Boss.” Danielle said and then cut the connection. She went to work and began to pass on the divorce news to everyone who was in the know.

The clearing stood in stunned silence as the night wind stirred the pine needles and whistled between the barrels of drawn rifles. The woman named Valeria stepped forward, her boots crunching softly against the gravel of the compound path. Her coat fluttered behind her like the wings of some dark omen. Her expression was calm, surgical—eyes like steel, calculating everything and giving nothing away.Derick stepped to the forefront, his weapon unwavering. “Last chance. Identify your purpose or turn around. This isn’t a diplomatic mission.”Valeria’s lip curved ever so slightly. “Relax, Commander. If I wanted war, your perimeter would already be ash. I came to speak. Preferably before the next decision you make costs you your command.”Danielle emerged from the shadows of the main building, her steps brisk, gaze locked onto Valeria. She stood beside Derick, not out of allegiance—but necessity.“Valeria,” Danielle said, her voice low, laced with bitter recognition. “I thought you were a

Every step forward was another yard between her and the charred remains of Seth’s crumbling empire. But the escape wasn’t complete—not yet. She needed extraction. She crouched by a moss-covered rock, pulling the radio she’d taken from the fallen guard. She turned the frequency dial, hoping someone, anyone, was listening. Static at first.
