Zizou Empire was an empire known for its military strength. Their weapons were always the state of the art, and their training exercises were so excruciating that the death counts during training was always higher than that of an actual war. This made Zizou Empire the number one Empire in the continent. And the capital of this amazing empire was; Gold city.

Far away from Gold city, an angry female’s voice could be heard coming from a small house. A couple lived here and day to day, the wife will always make a few snide remarks at the man, today seemed a bit different, as it seemed that instead of the casual remarks, she was going all out.

“Clyde! I'm deadbeat tired of all these!? I can't keep living like this! It's frustrating, you hear!?” the lady's high pitch voice could be heard. Clarissa Davidson. She's fair, slender, long black hair, It will be a shame if all these beauty goes to waste in this slum.”

Clarissa used to be an upstate girl. She had come from a well to do family, and although her family were not poor, they were not rich either, one can say they were actually in the middle. She fell in love with Clyde and believed him when he said he will make her live the life of a Queen in no time. yet here she was at the slums, living the life that was reserved only to the poor.

“Clarissa, please try to understand, it will be alright soon.” the man spoke in a gentle manner as he tried to calm his raging wife. He was a head taller than his wife, a muscular build, squared jaw and had this faint military air around him.

“No! I want a divorce, and I want it now!” Clarissa shouted as she pointed a finger in anger at the young man she was married to for the past one year.

“Clarissa!..” the man was a bit shocked but he still to amend the situation which was spiraling out of control.

“Don't you Clarissa me, young man!” Clarissa said with a sneer. She had definitely had enough of this charlatan in front of her. It was time to get back on the path to making wealth. She still couldn't believe she fell for him and let him convince her to live in this disgusting place.

Clyde was shocked beyond belief. Sure their living conditions now wasn't the best conditions, but he believed, in fact he knew things will change for the better, sooner than she thought. Clarissa used to tell him the same, but now she wants a divorce, why couldn't she just wait for a little while longer.

“Clyde, I'm not happy at all. We are broke now? Your salary isn't even enough to pay the rent, I can't put up with this anymore!” she shouted while pointing at him.

It was evident on her angry face that she won't settle for anything less than a divorce, and there was nothing anyone was gonna say that would change her already made up mind.

Clyde knew his situation, if he can calm her and make her see reasons, then perhaps he can still salvage the marriage. And if she calms and stop throwing a tantrum, then and only then would she witness the surprise he had in store for her.

The next day was to be their wedding anniversary, and he had prepared a mega surprise that will leave her utterly shocked. If only he could tell her now, but rules were rules, and he chose this life for a reason.

“Clarissa please wait till tomorrow..” Clyde pleaded with his wife. He had hoped she can wait till tomorrow.

“Tomorrow, next week, next year, what difference does it make!?” she said in a loud voice as she clutched a bag which she had already packed her clothes in. She then turned to him.

“I'm leaving Clyde. Let's face it, nothing good is ever going to come out from you, and I don't want to live the rest of my life in regrets just because I love you and I'm married to you. I can't put up with this shitty life anymore.”

she said and made for the door but Clyde held her hand and looked at her with pleading eyes. He was utterly crushed by her words, but he still held hopes that she will see reasons and stay for just one more day.

“Clarissa please, I beg of you, please don't go. Tomorrow is our anniversary, I have prepared something for you. I guarantee you'd be surprised. Trust me on this one love, it is the kind of surprise you've been waiting for.”

Clyde continued to plead, too bad Clarissa had already made up her mind as she believes Clyde was a real slum dweller.. if the slum dwellers ever had a separate hierarchy, then surely Clyde will be at the bottom of such hierarchy.

To make it worse, his weekly salary was only at fifty trium (∆50 is equivalent to fifty dollars of the modern world). Fifty trium! what kind of a life can they build with that?

“Surprise? Of course I will be surprised? You know why? Because you might cobble up a few trash and bring it forth as a gift!” Clarissa said in an angry tone. She went out while Clyde followed her pleading.

“Clyde Tresslar! If you don't get your stinking hands off me, I will make sure to tell everyone here how trashy you are!” Clarissa said in a loud voice which was heard from those witnessing the scene. Clyde had never been this embarrassed before in his life. He stood rooted in shock as he watched Clarrisa getting into a cab and finally driving off.

The clearing stood in stunned silence as the night wind stirred the pine needles and whistled between the barrels of drawn rifles. The woman named Valeria stepped forward, her boots crunching softly against the gravel of the compound path. Her coat fluttered behind her like the wings of some dark omen. Her expression was calm, surgical—eyes like steel, calculating everything and giving nothing away.Derick stepped to the forefront, his weapon unwavering. “Last chance. Identify your purpose or turn around. This isn’t a diplomatic mission.”Valeria’s lip curved ever so slightly. “Relax, Commander. If I wanted war, your perimeter would already be ash. I came to speak. Preferably before the next decision you make costs you your command.”Danielle emerged from the shadows of the main building, her steps brisk, gaze locked onto Valeria. She stood beside Derick, not out of allegiance—but necessity.“Valeria,” Danielle said, her voice low, laced with bitter recognition. “I thought you were a

Every step forward was another yard between her and the charred remains of Seth’s crumbling empire. But the escape wasn’t complete—not yet. She needed extraction. She crouched by a moss-covered rock, pulling the radio she’d taken from the fallen guard. She turned the frequency dial, hoping someone, anyone, was listening. Static at first. Then a crackle.“repeat, team alpha has arrived. Targets neutralized. No visuals on the asset.”Danielle pressed the button. “This is Danielle. I'm in the woods southeast of the compound. Heading toward creekside. Respond.”A tense pause. Then, “Danielle! Thank God. This is Derick. Hold your position. I’m sending two men to get you. Do not engage. Do you copy?”“Copy that. Just hurry
