CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED & SIXTY-ONE

The tension in the room was heightened as everyone could feel shivers down their spines, all except for Adam whose face was devoid of any emotion; stoic as always,

The girls were trembling and shivering while mumbling to themselves, Leila had already begun to cry, her shriek filling the somewhat silent room,

“I just want my papa to be fine, I-I don't mind coming with you,” she sobbed loudly as she sniffed.

Adam tilted his head just to look at her and his heart broke at the sight of her, immediately he began to think of what his next plan would be, to save them from these men's clutches.

Joan, who was still under her father’s bed, screamed out for reinforcements and asked for more men to be delivered. She quickly reached for her phone in her side pocket and dialled Sergeant Dickson,

“Send in your best men!”

She roared at him at him without any preamble,

“I can’t afford to die now,” she sniffled as she spoke this time, with a softer tone, everyone could sense the fear in her shaky voi
