CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED & SIXTY-SIX

Back in the basement, Adam came back to the cell room and joined the girls Leila quickly sat up at his arrival and asked if he was okay,

“I'm fine,”

Was all he said, in a swift move he sat down beside her, resting his head against the wall.

Joan was fast asleep and her arm was swollen from the incident with the bumpy-headed man.

There was a long silence in the room as all Adam did was stare at the ceiling. Adam decided to break the silence and so he finally asked,

“What do these people really want from you and your family?”

Leila sighed and sat up properly before clearing her throat but didn’t know the right words to use, it was hard to string words together.

“My father told us that it is as a result of a mistake he made growing up as a young man. And he is bent on getting revenge by killing me and my sister. He has been trying since we were little girls and Papa always protected us till he fell ill. Our lives have been endangered since then and now
