At King’s Castle.

With a release of aura, Ingrid chased away the sea gulls from approaching the castle. “These birds are quite persistent. They come here every night, for food and seeking shelter, but the castle isn’t made for birds. They should know that. If they test my patience again and again, I’ll end up killing all of them.”

A royal knight walked over and gave him a paper note. “Green Fang sent this.”

“Addressed to the king?” Ingrid frowned. Because Denver’s signature was on it, Ingrid was forced to take the letter to the king.

Casil was in his room, resting on the bed, but his aura was automatically playing the piano in his room, inducing him to sleep better.

Ingrid hesitantly knocked on the door.

The letter in Ingrid’s hands vanished.

Ingrid was surprised. “He teleported it inside, huh. I didn’t even see it happen.” Smiling to himself, he walked away. “I still have a long way to go to reach His Majesty’s level.”

Inside the room, the letter opened while floating in the air.

Back to the present.Nicole was remembering what she had done in recent years. “I managed to wring myself out of the shit. I’m in a much better headspace right now than I was before, but…”Nicole was decently satisfied with her life as the owner of Boomers Bar.However, there was one thing she felt that he was lacking. She did not have any friends.Nobody worthy invited her to join any group, and those who did were only trying to use her strength more than anything else. But after Sheryl invited her, Nicole’s heart was beating differently. If it was any other person who invited her, she wouldn’t hav

Nicole threw the ax almost as a physical response. She didn’t really want to kill Denver, but still her throw was perfect. The ax’s edge came straight for Denver’s neck.Denver moved back a step as fast as he could, and the aura covering the ax’s edge scraped the edge of his neck. The ax went on to strike the tree behind Denver and cleaved it in one go.The giant tree flew into the air for a second.“Watch out!” Nicole shouted.Denver didn’t move an inch or flinch. The tree crashed right next to him and was rolling toward him. He lifted his foot and stopped the tree’s momentum.“That was a good throw,” Denver said. “If I had moved too much to the front or the back, my neck would have been split.”“I-I didn’t mean to kill you,” Nicole said, but she felt like he wouldn’t believe her words. In fact, she wouldn’t believe her own words if she was in Denver’s shoes.“You mean to tell me you threw the ax so hard unintentionally?” Denver seemed disappointed. “That’s pretty poor of you.”Nico

After Sheryl left, Nicole exhaled audibly and sat down. She did not have many memories of Denver, but one memory particularly stuck with her. There was a time when Denver killed a mafia don who shook three southern countries for over two decades.Denver did that to free the countries from the don’s grip, but that wasn’t part of his mission. What he did ended up bringing both positive and negative results. The council decided to imprison him for an entire year. However, Casil overthrew their decision and gave a different punishment to Denver. It was to cut ten thousand trees without using aura.Natalia put Denver in chains and gave him an old, rusty ax, which made it all the more difficult for him to cut the trees.Denver was taken to the Prisoner Archipelago, a cluster of islands known for its humongous trees. This was where most of the criminals from secret organizations were sent for a short time or even for a lifetime.Nicole just happened to receive a mission that required her to

“Fuck off,” Nicole replied with coldness.Nerd frowned visibly. “Would you have said yes if I wasn’t fat?”“...Not really,” she replied without looking at him.Nerd felt a little better after hearing that. “If you wish…” he lowered his voice, “we can escape this damned organization together.”“Find someone else to fuck around with,” Nicole retorted.“Tsk, if you weren’t strong, I would have forcefully taken you,” Nerd laughed and gulped down on a mug of beer.Nicole was the 21st ranker, but she did care about the rankers festival as she had long given up on fighting for ranks. She only finished enough missions to keep her rank in the top 30 as she received benefits and privileges that came if you’re within the top 100 ranks. Many years back, Nicole received a mission from the council. It was to deliver a sealed box to the watchtower that was at the eastern shore in Hawk Park.It was an easy mission, so Nicole took that mission and reached the watch tower in the middle of the night.A

Sheryl was looking at the leaderboard.“I’m on the fifth spot now,” Sheryl’s gaze was on those who were occupying the ranks from sixth to the tenth.Serena was in the sixth, and Catherine was in the seventh spot, so she ignored them both. She noted down the names of those occupying the eighth, ninth, and the tenth spots.“You go after the one in the tenth spot,” Sheryl told Sakura.“Jaffer Bones…” Sakura recognized him by his name. “He worked under multiple rankers like Borg, Durk, and even under Tyron for a while. He’s not going to be easy to beat. Who will take care of these seeds if I’m gone?”Sheryl created a clone. “My clone will be here. She will send a distress signal if an enemy attacks the seeds.”“Is it really necessary to go after these people now?” Sakura frowned. “Our boss is in the first rank, isn’t he? If you and Catherine give your feathers to him, it will solidify his first place.”“What if he loses his feather?” Sheryl asked.“T-That’s not possible,” Sakura quickly s

“Deserving? Only the strongest deserves the throne,” Mickey stated, sending three shockwaves with one swing of the arm. “It’s that simple.”Philip created a water barrier before him almost immediately and nullified the attack.Denver’s lighting also dismantled Mickey’s attack.Lily swung the Nightlaser and cut through the shockwave.“All four of them are deserving,” Drake muttered under his breath. He no longer wanted to fight Novick. And Novick was also more interested in watching how things proceeded for the time being, though he wished that Mickey would win in the end.“Philip! Denver!” Natalia shouted. “Both of you should fight with Lily and help her defeat Mickey!”“And why would I do that?” Philip asked.“You would gladly help her if you knew what Mickey did,” Natalia blurted. “Being the head of the data hall, you were sleeping while Mickey was killing the council members! So, you deserve the blame, too!”Philip’s expression froze for a second. All the past incidents flashed thr
