Alice Brown picked up her Gucci bag and walked majestically into her son in-law 's mansion

She smiled satisfactorily at the fact that Maya made her proud eventually.

Not that she blamed her innocent damsel for her mere mistake

She would rather hate the wretched Spence for seducing her daughter with his  good looks.

In her younger days,Alice chose to marry Mr Brown for his money despite her undying love for Peter.

She was glad she followed her logical reasoning than her silly heart.

Who knew what countryside she would be rotten in as a farmer's wife. The thought of it irks her.

The butler rushed out to ursher her into the house much to her delight.

Maya waited for her  mother at the door

They hugged each other lovingly and Alice kept blabbing about one thousand reasons why being the fiancee of the CEO of Golden Fingers supercedes her tittle of being a wife to a nameless goodlooking leach.

Maya couldn't be more proud of herself as her mother showered her with praises

The Grey mansion is truly a beauty to behold, it's walls were decorated with shimmering interior ,the Italian Chandelier stood out exceptionally.

Alice felt so pleased at her daughter's new found fortune

"This place fits in with your beauty" Alice said proudly

Maya smiled pleasantly, glad to finally get complimented by her picky mother

" I figured out too mum" Maya said smiling happily

" I didn't waste my youthfulness in poverty you see,I dated cheobal heirs.

But I remembered falling blindly for a farmer's son" Alice confessed rolling her eyes

" Really mother! You were in my shoes once" Maya said surprised

" Indeed I was,but I was slapped back to my senses when reality of my parent's demise hit me.

I met your father and got married to him" Alice said proudly

"Wow!" was the only thing Maya could say

" We need to talk daughter " Alice said to Maya eyeing the butler for his insensitivity

Maya took the clue immediately and gestured towards the butler to excuse himself.

He bowed slightly and walked out leaving them to their privacy

" What is the plan daughter?" Alice asked her countenance portraying mischief

" To birth the heir and make sure his properties ends up as mine" Maya said instantly going with her mother's flow.

" Not bad, are you sure it is his?" Alice asked gesturing towards her flat stomach

" It is,I made sure of it" Maya said smiling

" Good girl" Alice said proudly making Maya blush

" I need a favor from you mother "Maya asked using her most distressed tone

" Don't use that on me young lady, save it for your fiance, I was the queen of emotional blackmail" Alice said smiling

"I need you to connect me to the heir of Zillow Jade " Maya said sharply

Alice was lost in thought for quite sometime considering her daughter's request giving Maya a cold feet

" My pretty face is not enough to keep him interested for long" Maya pleaded desperately

" Hmmm true!" Alice said considering her daughter's stance

She remembered going extra miles to keep Mr Robbin Brown her husband's company afloat before his demise

After his demise, she inherited it keeping her well connected and owning some real estates that she invested in before the company went down the drain.

" Zillow Jade isn't my turf Maya, I barely know anything about the company but I will try to see if the tentacles of my connections can be extended to it" Alice said reassuringly

Maya nodded in understanding

" Please call in our lunch, I am famished" Alice said

Maya made a call to the kitchen section and within few minutes several mouth watery delicacies were served

Alice didn't waste any time in dishing herself every appetizing food on the plate.

" Did you hear anything about that loser?" Alice asked rolling her eyes

" Nothing at all, I guess he is sulking somewhere as he kept a low profile since" Maya responded

" Not that you need to bother, he was just your past mistake " Alice said reassuringly

Maya looked up at her mother, she remembered how Alice smacked her across the face the day she secretly registered her marriage to Spence

She did loved Spence at a time or maybe she still do.

Spence had always treated her as his queen unlike Leonard who has hit her twice already

She couldn't bring herself to open up that part to anyone, not even her mother Alice

She knew she deserves all the hate she was getting from Golden Fingers workers

She knew she wouldn't last long with Leonard but she wishes to climb higher.

She was more interested in trying out her luck with Ryan Hale if she could discarding the ill tempered Leonard.

A vivid childhood memory flooded her mind as she watched Alice murder her father

" Why did you kill him?" Maya asked out of the blue catching Alice off guard making her spill the expensive red wine she was drinking.

" Excuse me! What do you mean girl?" Alice said unsure

" I knew you killed dad,I saw you mum" Maya dropped the bombshell waiting and watching Alice's reaction.

Alice was silent for a while gathering together her thought.

She changed her posture to decipate pity

" I did it to ease his passing, he was in pain I couldn't bear" Alice responded convincingly

Alice brought out her handkerchief wiping off her crocodile tears

Maya wasn't fooled, she knew her mother already had several concubines since her father became bedridden.

She got rid of him to protect her freedom.

" I am so sorry daughter" Alice cried on but Maya stayed glued to her seat obviously not patronizing her trash

" I will kill Leonard Grey soon mother" Maya said boldly.

Unknown to the duo, a video recorder embedded in the chandelier picked up all their secret conversation.
