Chapter 22: Daring

“I and Fred have decided to keep my identity in check until I find out who truly murdered my father and injured my mother,” Derek muttered.

Sophia regarded him for a moment, “Are you sure this is alright?”

“I’m very sure, Sophia. My father was killed even though he had so much power at his fingertip. I’m not going to be like him. I’m not going to die. I’m going to find the murderer and make sure he faces the same fate as my father. Till then, I will run everything underneath.”

Sophia nodded once. “Alright boss. I have all your cards with me, and the document of all the companies you own. It’s in the car as we speak. When do you want to have them?”

Derek didn’t respond immediately as he stared ahead at Amelia coming towards him. There was this angry look on her face. “I will talk to you later, Sophia. My wife is on the way,” he explained and moved towards Amelia as well.

Sophia looked at Amelia and shook her head briefly. “She doesn’t even deserve you.”

“Amelia, how-,” Derek started bu
