"What?" Linda was stunned. She turned to Nicklaus and asked, "You know what you're rejecting, don't you?"

"Yes, I do, and I'm not interested. I didn't help treat your grandfather to receive a favor from you, sir. The business you're offering has many problems—you're not doing me a favor but yourself. Once it's back on track, I'd be cast aside," Nicklaus said, causing the old man to look down thoughtfully.

"You're a smart young man, son," the old man said, attempting to stand.

Old Man Fin had never planned on being so generous; he wanted the company restored to profitability, and as Nicklaus had correctly identified, Nicklaus would be doing him the favor.

"Son, would you consider taking my name?" the old man asked.

"No," Nicklaus said firmly.

"It would be your middle name, and you could pass it to one of your sons so all your concerns would be addressed," the old man explained.

"Everything would be documented legally. You'd be in charge of the hospital and medical aspects of my properties," he added.

Nicklaus paused momentarily, considering the offer. "I need time to think this through," he finally said, and the old man nodded.

"I should go now," Nicklaus said, turning to leave, but the old man stopped him.

"Very well, son. I'll wait for your response," the old man said before Nicklaus departed.

When Nicklaus arrived at the hospital, he saw his sister being wheeled out in a wheelchair.

"I'm sure your brother is behind bars now for whatever he's done. You have no reason to be here—this place isn't a charity," Gabriel declared.

Nicklaus was stunned, thinking everything had been resolved.

He spotted Stella beside Gabriel. She wasn't trying to stop him; instead, she was patting Rita on the head mockingly.

"What are you doing? What's happening here?" Nicklaus demanded, shocked and unprepared for this scene.

"What does it look like? You're lucky you didn't get arrested," Stella said, placing her hand on her hip.

"Stella, what do you mean? Why are you acting this way? This is the last behavior I'd expect from you," Nicklaus said, but Stella narrowed her eyes.

"You'd better believe it," she replied.

Nicklaus shook his head in disbelief. As if cheating wasn't enough, now she was humiliating him publicly—this was the final straw.

"You know what? I think I've tolerated your behavior long enough," he said, walking over to where his sister sat. She was so weak she could barely stand.

He placed his hands on the wheelchair's handles and began rolling her away from the hospital. With no money for a taxi, they'd have to walk.

"Wait, wait! What do you think you're doing? Did you buy that wheelchair? Come on, carry your sister and leave the wheelchair behind," Stella said angrily. Gabriel stood with his arms crossed, watching her berate Nicklaus.

Nicklaus was quiet for a moment, unsure what to do. Stella had betrayed him before his very eyes, and everything still felt like a nightmare.

Nicklaus swallowed hard and rolled up his sleeves.

"I can walk, brother. You don't need to carry me," Rita said weakly.

Nicklaus didn't respond. He simply lifted her—she was light because she'd barely eaten properly in weeks.

"Wait, are you leaving just like that? I hope you're not planning to go to my house," Stella said with a frown.

Nicklaus paused and raised his eyebrows. "What do you mean?" he asked, frowning, but Stella just laughed and narrowed her eyes.

Suddenly, a car pulled up where they were standing outside the building, and a tall man in a black suit got out.

"Took you long enough," Stella said when she saw the man.

He approached Stella, carrying a stack of white papers.

"Here are the documents you requested, ma'am," he said, handing the papers to Stella.

After reviewing the papers briefly, she stepped forward with a cruel smile and handed them to Nicklaus.

"What is this?" Nicklaus asked, taking the papers.

"Why don't you see for yourself," she said curtly.

As Nicklaus flipped to the first page, his eyes fell on the words: "Divorce Agreement."

"Divorce?" he asked, and she nodded, slowly removing her wedding ring.

"This cheap ring you gave me—I'm always embarrassed to wear it, especially around my friends," she said, throwing it at Nicklaus.

Nicklaus looked down at the ring. This was the ring his mother had worn before she died—it was the only valuable thing she'd owned.

He picked it up from the ground and brushed off the dust that had collected when it fell. He put it carefully in his pocket.

He looked at Stella one final time and said, "I need a pen."

Stella scoffed in disbelief. "You ungrateful bastard! After everything I've done for you, you won't even beg me not to divorce you?"

Nicklaus responded with silence.

"You know what? I don't think you deserve anything from me. I was planning to give you some money as divorce compensation, but you're not worth it," she added, expecting Nicklaus to plead with her, but he didn't.

"May I have a pen?" he asked again. The lawyer handed him one, and without hesitation, Nicklaus signed the papers.

Nicklaus opened his mouth to speak but instantly paused, thinking that this might bring shame to his family name. Mentioning his father's name over such a trivial matter seemed beneath his dignity."You don't deserve to know," Nicklaus said, causing the police officer to growl in anger before clenching his fist and throwing a punch at Nicklaus's face."You don't know what's good for you," the police officer barked.Nicklaus bit the corner of his lip and chuckled dryly before lifting his head to look at the officer. "I'll remember this assault and make sure you regret it."His words infuriated the officer even more, and he grabbed Nicklaus's collar and said angrily, "You have the nerve to speak disrespectfully? Don't worry, I'll break your spirit in this room and teach you how to beg for mercy."He punched Nicklaus's face again, so hard that Nicklaus could taste blood in his mouth."Look at you! Your body's so weak. What kind of petty thief are you?" The officer said, pushing Nicklaus

"You're more foolish than I thought. I wonder what lie you'll tell the police when they get here," Stella said after Gabriel ended his call with the police."You know, it's all your fault! No one would have involved the police if you had let us go without insisting we compensate you," Gabriel said, trying to provoke Nicklaus."Look how he's dressed in that torn shirt, riding in an expensive Lincoln. You're dressed like the beggar you are," Stella spat."What did they used to call you again... Oh yes! Nicklaus the loser. You should be living in a dumpster," Gabriel added, expressing his contempt.Nicklaus bit his lip, trying to control his anger, but he was reaching his limit. Just as he was about to react, police sirens caught their attention."It's time for you to face judgment, Nicklaus," Stella said smugly."Let's see who faces judgment," Nicklaus responded calmly."Thank goodness you're here, officer. That's the criminal right there—deal with him," Gabriel said, pointing to Nickla

Rita wasn't discharged that day. The hospital couldn't stop talking about Nicklaus. Chris and Nicklaus drove back to the villa in the Lincoln limousine when suddenly, Nicklaus remembered that today was Derek's birthday—his only friend from college."Damn, I almost forgot I have somewhere important to be.""Where is that?" Chris asked."A friend of mine is having a birthday party," Nicklaus informed him, causing Chris to nod."Young Master, could I get your phone number so I can call you if needed?" Chris asked, but Nicklaus had to share disappointing news."I don't have a phone," he informed him. Chris was stunned but immediately composed his expression."Actually, the iPhone company created a new model, and since our conglomerate bought a significant share with them, they gifted us some of their latest products," Chris informed him, causing Nicklaus to nod.The iPhone company was just one of many companies that Chris had bought shares in over the years using the conglomerate's name.

"I'm sorry, sir. I didn't know that bothered you," Chris said."You keep saying different things, and I don't even know anything about him," Nicklaus said while Chris bowed his head to apologize again."It's just funny how I thought my father was transparent. I thought it would be easy to see through him, but unfortunately, I was wrong," Nicklaus said.He was completely serious, and Chris could tell that Nicklaus still resented the fact that his father hadn't told him about this secret life.It was hard for Nicklaus to forget—he tried to push aside the fact that he'd been humiliated by people he was actually superior to. He had worked day and night, yet each paycheck was cut short while his father owned multimillion-dollar companies somewhere."You're all the same," Nicklaus said, quickening his pace before walking out. Chris didn't follow him. Instead, he decided to let him leave, believing he'd return, especially since his sister was still at the hospital.Nicklaus had no money for

The call was loud enough for Nicklaus to hear what the other person said."What's wrong?" Nicklaus asked with a frown."I think there's something wrong at the hospital," Nicklaus said, standing up while Chris did the same."Did they specify the kind of emergency?" Nicklaus inquired, but Chris shook his head."No, they didn't," Chris muttered as they exited the building and walked to the parking lot. Nicklaus hurried out of the car. They rushed to the emergency room and noticed doctors rushing in and out of the room.Chris turned to look at Nicklaus, and their eyes met. "Is this the car here to pick us up?" Nicklaus asked."Yes, sir," Chris replied, causing Nicklaus's eyes to widen in shock. The cost of a Lincoln limousine was astronomical—Nicklaus was certain that even if he worked day and night for the rest of his life, he wouldn't be able to save enough money for such a vehicle."You don't like it, sir? I can have the driver change it to something you're more comfortable with," Chris offered, causing Nicklaus to chuckle softly. He was stunned—this was his first time getting this close to such an expensive car.He got into the vehicle and was immediately awed by the luxurious interior. Chris entered as well, maintaining a serious expression while reviewing his iPad.Nicklaus was certain everything on the iPad was work-related, as Chris didn't seem like the social type."Please, sir, you should review all these documents," Chris said, picking up a white file beside him.As Nicklaus took the file, he kept his eyes fixed on it.
