"You're more foolish than I thought. I wonder what lie you'll tell the police when they get here," Stella said after Gabriel ended his call with the police.

"You know, it's all your fault! No one would have involved the police if you had let us go without insisting we compensate you," Gabriel said, trying to provoke Nicklaus.

"Look how he's dressed in that torn shirt, riding in an expensive Lincoln. You're dressed like the beggar you are," Stella spat.

"What did they used to call you again... Oh yes! Nicklaus the loser. You should be living in a dumpster," Gabriel added, expressing his contempt.

Nicklaus bit his lip, trying to control his anger, but he was reaching his limit. Just as he was about to react, police sirens caught their attention.

"It's time for you to face judgment, Nicklaus," Stella said smugly.

"Let's see who faces judgment," Nicklaus responded calmly.

"Thank goodness you're here, officer. That's the criminal right there—deal with him," Gabriel said, pointing to Nicklaus in the car.

"He's a loser and a thief. He stole the car and couldn't even drive properly while trying to park. Our cars collided, and his car got scratched. It was his fault—he's an inexperienced driver," Gabriel said, blaming the entire incident on Nicklaus.

"Now he's demanding compensation—for a car he stole!" he added.

The police officer looked at Nicklaus and said, "You're suspected of car theft and property damage. You need to come with me to the station."

Nicklaus narrowed his eyes and said angrily, "This is ridiculous! An accusation of car theft?" He paused and pointed at Gabriel.

"Don't tell me you believe his story. He's trying to cover up the incident with cheap lies and false accusations. He must compensate me for damaging my car, Gabriel," Nicklaus said sternly, emphasizing every word with confidence.

"Stop lying, Nicklaus. If the car is yours, then prove it, or I'll make sure you spend years in jail," Gabriel said, causing Nicklaus to chuckle softly.

"What if I can prove that I own it?" Nicklaus asked with a smirk.

"If you can prove you own this car, I'll lick it clean," Gabriel declared.

As Gabriel spoke, a Bentley pulled up next to the scene. Everyone turned to look as a man in a tuxedo stepped out with a briefcase.

Ignoring everyone else, he walked directly to Nicklaus and said, "Good day, sir. My name is Michael. I'm an insurance adjuster, and the insurance company sent me here."

"Good," Nicklaus said, finally stepping out of his car. He walked to the back where the damage occurred and said, "Here it is."

Michael nodded and walked around both cars, inspecting the scene before reporting, "Sir, both cars collided, and unfortunately, the back of your car was damaged. You were clearly in your lane, so the other party is liable for damages." He paused and began operating his iPad with a stylus.

"Since your car is the limited edition Lincoln, the other party owes one million dollars for repairs, sir," Michael informed them, causing Gabriel's jaw to drop.

"What? I'm not paying that money to this car thief," Gabriel protested.

"Why don't you prove you own this car? Go ahead! Prove it to us!" Gabriel demanded.

"You're a thief, Nicklaus. I've known you all these years, and I never thought you'd stoop to stealing a car and intentionally colliding with Gabriel's to get a million dollars from him," Stella said in disgust, trying to portray themselves as victims.

"Mr. Michael, why don't you prove that your client actually owns the car," Gabriel said, attempting to remain calm.

"I'm sorry, but our client information is confidential," Michael responded.

"No, it's fine, Michael. Why don't I give you my name to check the records?" Nicklaus offered.

"Certainly, sir, if that's your wish," Michael said respectfully.

"Nicklaus Henshaw," Nicklaus said, turning to Gabriel, who looked anxious. He smiled, then looked at Stella, who had placed her hand on her hip, waiting for the adjuster to check the insurance records.

Michael entered the name on his iPad and frowned. "What does it say?" Gabriel asked eagerly, curious about what made the insurance adjuster frown.

"Nicklaus Henshaw?" Michael asked again, seeking confirmation.

"Yes, what's the matter?" Nicklaus asked, trying to stay calm.

"That's not the name the car is registered under," Michael informed them, causing Stella to grin triumphantly.

"You see! You thief! If you think you can fool everyone, think again, Nicklaus. I was right all along. You only wanted the money, you dirty scumbag," Stella seized the opportunity to insult him.

Gabriel couldn't stop laughing mockingly. "Don't mind him, honey. He's a scumbag after all," Gabriel added before turning to the police officer.

"Please take him away. He deserves to rot in jail."

"How pathetic! You thought you could fool us?" Stella spat.

"Don't mind him—he's a loser," Gabriel said.

"You need to come with me to the station," the police officer said, taking out handcuffs.

Nicklaus quickly left a voicemail for Chris before going with the officers.

He was immediately taken to an interrogation room. "Criminal! Start talking!" the officer said angrily, slamming his hand on the desk in front of Nicklaus.

"I don't know what they're talking about. That car belongs to me," Nicklaus said, defending himself.

"Stop lying to us. The insurance adjuster confirmed that your name isn't registered as the owner," the police officer said.

"That's because my father gave the car to me as a gift," Nicklaus insisted, maintaining that he didn't steal the car.

"Who's your father?" the police officer asked, raising his eyebrows.

Nicklaus opened his mouth to speak but instantly paused, thinking that this might bring shame to his family name. Mentioning his father's name over such a trivial matter seemed beneath his dignity."You don't deserve to know," Nicklaus said, causing the police officer to growl in anger before clenching his fist and throwing a punch at Nicklaus's face."You don't know what's good for you," the police officer barked.Nicklaus bit the corner of his lip and chuckled dryly before lifting his head to look at the officer. "I'll remember this assault and make sure you regret it."His words infuriated the officer even more, and he grabbed Nicklaus's collar and said angrily, "You have the nerve to speak disrespectfully? Don't worry, I'll break your spirit in this room and teach you how to beg for mercy."He punched Nicklaus's face again, so hard that Nicklaus could taste blood in his mouth."Look at you! Your body's so weak. What kind of petty thief are you?" The officer said, pushing Nicklaus

Rita wasn't discharged that day. The hospital couldn't stop talking about Nicklaus. Chris and Nicklaus drove back to the villa in the Lincoln limousine when suddenly, Nicklaus remembered that today was Derek's birthday—his only friend from college."Damn, I almost forgot I have somewhere important to be.""Where is that?" Chris asked."A friend of mine is having a birthday party," Nicklaus informed him, causing Chris to nod."Young Master, could I get your phone number so I can call you if needed?" Chris asked, but Nicklaus had to share disappointing news."I don't have a phone," he informed him. Chris was stunned but immediately composed his expression."Actually, the iPhone company created a new model, and since our conglomerate bought a significant share with them, they gifted us some of their latest products," Chris informed him, causing Nicklaus to nod.The iPhone company was just one of many companies that Chris had bought shares in over the years using the conglomerate's name.

"I'm sorry, sir. I didn't know that bothered you," Chris said."You keep saying different things, and I don't even know anything about him," Nicklaus said while Chris bowed his head to apologize again."It's just funny how I thought my father was transparent. I thought it would be easy to see through him, but unfortunately, I was wrong," Nicklaus said.He was completely serious, and Chris could tell that Nicklaus still resented the fact that his father hadn't told him about this secret life.It was hard for Nicklaus to forget—he tried to push aside the fact that he'd been humiliated by people he was actually superior to. He had worked day and night, yet each paycheck was cut short while his father owned multimillion-dollar companies somewhere."You're all the same," Nicklaus said, quickening his pace before walking out. Chris didn't follow him. Instead, he decided to let him leave, believing he'd return, especially since his sister was still at the hospital.Nicklaus had no money for

The call was loud enough for Nicklaus to hear what the other person said."What's wrong?" Nicklaus asked with a frown."I think there's something wrong at the hospital," Nicklaus said, standing up while Chris did the same."Did they specify the kind of emergency?" Nicklaus inquired, but Chris shook his head."No, they didn't," Chris muttered as they exited the building and walked to the parking lot. They got into the car, and Chris drove straight to the hospital. Unlike before, no bodyguards escorted them. The drive was quiet until they reached the hospital. Nicklaus hurried out of the car. They rushed to the emergency room and noticed doctors rushing in and out of the room.Chris turned to look at Nicklaus, and their eyes met. They approached the room and immediately entered. Nicklaus took a face mask from the side of the room."This is getting out of hand," one doctor in the room said."What do you mean?" "Is this the car here to pick us up?" Nicklaus asked."Yes, sir," Chris replied, causing Nicklaus's eyes to widen in shock. The cost of a Lincoln limousine was astronomical—Nicklaus was certain that even if he worked day and night for the rest of his life, he wouldn't be able to save enough money for such a vehicle."You don't like it, sir? I can have the driver change it to something you're more comfortable with," Chris offered, causing Nicklaus to chuckle softly. He was stunned—this was his first time getting this close to such an expensive car.He got into the vehicle and was immediately awed by the luxurious interior. Chris entered as well, maintaining a serious expression while reviewing his iPad.Nicklaus was certain everything on the iPad was work-related, as Chris didn't seem like the social type."Please, sir, you should review all these documents," Chris said, picking up a white file beside him.As Nicklaus took the file, he kept his eyes fixed on it.
