Storm rose up sluggishly from his bed feeling a bit relieved from his earlier headache. He glanced outside the window and noticed it was morning already.

"Can't believe I actually survived that." Storm mused as the encounter with the giant rat began to play in his head over and over again.

He never imagined himself defeating a monster like that since humans are meant to be weak, but somehow it did.

"My wounds.." Strom glanced at his palms where the claws injured but there was nothing. Not even a single scratch, which made him puzzled.

"I had doubts about this system thing earlier..but after what happened, it convinced me that it's actually real. Question is where did it come from?"

Storm gazed at the holographic screen in front of him with his fingers rubbing his chin in contemplation.

"This is almost like the game i play back in those days." Storm mused in contemplation. He had no reason to doubt how authentic the system was after what he went through, so he just proceeded to examine it and figure out how it works fully.

"If it's truly like the game, then levelling up would make me stronger." Storm grinned. He has always been the weak human that all mythical creatures bully, but once he levels up and becomes stronger, he would definitely make them bow.

"Mana points..isn't meant for the creatures who uses elemental abilities and also magic?" Storm contemplated before moving his gaze downwards and caught a glimpse of his two abilities. 

"Hmm..strange. I've never heard of anyone with an electric ability, and it requires mana?" Storm mused with a puzzled expression while examining the screen. "Also, the dash ability also requires mana for use. Creatures who only rely on speed don't need mana to become fast..but once their stamina rubs out their pace reduces. Why then do I need mana, but there is no panel for stamina?"

None of it made sense to Storm, and after pondering for several more minutes he dismissed the thoughts and shifted his gaze to the stats panel.

"30 available points. I don't need anyone to tell me what happens once i place the points in my stats." Storm smirked with his gaze glued on the screen floating in front of him.

"Right now, I need to become stronger to at least fight back my oppressors. Agility won't make me strong, it's more like a defensive stats. Same as reflex."

"Speed still looks handy, but strength is what I need the most. If I can get stronger by increasing my strength, I can take down two Orcs myself."

Coming to conclusion, Storm added his points to his strength stats and felt a refreshing energy surge through his body and his muscles increased slightly.

"I really don't feel any different." Storm lamented as he rose up from the bed and threw out a few punches in the air, but couldn't feel any change in the impact.

"Maybe just 20 points isn't enough." Storm mused while scanning through the screen until he reached the end which stated the daily quests.

"Ah, I totally forgot about this. Daily quest." Storm uttered gleefully as he read through the quests. "10 pushups is a piece of cake..same as sit ups and lifting. Problem is how am I going to run to complete the last quest? Grandpa won't let me leave the house after what happened." 

Strom then got down and swiftly completed the push ups and sit ups. He stood up and lifted his wooden bed off the floor and completed the third quest with ease.

"Just one left..maybe i can complete it here also." Strom mused as he began to run back and forth in his small room until he finally received the last notification.

Storm's eyes widened in shock after reading the notification.

"Hidden reward?" He questioned before clicking on it.

"A weapon, and a full recovery of my mana. Both sound handy."

"If I had a weapon back in the quest venue I wouldn't have been scared the way I was, and defeated those rats with ease. If I want to hunt more monsters and complete more quests in the future to level up, then I will need a decent weapon like this one."

"However, mana recovery sounds more useful. I might find myself in a fight with a much more powerful foe and I might run out of mana during the battle, meaning I wouldn't be able to use any ability. But if I have the mana recovery, I can fill up the mana points in the blink of an eye."

After several minutes of contemplation, Storm finally selected one.

[MANA RECOVERY HAS BEEN CLAIMED]

"I haven't even tested any of the abilities. But that would be later. Now, I shall add my points in strength and see how strong I get."

[STRENGTH + 10] [STRENGTH 40]

Storm wasted no time in placing the points he got from the daily quests in his strength stat. 

"Hmm..Still no cha.." While Strom was busy glancing at his muscles, he began to hear crashing sounds from outside. Confused by the noise, Strom dashed out from the room and arrived in the living room.

"Grandpa!" Storm exclaimed through gritted teeth as he watched a high orc grab Grandpa Sikes's neck and lift him off the floor while strangling him.

"Storm...run!" Grandpa Sikes managed to speak as the high orc kept squeezing the life out of him.
