CHAPTER 286

Russell received a call from Jennifer and heard about James’ suicide attempt, so he canceled his evening program and went home.

Arnold, Jennifer, Viola, James, and even Madison were in the hall. James was resting on a bed laid next to the couch.

Russell saw the bruise on James’ neck and clenched his fist. “Can you guys leave us alone for a minute?”

Nobody argued with Russell. They left the brothers alone.

Russell sat down on the bed. James looked ashamed. He couldn’t even look Russell in the eye.

As someone who had once tried to commit suicide, Russell felt like he didn’t deserve to say anything to James, but at the same time, he felt like saying something to his little brother.

Russell touched James’ hand. “I’m not an expert in love, James, but what I do know is that it’ll be difficult even for experts to tell for sure if someone is loving them or not. So, don’t feel bad for finding out Amelie’s true colors. Instead, you should be happy that you dodged a bullet.”
