Hearing that Blake had been accepted into Foturnity Corp upset Miguel. He still couldn't accept Blake's claim to be Mr. Hover's messenger.

"What? Seriously." Zuri couldn't believe that Blake had a job now. "It's a big, well-known company, right? There's no way a guy who can't do anything like you can get a job."

"Yeah, that's because of me." Miguel smiled proudly at Amora and Zuri, looking in front of them. "I've recommended him to the manager of the company to take him on because he happens to be my cousin."

Miguel took advantage of the situation to boast in front of Amora and Zuri. As well as to avenge his earlier hurt to Blake for humiliating him in front of Mario.

Amora glanced at Miguel with a small smile. "Ah, thank you, for helping me, Miguel."

Amora smiled kindly, feeling happy that Miguel had granted her request. She thought that if Blake had gotten a job, it would at least reduce Zuri's babbling a bit.

"Of course." Miguel lifted his collar proudly. "No problem. I did it all because it was for you. If it wasn't for wanting to help you, this lousy guy wouldn't be able to work at that company."

Blake immediately glanced at Miguel. The man was again being a big shot and boasting about himself in front of Amora in order to get her attention.

"Yes, you were right to ask Miguel for help, Amora. He is indeed a very reliable man. If it weren't for his help, this stupid man wouldn't be able to get a job anywhere because he's useless and can't do anything." Zuri nodded her head while stroking Miguel's arm. "That's why it's better for you to get a divorce from that lousy guy and marry Miguel."

Hearing that made Amora let out a long breath. Again, her mother talked about it, especially this time in front of Miguel, who made her feel uncomfortable.

"Stop it, Mom. This is not the time to talk about that." Amora folded her hands together with an annoyed look on her face.

Amora was tired and fed up of hearing her mother's incessant babbling about this. Even though she had asked Zuri to discuss it later at home, she continued to discuss it even in front of Miguel, who was someone else. Amora could only stare at her mother as a signal to stop cornering Blake.

Noticing her daughter's gaze, Zuri frowned. "What? It's obvious, isn't it, that Miguel is so great." Zuri replied to Amora sarcastically. "You're the one who's stupid, still wanting to maintain a household with this damn man. It's enough that he put me in the hospital and broke my bones. You want to wait for him to kill me?"

Blake exhaled softly at his mother-in-law's words. "I'm not going to do that, Mom."

"Hey, lousy guy, I'm not talking to you. So shut up." She snapped back at Blake. "You should be thanking Miguel for helping you get that job."

Blake exhaled softly. "I don't want to." Firmly, he refused.

Suddenly, Zuri rounded her eyes and glanced at Blake. "Hey, what a shameless guy. Already given a favour, but ungrateful. You are indeed the most annoying person in the world. At least don't embarrass me and Amora. Hurry up and thank him."

Miguel hardened his jaw, increasingly annoyed with Blake's attitude. "Oh, I shouldn't have helped you get a job there. It turns out that besides being poor and useless, you're also a man of bad character."

Amora actually felt bad for Miguel for trying to hire Blake, but she didn't want to make things worse.

Amora looked at Blake coldly. "Say something, Blake."

Blake gave Amora a cold stare. "No." His voice was firm, making Zuri and Miguel, who heard him, even more annoyed.

"Absolutely shameless." Zuri snorted in annoyance, giving Amora a sharp look. "You see for yourself how bad your lousy husband is. I told you a long time ago, you'd better divorce him immediately."

"Just leave him and we can start a new, happy life." Miguel grinned, satisfied to have cornered Blake. "After all, just getting a job cleaning toilets is already arrogant and pretentious."

Hearing that made Zuri laugh. "What, a toilet cleaner?" She looked at her son-in-law with cynical eyes and a condescending face. "You're nothing compared to Miguel who has everything and has a good job."

Amora looked at Blake for a moment. Actually, she didn't mind if Blake got any job as long as he could work and reduce Zuri's nagging that Blake was an unemployed man and could only cause trouble.

"No, no, no. I'm not working as a toilet cleaner." Blake refuted Miguel's words with a face full of confidence. "I'm the manager there."

Miguel and Zuri burst out laughing at the man's words. Miguel even tapped Blake's shoulder, quite hard to express that it was a very funny joke.

"You idiot, don't joke like that." Miguel wiped the tears from the corner of his eyes. "You think we'll just believe you? Never mind, don't get delusional. It's still daytime." Miguel chuckled and shook his head. "Just accept your job as a toilet cleaner."

Miguel grinned. He couldn't believe what the man in front of him was saying because there was no way that Mario would hire that man as a manager. Even his cousin could get the manager's job after five years of working at the company.

"On what basis were you hired as manager?" Miguel raised one eyebrow with a small smirk. "You don't even have any skills. At the very least, you should go to an advanced college and the truth is you're not highly educated, Blake."

Zuri let out a rough breath. "Oh, my goodness, Blake. How can a dumb guy like you be the manager of such a famous company? It's obvious that the manager is Miguel's cousin. You're out of your mind."

Zuri burst out laughing again as Miguel looked at Blake contemptuously. Even if Blake said he worked as an employee at the company, they still wouldn't believe it because it was impossible, let alone being a manager like he said.

"I do work as a manager." Blake looked at Zuri seriously, making Zuri angry.

"Do you take me for a fool, huh?" Zuri glared, pointing her index finger at Blake with contempt. "You think I don't know that the company is a big company? Just working as a toilet cleaner is already a big accomplishment for you, so don't look down on me. Don't try to fool me, damn it!"

Amora let out a long breath, shaking her head while massaging her forehead vigorously. "Never mind, stop it." She looked at Blake with a deep frown on her forehead. "No need to lie, Blake. Just tell me the truth if you only work as a toilet cleaner." Amora bit her lower lip for a moment. "That's okay. No need to make up things that aren't possible."

How could Father be moved just like that without any prior notice?" Zuri asked, her voice filled with concern and confusion. "My daughter, it was Blake who decided to transfer me to a better care facility. Everything was arranged properly," Jhonson said with a smile, his voice sounding stronger than before. Zuri looked at him sharply. "Better care? What do you mean? Why didn’t anyone inform us first?" The staff members were slightly taken aback by Zuri’s reaction, but they remained calm as they responded, "We were just following Mr. Blake’s instructions. The facility is highly exclusive, and there, Grandfather received more intensive care." Amora, who had just stepped out of the kitchen, overheard the conversation and looked confused. She walked closer and asked, "Mom, what are you talking

His hand, still gripping the phone, began to tremble, his fingers clenching around the device so tightly it was as if he wanted to crush it. His breathing turned erratic and uneven. Slowly, he turned his head. His eyes flickered quickly toward Blake, a mix of shock, fury, and fear flashing in his gaze. His brows furrowed deeply, the muscles in his face tightening. He studied Blake, unable to believe that the man could be responsible for this. His other hand balled into a fist at his side, his nails nearly digging into his palm. “Sir, we just received new information that the Pairend company’s business is also experiencing a drastic decline.” His assistant’s voice trembled, causing Betrand’s own hands to shake even more. It felt like Betrand had just been struck repeatedly. Even Pairend—a company that had only been established a year ago yet had shown impressive growth and profitability—was suddenly experie

“We tried to convince them to stay, but they’ve already given up,” the assistant continued, desperation creeping into his tone. “Even the banks are starting to reject our loan applications. If we don’t act fast, the company will go bankrupt!” Hearing those words, Betrand staggered backward, his head spinning. This couldn't be happening. His company had always been stable, its power in the business world unshakable. But now? Everything was crumbling in mere hours. He swallowed hard, trying to regain his composure. “How did this happen?” “What’s wrong?” Merry frowned, concern flashing across her face as she observed her husband’s stunned reaction. Liana quickly glanced at her son. That was a large sum to give away just like that to the three police officers, but now was not the time to think about that. Romeo's freedom was the priority. Liana also nodded while clasping her hands in front of her chest. "Yes, we'll pay whatever it takes as long as you release my husband." The two officers behind Marco exchanged glances with each other. They were unsure if their leader would accept the offer or continue with their task. "How about it? Or maybe that's a small offer?" Romeo frowned. "Just tell me how much you want. I'll give it to you." He was so confident that his offer would work. He didn’t care how much money he would lose; after all, he had just gotten a commission from the illegal arms sale. It didn’t matter if he lost a lot of money, as long as he could be free and keep his family safe from punishment. "Oh, that's a very tempting offer," Marco no
