Feyre

Dinner had gone well and everyone had retired to their chambers to sleep.

Before Kayden retired to his uncle's room. He had to do some chores for Aidan.

He made the bed, put away Aidan's dirty clothes and closed the windows.

"is there anything you need my lord?" he asked.

"Why do you ask? Are you in a hurry to go somewhere?" Aidan asked in return.

"It's late my lord, I wanted to retire to bed." Kayden replied.

"well I still need you. Do you have a problem with that?"

"none my lord, what do you need me for?"

Aidan got into bed and gestured at the chair close to the bed.

"Sit down" he ordered.

Kayden sat down, looking very confused.

"Where do you come from?" Aidan asked.

"Varya. It's a little village on the outskirts of Rivena." Kayden replied.

"Where you born there?"

"Yes my lord. I was born there, I grew up there with my mother."

"What about your father?"

"I never knew him, he died before I was born." Kayden replied.

"I never knew my mother either. She died giving birth to me." Aidan said.

"But I thought the queen was your mother?" Kayden asked.

"No, father married her a year after my mother's death. Phil is her son from her previous marriage. Her husband died as well."

"I never knew this."

"Well Father forbade everyone from talking about the incident, over the years people gradually forgot about my mother and she became known as my mother while Phil is the king's ward."

"I am so sorry my lord."

"It's okay Kayden, I never knew her anyway. Sometimes I wish I knew her, the queen is nice but...." Aidan trailed off.

"It doesn't feel the same." Kayden finished for him.

"Yes, it doesn't feel the same."

"Anytime I miss my Father or I wish he was here, I just imagine he is by my side and I talk to him. It always makes me feel better. You should try it my lord, it might make you feel better."

"I will try it out."

Kayden yawned suddenly. "You must be exhausted." Aidan said.

"It's okay my lord, I can still stay and talk to you."

"It's okay, you can go to bed. I expect you to resume bright and early tomorrow."

Kayden stood up. "Yes my lord. Have a good night rest."

"I will. Goodnight Kayden."

As Kayden was about to leave, Aidan called him back.

"if my father hadn't made you my servant. Would you have become my servant?" he asked Kayden.

"Yes, I would still become your servant. My lord." Kayden replied.

Aidan smiled. "Goodnight Kayden."

"Goodnight my lord." Kayden said and left the room.

As Kayden walked to his room, he heard his name.

"Kayden" he turned around but nobody was there.

"who is there? Show yourself." he said.

"I am not physically here, I am speaking in your mind." the voice replied.

"were you the one who called me earlier in the throne room?" Kayden asked.

"Yes."

"Where are you?"

"I am in the storage. Come down, I need to talk to you. I can't project my voice to you for long." the voice replied.

"Who are you?" Kayden asked.

"I am just like you, I mean no harm. I promise."

Kayden debated whether to go to the storage or ignore the voice and go up to his room. He decided to go to the storage, something told him that he could trust the voice.

Kayden cautiously walked down to the storage. He was careful not to be spotted by any of the patrol guards.

When he got down to the storage, he noticed that there were two guards in front of the door.

He looked at them intently and they suddenly collapsed on the floor. He had made them sleep. He got to the door and used his magic to open the door and the door opened.

He entered the storage and looked around, "where are you?" he asked.

"behind you." the voice replied.

Kayden turned around to see the sword.

"I am the sword." the voice said.

Kayden was startled, "how can you be the sword, a sword can't talk, a sword isn't a living thing." he said in shock.

He heard a sigh from the voice, "for someone capable of using magic, you are very daft." the voice said.

"What do you mean?" Kayden asked offended.

"I am not just a sword, I am a magical sword. I belonged to the most powerful sorcerer in the world. It's only natural for me to be able to talk." the voice replied.

"I see. So do you have a name?" Kayden asked.

"Of course I do, I am Feyre."

"i am Kayden and it is a honor to make your acquaintance."

"I already know your name, young sorcerer." Feyre replied.

"So why did you want to talk to me?" Kayden asked.

"Because I need your help, you are the only one I can talk to in this darned palace. I need you to find my owner." Feyre replied.

"Zarall?"

"Yes Zarall."

"I thought he died." Kayden said.

"my owner is the greatest sorcerer to ever exist, he isn't dead. I can feel it, he is still alive."

"You can feel it?" Kayden asked.

"Yes I can. The night I came out of the lake, I felt his power. That is what drew me from the bottom of the lake."

"So can you feel where he is now?"

"I can't. My powers are not as strong as they used to be. Can you help me Kayden?"

"I will try to help you."

"Thank you. You mustn't tell anyone about me. Do you promise?"

"I promise." Kayden said.

"Thank you young sorcerer." Feyre said gratefully.

"I should be on my way before the guards wake up."

"Yes, you should."

Kayden left and locked the gate back. After he had walked a little while, he snapped his fingers and the guards woke up completely unaware of what had just happened.

On his way back to his room, he heard whispers of two people and they seemed to be coming his way. He hid in a corner to observe them. It was Lady Martha and Darius.
