Hearing her voice, Sean’s eyes darted to Rosalind, and their eyes met.

She blinked in disbelief, frozen. For a moment, she thought she might be hallucinating. There was no way he was actually here. No way he had come… to save her.

Vincent noticed the shift in Sean’s expression—that quiet intensity, the subtle pull in his stance.

Sean no longer looked at him.

Without a word, Sean stepped past Vincent. Not fast. Not rushed. Just at a normal pace. Vincent didn’t try to stop him. Maybe he was too stunned. Or maybe something in Sean’s aura warned him that one wrong move would end badly.

He was shocked. There were very few people who dared to ignore his status and act on their own terms—and he never imagined Sean would be one of them.

Sean reached Rosalind and crouched beside her. Her lips trembled. Her breathing was shaky. Her clothes were torn at the shoulder, the neckline dipping too low from the struggle, exposing far more than he liked.

He didn’t speak right away. His jaw clenched as he

Edric was quiet. He stared at the bottle again, lifting it to the light.“Yes,” he said finally, the corner of his lips curling into a smile. “It’s real.”Seeing the look on Edric’s face, Rosalind’s eyes widened in shock. She hadn’t expected Sean to bring anything of value. But still, she wanted to be sure. Maybe her uncle was mistaken.“Are you sure the wine is real, sir?” Nate asked, still not convinced. He clung to the hope that Edric had made a mistake.“More than real,” Edric said, still admiring the bottle. “I haven’t seen one in years. They only produce about 400 bottles a year. And it’s never exported.”Curious now, he turned to Sean. “How did you even get this?”“I bought it.”“How?”“I asked for it… and had it delivered,” Sean replied simply. “Someone recommended it to me.”Edric blinked, stunned. How could Sean have gotten his hands on something this rare with a simple request? Still, he didn’t push. Maybe the wine had finally started appearing overseas, though he doubted i

Julian yanked open the box and stared at it in silence.Inside, nestled within a velvet-lined interior, were two identical bottles—tall, slender, and unmistakably luxurious. The glass was a deep amber with a subtle marbled sheen, the kind that hinted at age and craftsmanship. The necks were sealed with twisted golden cords, and the wax stamps bore symbols none of them recognized.Even more curious, the bottles weren’t empty.A rich, honeyed liquid shimmered inside, catching the light like liquid gold with a faint blush of red, thicker than wine, yet delicate enough to swirl like silk.Beside them sat two porcelain cups, hand-painted with cherry blossoms and trimmed with gold. Everything about the presentation radiated expense… and mystery. The room fell silent. Everyone stared at the bottles, brows furrowed in confusion. It was the first time any of them had seen a drink like that. They had no idea what it was—or even if it was drinkable.Rosalind arched her brow. She was curious abo

Pulling out the box, Sean set it gently on the table with a soft thud. And just like that, the laughter stopped. The sleek, dark wooden box gleamed under the chandelier, drawing every eye in the room. It looked expensive—tastefully crafted and entirely unexpected. For a moment, no one spoke. They were all too stunned by the sight.Even Rosalind’s brows lifted slightly. She hadn’t seen him holding anything earlier when they met by the fountain.‘How could he have carried that without me noticing?’ she thought. Then she remembered—he’d been wearing that oversized coat. He must’ve had it tucked beneath. Or maybe… she’d just been too focused on how cold he was, how distant, how he’d walked past her like she didn’t exist.Maybe she hadn’t been paying attention at all.Nate, on the other hand, was curious about Sean’s gift. When he heard Sean would be attending, he rushed to get his own gift ready. And now, with Sean claiming he was better, Nate felt a prickle of paranoia. For a moment, he

The question filled the air, and Sean glanced at both of them. They all stared at him, waiting for a response. But Sean wasn’t going to give them one. He looked away, as though he hadn’t heard a single word they’d said. That only made it worse.“Aww, cat got your tongue?” Lilian teased, laughing behind her wine glass. “Or maybe numbers that big just scramble your brain.”Julian snorted. “Nah, I think he’s calculating how many years it’ll take him to save up for something like that. Let’s be generous—ten years, no emergencies, no rent, no food.”Sean still said nothing.“You could’ve at least brought flowers,” Eleanor added with mock sympathy. “Even supermarket roses would’ve shown some effort.”“Don’t be mean,” Julian said, chuckling. “He probably thought his presence was the gift.”More laughter followed.Rosalind didn’t say anything, but Sean didn’t miss the way her lips twitched—not quite a smile, but certainly not a protest either.Let them think whatever they want. It wasn’t like

It was just past 6 PM when Sean arrived at the Springfield estate.Evening light bathed the mansion in gold, casting long shadows across the pristine driveway. The house looked just as he remembered—grand and quiet. The sky had deepened into indigo as Sean stepped out of the taxi, hands tucked into his coat pockets. Garden lights glowed softly, and the fountain murmured in the stillness. The air was cold, but it didn’t faze him.Rosalind was waiting. She stood by the fountain, calm and distant, her long hair loosely tied back. Her hand was still wrapped in a neat white bandage that stood out against her lavender sweater. Her lips parted slightly when she saw him approaching, but she didn’t speak.Sean saw her.He noted the bandage, the clarity in her eyes, and the way she stood firm. She wasn’t pale or frail. She looked… fine.So he kept walking.Didn’t stop.Didn’t speak.Didn’t look again. He brushed past her like she wasn’t even there.“Wow,” Rosalind said sharply, spinning around.

  • CHAPTER 92

"YOU RUINED EVERYTHING!" Director Hale screamed as the officers dragged her out of the building, her voice shrill and wild with rage. "You think this ends here, Sean? You think this is over?! Timothy’s still out there! He’ll come for me! He’ll find me! I’m not done!"Sean stood calmly at the top of the steps outside the lab, watching her with quiet indifference. Hands in his pockets, wind brushing his hair, eyes unreadable. He tilted his head slightly and said, “Good luck with that.”She snarled, struggling against the officers. “You smug little—”"That's enough," one of the officers snapped, jerking her forward. "You have the right to remain silent. I suggest you start using it." But she wasn’t done. Not yet.Even as they pulled her toward the police van, her voice carried. "He’s going to get me out! You hear me? I’ll be out before morning!"The scientists who had been speaking to her just moments before stood frozen, shocked to see her being taken away. They didn’t need anyone to exp
