Cobra city was known for its snaky roads as well as for the eccentric job opportunities it provided.

Justin had heard many citizens say along the lines of: “I scratch pimples for a living.”

There were always people who would hire other people to keep their ugly houses clean, keep their rebellious brats quiet, to mourn at funerals, to taste the beta-food they made, and to bring their runaway pets home and what not.

There was always someone hungry and jobless in the city, so there were plenty of people gravitating toward even the strangest of jobs like moths to a flame.

Justin was also thinking of being a street cleaner. He would then get to officially clean the streets at night, and he was hoping, maybe, he would find some valuables. In the mornings, however, he could look for better career opportunities. Since every city block had its own street cleaner, the chances of him getting a job were not low. He just needed to find the one with openings.

Justin thought of all these things while walking with Myles who just stopped in front of a pet store. His eyes were especially on the cages with birds inside, and an old memory flashed in his mind.

“My love,” his wife, Vreka, caught his shirt and crumpled it with her fingers, and asked him shyly on their first night after marriage, “I want you to catch a dragon for me… alive.”

And he had. Not only did he catch a fire dragon alive, he also imprisoned it in a magical ice cage that kept the creature in a weakened state. It was unheard of! Vreka’s mother used to have a public display of the dragon to her friends and other important personnel and boasted before them. He had done so much more for them, only to receive a dagger in his heart.

At the moment, Myles fought the urge to break open the bird cages and kept walking.

“Are you perhaps interested in buying a pet?” asked Justin. “They are really costly, both to buy and to maintain, so I advise you to wait until you have a home and earn enough to hire workers.”

“I used to have one,” Myles thought of his pet dragonfly.

“How was it? Having a pet?” Justin was curious. “Is it worth it?”

Myles thought about his pet, and his expression turned somewhat sad. “More than worth it,” he spoke in a gentle voice. “Buzz taught me how to be patient, and I also learned from watching him that I should be smooth in my actions and that I shouldn’t readily make decisions by how I feel.”

“Haha, most people do make most of their decisions by how they feel,” Justin’s smiling face was soon taken over by gloom. It was because he strongly felt like living with a beauty, he had ended up marrying Casey. “Feelings… we should control them. Not the other way around. But it’s not easy.”

They were at the zoo zone right now, where pets could be bought, or wild animals could be tamed. Justin was wondering if he should become a zookeeper without realizing that he was again letting his feelings change his decisions rather quickly.

Myles was watching the monkeys and tigers dancing together in the circus. These beasts existed in his world, too, though there were a lot more dangerous ones back in his world.

“I want to find out how I transmigrated. I didn’t do it, but is it a fluke?” Myles mumbled. “Something like this can’t happen on a whim. I must make preparations to go back to my world, but in order to do that, I have to move back in time so that my body still exists by the time I get there. I have to get my original body back, as those created with magic will have their limits. This borrowed body is no good, either.” He could feel the body resisting as he tried to clench his fists. “I can’t control time, so I hope this world has something that can push me in the right direction. Otherwise…” he shook his head slightly. “No. I don’t want to resort to that magic.”

Someone bumped into Justin from behind, so hard Justin tumbled forward. Justin got angry, but then he realized that the one hit him was a big bald guy, wielding flaming knuckle dusters. “Knuckle Kong!” This guy was Justin’s neighbor.

“You look pathetic as usual,” Kong snorted at him. “While I got promoted to an expert delta mage, you lost your job… AND YOUR WIFE. Pathetic. Really pathetic, indeed. But because of that…'' he licked his lips. “I got to sleep with Casey after you got kicked out of the city. I introduced her to one of my friends. He works as a florist, and they work together at the shop. He keeps her really happy now and also lets me into the house ‘whenever’ I want, kehehe.”

Justin’s blood boiled. “You bastard!” he threw his fist at Kong who was a foot-and-half taller.

Kong struck Justin’s fist with the knuckle duster and broke his bones. “Know your place, bitch!” He didn’t stop there and viciously threw punches in Justin’s place. “Knuckle Buffet!”

Many of Justin’s bones broke in the face as he got utterly knocked out of his senses. Kong was still going, even though blood was flying everywhere.

“Hey,” a chilling voice entered through Kong’s ears and penetrated his heart like the sharpest needle out there.

“It’s been a few minutes since we came out,” Biskie was feeling nervous. “Myles isn’t dead, is he?”“Speak something positive for once,” Casey snorted. “There’s no way Myles would die.”“But that old woman seemed freakishly strong, and we know that Myles isn’t as strong as he used to be,” Biskie said.Sercy ended up hearing their words. “Wait, what do you mean by Myles not being as strong as he used to be? Explain more.”Biskie was startled.Myles had specifically told them to keep their pasts hidden for their own good.“Uh, it was nothing. He used to exercise a lot in the past, but now, he’s become rather lazy,” Biskie replied, laughing embarrassedly.“Do you see cauliflowers in my hair?” Sercy hissed at her. “It’s obvious that you’re lying.” She then shifted her gaze to Ria. “What are you guys hiding from me? Myles was able to cancel an attack that only the likes of halcyon knights can.“Halcyon knights work directly under the Three Kings, and they’re all formidable because they are

Before the tornado grew large and more powerful, Myles also waved his hand as if he was pulling the curtain aside. The tornado dissipated pretty fast.Sercy and others didn’t quite understand how Myles did it, but Glint, Judas, and Wise Servant saw it.“W-What happened?” Biskie was utterly clueless.Ria took a couple of seconds to realize it as he remembered Myles’ words.Vera had four stages of manipulation: flesh, water, wind, and soul.Did Myles just undo the tornado with his vera?Sercy knew this was possible to do with vera, but it was many times harder to cancel an attack than to cast one.So, she didn’t think Myles used Vera. After all, it would take years of consistent focus and dedication to master different levels of vera.Someone who looked as young as Myles couldn’t possibly be possessing such skill, Sercy thought.“I see,” Wise Servant’s expression changed. “You’re not just some random brat. To be able to control vera to such an extent at that age… your talent rivals that

One of the Four Great Heroes, the eccentric old lady known to eat food in restaurants and not pay the bill for not satisfying her tongue was now right before Sercy.Unlike her, Casey and Biskie didn’t know how powerful and popular the Four Great Heroes were.Ria’s instincts, however, told her that this old lady was nasty and powerful. She couldn’t calm herself down. But then, Myles put his hand on her shoulder. She didn’t know what he did, but her heart beat slowed down.“Jelly Shock!” Aero released his electric attack, but Wise Servant dispersed it with her wind ability.“Don’t struggle,” she put invisible pressure on Aero’s body, which made him feel like his eyes might pop out, and his lips would get ripped.Dusty, however, stayed silent as if he had already given up any hope on escaping.Wise Servant closed her fist and then turned to face the fellow humans.“Give me one reason why I should spare some mercy on you guys for chatting with the monster-kind?” she asked. “How can you p

Aero’s attack was deadly enough to easily kill a group of individuals without them even realizing what happened. The table where Myles and others were sitting was utterly destroyed. However, nobody was harmed because Myles had warped them a few meters away at the last moment. The only being he didn’t warp was Dusty.Dusty took the attack head on and was injured just a little. “This is…” he didn’t take more than a second to understand who it was. “Don’t say anything and just run away!” he shouted in ant language.“What nonsense are you talking about!” Aero attacked him with his spear-like limbs. “Her Majesty trusted you and sent you on a mission, but here you are, eating sugary things!”“You idiot! I didn't have any other choice!” Dusty defended himself. “I was forced to work for these humans!”“Shame on you! How can you work for humans?” Aero grew all the more aggressive. “You surely deserve to die!”“Who is that bastard?” Sercy asked angrily because part of the cafe was destroyed by

General Aero of the Battle Ants leaped toward the two old timers and used his jelly-like body to set himself on fire, causing a nasty explosion that covered almost a hundred feet in every direction. It was so hot the ground cracked and the metal melted.Aero used this opportunity to fly away fast. Some automated machine guns recognized this intruder and shot at it, but Aero was able to easily slip past the bullets and flew away into the distance, covering a mile per second.Wise Servant and Sweet Beggar stepped out of the explosion, and Wise Servant sucked in the explosion and contained it in her single hand and squashed it into nothing. The compressed flames no longer existed as a candle light would turn off.“Are you going to go after that thing, or do you want me to go instead?” she asked him.“You’re the wiser one,” Sweet Beggar picked his teeth. “So you should go, since you decided to let that little ant go.”“I thought he might lead us to the one that escaped last time,” she rep

She had been trying to win just one game of chess against him for so long. She grew experienced enough to be easily called a grandmaster of chess, but still, she was not able to win against Sweet Beggar just one more time. All she wanted was for him to forgive her and say ‘I love you’ just once more. Both of them had long crossed 100 years of age. So, they weren’t thinking of sex or anything like that. They were purely thinking about each other’s souls.Wise Servant had already beaten him 999,999 times, but she really wanted to win another game; however, Sweet Beggar didn’t make it any easier for her.
