“You idiot,” Miren said as she gave Adrian a huge knock on his head.

Adrian screamed in pain as he turned back to look at Miren, who had an angry expression on her face.

“What the fuck was that? Why did you hit me?”

“Do you really think you could look me in the eye and lie about how you got these injuries? Of course I know how you got them. You fought in the Underground Arena, right?” Miren said with a nonchalant expression on her face.

“How did you know?” Adrian asked with surprise.

“Oh, trust

The two buses finally came to a stop in front of a huge building that looked like a hotel. In front of the building was a bus from another school. Quinn College.Quinn College was a school for the wealthy, as they didn’t accept students whose families weren’t influential and rich. They showed preferential treatment to students who came from homes in higher positions. There were also students from that school in the bus and some outside the bus, but the people that stood out the most were a boy and girl, both of whom sat on top of the bus.“Here come the students from Aegis. Does any one of them fancy your eye?” the girl named Eva asked.“I only have eyes for Lirielle. All the rest are trash that can be easily crushed,” the boy called Kane replied.“I heard she was given the position of Queen, basically meaning she would be the number one and commander of all first years, but she refused. There she is,” Eva replied as they both looked at Lirielle coming down from the bus and looking ar

  • CHAPTER 32 — THE COLOURED DUNGEON

Adrian sat in the third-to-last seat at the back of the school bus, watching through the window as his classmates rolled their luggage and arranged them before entering the bus he was in and the second bus ahead of them.Mr. Frank had told them that they would spend four days on this field trip exercise so they could learn that there are some dungeons that they would spend days inside and would need to sleep there in order to have the energy to go on and clear the dungeon. He saw Lirielle coming from a distance, rolling her travelling bag and with her hair tied back into a ponytail. God, she was beautiful, and she had a cold expression on her face as one of the instructors went to collect her bag from her. She then approached the bus Adrian was on.She walked down to their seat where Adrian was and locked eyes with Adrian and the boy sitting in the second seat beside him. The innocent boy looked between Lirielle and Adrian and back to Lirielle again, and with her cold stare completely

  • CHAPTER 31 — THE MERIT POINTS

“As we all know, the field trip is about to begin, and there is something important I need to share with you,” Mr. Frank said, grabbing the attention of the entire class.“There’s something you need to understand about this field trip. Every student in this academy is assigned a Merit Point record.”“You earn Merit Points through examinations, tournaments, training exercises, monster hunts, dungeon expeditions, and other academy activities, and those points aren’t meaningless numbers.”The holographic screen behind him changed, displaying the ranking of the previous first-year class.“At the end of your first year, ten students who accumulate enough Merit Points will become eligible to compete for positions within the Student Council.”The classroom immediately became noisy.“The current Student Council consists of second-year students. When they graduate, their positions will become vacant.”Mr. Frank looked across the classroom.“And those positions will be filled by the strongest a

I may be holed up in my office all day, but information flies into my ears more than most people in this Academy,” Miren said as her summon landed on Adrian’s chest and started healing his injuries.“You must be a spy or something because you surprise me every time,” Adrian said with a smile, lying down shirtless on one of the beds in the infirmary.“Maybe I am a spy, maybe I’m not. Who knows? I just love to always be informed,” she replied.“If you are really as good as you say, what is th

  • CHAPTER 29 — LET'S SETTLE THE SCORE

“Looks like you're a magnet for bullets, am I right, Adrian?”Adrian, still lying on the ground, bent his head slightly and looked to his side. He saw a very young version of himself squatting by his side.“First it was Smoke, and now this dude. You think you're going to survive this one?” the young boy asked with a smile on his face and then began laughing loudly.“Of course you'll fucking survive. How can a B-Rank Summoner be killed by ordinary bullets? That's not possible, right?”“You are currently wondering why your body can't move and why you feel like you're about to die, but it is not true. Your body is currently going through the trauma of being shot, especially that first time by Smoke. That is why when you got shot, you went into shock, and your brain is currently believing you're going to die.”“We are nothing here. The only thing we have here is money, and if you compare that to other students who have money, power, and family influence, then what we have is nothing.”“Th

  • CHAPTER 28 — THE CHAMPION OF THE ARENA

“Ladies and gentlemen, today we are about to witness a fight between two powerhouses. Shadow himself and Kazar, who is known to be one of the champions of this arena. Will the Black Knight be able to win against Kazar, or will Kazar dominate this fight and claim victory as always?” the commentator said as the crowd cheered.“Start making your bets on who you think will walk out of this arena a champion. Remember, you cannot ascend to the top if you don't take a few risks.”Adrian and the senior, Kazar, stood on opposite sides of the wide arena ground. From the announcement just made, Adrian found out that Kazar wasn't just a senior; he had already made a name for himself as one of their champions.Kazar smiled as a portal opened behind him, and a 7-foot-tall beast appeared. It had a heavily muscular frame that made its body look far more like a prehistoric predator than an ordinary bird, and its entire body was covered in thick, jet-black feathers, layered densely around its torso and
