Daniel, the middle-aged owner of the shop, felt his legs tremble. Marvin noticed it. He also noticed the fear in Daniel’s eyes.

“P-please… give us some more time… We don’t have the money right now. But next week… maybe we will. So, please–”

Whack!!!

Baron, the man who had been speaking so loudly earlier, lifted a nearby chair and slammed it onto the floor. Two of its legs snapped.

“I’ve run out of patience, Daniel. Pay your debt to our boss now, or we’ll destroy this lousy shop of yours. We’ll flatten it to the ground!” Baron said.

Marvin observed Baron from the corner of his eye. A scar running across his right cheek made Baron look intimidating. And the other men behind him exuded a similar evil aura.

But Marvin was not intimidated at all. He was as calm as could be.

The increase in physical strength gifted to him by the system had automatically boosted his courage as well.

“P-please don’t do that. This shop is all we have. We built it from scratch. We’re sure it will be bustling with customers soon–”

“Shut up!” Baron snapped, stepping closer to Daniel and grabbing him by the collar. “We decide when you pay. If you can’t pay now, shut your mouth and watch us destroy your shop!”

Baron snapped his fingers. The menacing men behind him began kicking chairs and tables.

“Dad, what’s happening?”

The slender woman with a ponytail came out from the kitchen, startled to see the menacing men ransacking the shop. Her pupils widened when she saw Daniel being shoved by Baron, his back hitting the floor.

“Dad!”

The slender woman rushed to Daniel, helping him sit up. She then lifted her face and sneered, glaring at Baron with pure rage.

“How could you do this to my father! You truly have no conscience!” the slender woman shouted, tears streaming from her left eye.

Marvin took a sip of his drink, scanning Baron and the men who came with him. Seeing the situation escalating, it seemed he had to intervene soon.

“Well, well, well. Your beautiful daughter is finally out, is she, Daniel?” Baron said, placing one hand on his hip and the other under his chin.

“How about this,” he continued. “I could give you a few extra days. But, as collateral, you must hand over your beautiful daughter to me. I’ll take her and do fun things with her until you can pay off your debt. What do you say, Daniel? Fair enough, right?”

Baron laughed, followed by the menacing men behind him. The slender woman’s face turned crimson. Daniel, having managed to stand up with his daughter’s help, looked up at Baron and shook his head.

“Don’t hurt my daughter,” he said, coughing. “If this shop must be destroyed, so be it. But don’t touch my daughter!”

Baron snorted, glaring. “I told you to shut your mouth if you can’t pay!”

Baron strode forward, preparing to punch Daniel. Daniel and his daughter’s eyes widened in fear.

But just as Baron’s fist was about to hit Daniel’s face, Marvin caught his hand.

“You bring your thugs here, attack a woman and a sickly middle-aged man. Aren’t you ashamed of yourself?” Marvin taunted, staring sharply at Baron.

Baron glared back, his eyes widening again. “Who the hell are you? Don’t meddle in other people’s business, or you’ll receive… Aaaarghhhhhh! My hand!!!”

Marvin tightened his grip on Baron’s hand and twisted it. Baron screamed in pain, falling to his knees on one leg.

“I am about to invest my money here. Clearly, this is my business. You are mistaken if you think I will just stand by while you destroy my shop and hurt my employees!” Marvin said firmly, releasing Baron’s hand with a slam.

“Ouch!”

Baron fell and his right hand hit the floor. He curled up, clutching his right hand. His face turned red from the pain.

“Y-you… you don’t know who you’re messing with…”

Thud!

Marvin kicked Baron in the stomach. The kick was so powerful that Baron’s body shifted several meters forward. Baron then vomited blood. He couldn’t say anything more.

“All of you, listen carefully!” Marvin said loudly. “This man’s debt will be paid within a week, with interest. Now, leave and tell your boss that! Don’t let me beat every one of you until you’re bruised and battered.”

A mysterious aura emanated from Marvin’s body as he spoke. The menacing men didn’t dare to approach. Despite being outnumbered, they realized that Marvin was far stronger than them. The proof was Baron – the strongest among them – being taken down by Marvin so easily.

Finally, they helped Baron stand up and supported him as they left. One of them glanced back at Marvin before closing the door. Marvin gave him a very cold stare.

After the menacing men left the shop, the slender woman fell to her knees. She covered her face with both hands, sobbing.

“Thank you, Sir. You saved us. Ah, no. You saved us and this shop. Thank you so much!” Daniel said, bowing repeatedly to Marvin.

Marvin held Daniel’s shoulders, asking him to stop. “I’m sorry if I acted late. I should have been able to drive them away before they damaged the chairs and tables.”

“It’s okay, Sir. We are already very grateful for your help. But… how can we repay your kindness?”

Marvin smiled wryly and shook his head. “I told you, I’m going to invest my money here. That means this shop is mine too. I’m just doing what I have to do.”

Daniel looked at Marvin with teary eyes. “So, you’re really going to invest in our shop, Sir?”

“Yes, that’s right. Five million dollars, as I told you earlier. Can you please provide your bank account number?”

  • Do I Look Like I'm Joking?

High in a penthouse at the city’s heart, Alex and Melanie moved together with fierce intensity upon the wide, broad bed.“Ohh… ohh… so deep…”Melanie rode above him, rising and falling, her hands kneading her own breasts. Alex growled low, his palms roaming over her hips and belly. This had not been planned. She had been waiting for him the moment he walked through the door—pulling him down, kissing him hungrily, before he could even speak. Moments later they were naked in bed, bodies joined, moving with desperate, burning need.It was fast, hard, and breathless. In less than half an hour they reached their peak together, as one. Melanie fell away to lie beside him, chest heaving.“Not like you to be so aggressive,” Alex said, glancing at her with a faint, knowing smirk. “Something troubling you?”Normally it was Alex who took charge—who was the more demanding, the more forceful, the wilder of the two.And his guess was right. Melanie was angry. Furious, in fact.“This afternoon… I we

  • Manage Your Expectations

The ordeal at the two‑storey house with the wide garage was finally over. Walter ordered his men to dispose of the bodies of Baron and Josh. Marvin turned his full attention to Emily and Lisa.“So you are Emily’s cousin? And you came here to escape your stepfather?” Marvin asked.“That’s right. More or less,” Lisa replied. Her gaze still carried a trace of suspicion. But after all Marvin had done for her, her manner was no longer cold.Marvin glanced at Emily. “You intend to take her to your flat? She’ll live with you there… until she finds somewhere to stay?”Emily looked at Lisa. “We haven’t discussed it yet. We barely had time to speak before that tall, big man appeared. So for now… yes. I’ll take her home with me.”Marvin nodded and looked back at Lisa. She was so young, and so timid. In a busy city like Murndale, she was exactly the kind of woman predators preyed upon.“Then let me drive you there. Should we go now?”Emily and Lisa looked at each other and nodded, almost in uniso

  • Any Last Words?

It was none other than Walter. He strode down the steps into the basement. Though he carried no pistol or weapon of any kind, his presence alone bore down on the Black Skull members like a weight.Baron was less shaken, yet his eyes blazed with clear alarm. He turned to face his boss.“Baron, what the hell were you doing here? What did I order you to do?” Walter’s voice boomed, sharp and commanding. He fixed Baron with a glare that could have cut steel.Baron opened his mouth… then closed it again, swallowing hard. “You told me to bring these guys here… to help Marvin, Boss.”“Then what in heaven’s name do I see? Why are they pointing guns at him?!”“That is because…” Baron paused, searching for a plausible lie. But then he thought, why lie any longer? This could be the right moment to make Walter see the truth, that Marvin did not belong in the Black Skull.“Because…?” Walter’s voice cracked like a whip. He stood fully upon the basement floor now.Baron drew a breath. “So sorry, Bos

  • No Better Option

Marvin narrowed his eyes, standing and scanning every man there. These were unmistakably the members of the Black Skull. Yet by their stance and the look in their eyes, they answered entirely to Baron.“This is not surprising at all,” Marvin said calmly. “I expected this moment to come.”Baron smirked and stepped forward slowly. “We have unfinished business. Now seems like the perfect time to settle it.”Marvin replied nothing. He only offered a cold, knowing smile of his own.“Marvin… aren’t these… the same men who caused trouble at the Bowl of Heaven the other day?” Emily asked, her voice tight with alarm.Marvin glanced at her briefly. She was sitting close to Lisa—who looked bewildered, still struggling to understand what was happening.“Stay right where you are, both of you. Don’t worry. You’ll be safe,” Marvin told them, steady and unshaken. He turned his gaze back to Baron and his men. If this was to be the fight… then so be it. He would not hesitate to kill them—Baron above al

  • Too Soon To Feel Relieved

Half an hour had passed since Walter dropped away from the black SUV. He leaned back and lit his third cigarette, smoke curling into the air.‘Something is not right,’ he told himself. His mind had been fixed on Marvin ever since, wondering what state he was in. Had he won the fight? Had he found the woman he came for? However strong Marvin was, Walter’s worry would not fade. Marvin had gone in blind with rage. And he knew more than anyone, anger could be a fatal flaw.‘I hope this is just a foolish thought of mine,’ Walter thought. But the feeling clung to him, stubborn as ever. With every exhale of smoke, he pictured Marvin down there, alone. He only hoped Baron had moved fast, sending his men to help him.Meanwhile, Baron had just arrived at the two‑storey house with the wide garage. He stood in the yard with some twenty members of the Black Skull—all armed with pistols. Baron had drawn his own and racked the slide. His gaze settled on the black SUV parked before the closed garag

  • Rest In Hell

The bullets tore toward him, fast and true—at a range where no one should ever have stood unscathed.Marvin should have crumpled then, bleeding out. Instead he stood perfectly still. One hand rose before him, clenched as though catching something.Josh’s eyes bulged. He could not believe what he was seeing. Marvin stood untouched, unmoved. Where had every bullet gone?“Surprised?” Marvin sneered. “Confused?”He opened his palm, and a handful of bullets clattered to the floor.“What the hell…”Josh stared in utter disbelief. Marvin lowered his hand and kept walking forward.“You’d better brace yourself, because I will beat you within an inch of your life… before I finish you off,” Marvin said, his voice cold as ice.Having caught every round fired at him, he knew he already won this fight. The System had done far more than cloak him; it had sharpened his speed to something beyond human comprehension.“No way this is happening! This must be some kind of trick,” Josh muttered, blinking h
